Being a huge fan of all three previous Danganronpa games, I was incredibly excited for this game. I very rarely buy games on their release date, but I couldn't stop myself from grabbing this on day one. Because of this, it pains me to say that I was hugely dissappointed with the quality of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. It's impossible to go too deep into why I was dissappointed without entering spoiler territory, so I can only give a sort of vague review.
Relatively early in the game, there's a big twist that feels very cheap and poorly executed. The only reason it can even be called a twist is because the game hides information from the player that the player character would very clearly know. In a game that is all about seeking the truth using the evidence your character uncovers, this really bothered me. Also, the consequences of this twist lead to a less interesting story.
From this point on until near the end, the game takes an upward trend and begins to feel a little more like the Danganronpa sequel I expect, though it never reaches the heights that it should. The cases never quite feel as interesting as in the first two games and some of the class-trial mini-games are pretty bad (I'm looking at you Psyche Taxi). I can say that I would have been happy with the game if these were the only problems.
My biggest issue with the game, though, is the ending. Without going into detail, it was just very unsatisfying. There's usually a big exciting reveal in a Danganronpa game, but this time it just felt boring and out of nowhere. I have more problems than just that, but I can't say anything else without going into specific spoilers.
A few more notes for those who have never played a Danganronpa game: Do not jump straight into this one. This game DOES spoil big events from the other games. You'd be doing yourself a huge disservice by playing this game first. The first game is so much better (not to mention so much cheaper), and playing this one will ruin much of that game's experience.

Danganronpa I'd back and it's better than ever. Filled with great characters, story, and tons of modes this game will keep you playing it well after its beaten.

The Danganronpa series are some of my favorite Vita games, V3 is no exception. One of my favorite games this year, in a year that has already had so many amazing games. If you’re planning on playing this one you might want to watch the Danganronpa 3 anime first, or at least read a summary.

I've played the previous 2, and none of them disappoint. The great thing about this game in particular is that you don't have to play the first 2, as this is somewhat of a remake of the originals.

Great mystery game for those who don't mind the violence! Haven't finished the game yet, but the story so far is superb and I've been surprised more times than I can count.

While some elements are the same from previous games, there are enough moments that caught me off guard and he me invested in the story. For fans of the series it's good, but if it's your first one it might be a bit slow to start

Danganronpa V3 builds on the prior games by including some new twists and expanding on the hope/despair story. It's foundation is still the VN + Puzzle Solving mechanics with a "killing game", but there's enough new content and great writing to easily recommend this installment.

Never thought I'd have had time to play the first game in the series, but here I am, five years later, 30 hours deep into another Daganronpa. This one follows a similar template to the first two but the level of polish on this version (even on Vita) is staggeringly impressive. If you've played any of the other games in the series, you'll know what you are in for here but I'm always surprised how much this game takes me by surprise. If you like visual novels, games like Phoenix Wright, and have a desire for the obtuse when it comes to storylines and character development, I can't recommend this game highly enough.

If you enjoyed the previous two entries you will enjoy this one. One thing to note, however, is that this is not a direct sequel to the previous two entries, and you will have to watch some of the anime to firmly grasp the plot.

As a lover of anime and this being my favorite game series I would highly recommend this game. But it is rated mature for violence and language so not appropriate for all ages.

The swan song to the series and if you played previous entries, you're in a good position to know how this plays out. For new comers, you can play this no problem but there's nods and references to previous games as mentioned
