Customers are saying
Customers recognize the HD Wi-Fi Camera's excellent camera quality, ease of use, and effective night vision as significant strengths. Many also appreciate its reasonable price and wide field of view, although some experienced difficulties with initial setup and occasional connectivity problems. A few users mentioned challenges with the app and the need to purchase an SD card separately. Overall, the positive feedback on image quality and usability outweighs the reported issues with setup and connectivity.

Connection issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Issues staying connected to wi-fi. After having this for a few weeks and having constant issues keeping this connected to the wi-fi, I give up. I have a wi-fi repeater in the same room as this camera and it still cannot connect. If I do get it connected and working, the settings apparently aren't saved. If there is a power outage in our neighborhood, I can no longer connect to the camera. It isn't worth any more of my time. Looking for some other camera now.

Terrible product and support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the picture quality is pretty good, the support for it sucks! It's using old technology that you can't access with any web browser (which you need to configure it). I sent an email to them and they replied with, "it's no longer supported" but yet they still sell them! I would get but another one of d-link products.

Poor instructions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Per the instruction, I loaded the app on my phone. Following the 3 step quick start instructions. To open the app you must have an account. per the instructions. I clicked on new user tab and was then taken through the set up of the camera with no additional instruction on how to set up a new user name & password for a new account. Having reread the instructions sever times more and following the procedure again without results, I called their tech support. After 28 minutes on hold and listening to their product advertisement and how east the equipment is to set up and use, I became frustrated and hung up. I then spent a total of 17 minutes (round trip) returning to Best Buy to get my money back.

DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera requires either that you connect your camera to DLink's site so that all your video is streaming across the Interenet. Do you want everyone on the Internet to see what's happening in your house? I don't. If you think DLink can do security and secure your video any better than Equifax or other companies that have breaches, you're naive. Oh... the box says you can set the device up without connecting it to DLink's service. That's not true. You have to download and install insecure code onto your computer to do so. You can't just use your browser to set up the device. Just don't buy this thing... it's a security nightmare.

Don't waste your money OR time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My sister bought one in California. She is not overly tech savvy but should have been able to set this camera up. After 1.5 hours on the phone with D-link and another hour with me we finally gave up. I figured she must have done something wrong. I bought one locally and went about setting it up. I followed all instructions to the letter and could not get it set up. The ONLY way I could get it to work was by using WPS on my router. (sis has an older Apple Airport Express that does not have WPS) The camera worked long enough to finish the install but ultimately lost connection (my Router is linksys WRT1900AC 5 feet away from the camera and my apple i-Pad). During the hour I tried in vane to set it up with out WPS it would only see my network about 10% of the time. Another thing I noticed is that my router reported that the MAC address was different than the one on the card provided by D-Link. Over all the idea of this camera was exactly what I was looking for but the set up issues on two different units. says that the d-link is a piece of junk not worth your time. Maybe if you have a D-link wireless router with WPS it is easy to set up. Lastly the instructions say it only works with 802.11N and AC. Beware!

Terrible Tech support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the camera after being assured that set up was easy using WPS. It was not. I spent two hours on the phone to India trying to set this camera up. We never succeeded. I ended up taking it back to BB to get my money back. This camera is a complete waste of time.

So far not good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Camera comes with a "quick setup" card. It has 2 steps. I was on the phone with tech support for 1 hour. Tech finally said to return to Best Buy. He apologized. He stated that it was a new camera that had been out maybe a month. Though it was frustrating, my biggest issue was a product that was out for consumer purchase that came with a 2 step setup guide and you end up on the phone with tech support for an hour to only have to return the camera. I'll try one more and hopefully have a better review.

Camera is hard to connect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took me three hours to connect this camera. There is no support line. Once I had it connected, it disconnected . When the camera connects, it is a nice camera but the set up is too not easy or convenient.

You get what you pay for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my father who only needed a small camera for his house, so we didn't need to go with anything too expensive. That was the first mistake. I could not even get the camera to connect to the wifi/router. Im technical savy so it's not as if I didn't know what I was doing. I have my own security cameras at home and they were awesome. After all the trouble we had, I hopped on the review section and saw that some had the same issue, could not even get it to connect. I wish I could say more, but the fact that we couldnt even complete the setup process, there isn't much more to say. Find a better brand, spend a little more on something better. You get what you pay for.

Meh...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I think its a decent product, but the Live View does not work on my device when I'm not on the Wifi the camera is connected to. I would like to be able to see whats going on in the house when I'm AWAY from home. Will be returning.

didn't connect to my wifi router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.didn't connect to my wifi router at all, spent 1 long hour with tech support and after attempting with my phone, laptop and tablet with no success I decided to end the call. if is not easy to connect is not for me ,since I don't have a lot of time nor patience, I had a Logitech cam before and it was so easy to install . also they asked me to read from behind camera and those letters are as big a grain of salt, heck no. Also was instructed to get closer to router, I was practically glued to the router ,geeez. I decided to return it and go buy another Logitech cam today .

Waste of time and money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Made the mistake of purchasing these 8 of these cameras. After the initial set up of the cameras (which takes hours if they ever work) there were many daily network disconnects, I reset three of the cameras many times (5 hours today) and can't get them to set up again while using their frustrating app. I got temporary relief when I smashed one on the parking lot an hour ago! Still trying to get the other two to set up, but who knows, maybe I'll be smashing two more before too long! Put your money toward a better product! Would never recommend to anyone except an enemy!

Easy to set up, if you have the right device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The box made it sound like it was compatible with my Windows 10 desktop or smartphone. However, it is not. The ONLY way to set this camera up is with a compatible iPhone or Android Phone. What kind of consumer hardware can't you set up and configure on a Windows desktop? Tech support told me to borrow a friends phone but that's a hassle. Back to the store this goes!

Cannot Return!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the camera and it suddenly stopped connecting to my app and computer about a month or two later. Tried returning the camera to best buy and they told me I had to call dlink to return it. I called dlink and they have to prove the camera is defective before returning it. I have had it for 4 months or so and it's still under warranty- but I can't return it. Literally the most ridiculous thing ever. I will never buy this brand again.
