Not what I expected. Was pretty upset to find that these are not all the original Daria episodes. Upon opening the box you'll find a note from the maker that says that these are not all these are the originals. The music has been changed due to royalty charges and the condition isn't so great. The pictures and sound are ok but it isn't full screen. You can see on the outline of the video clip, the video reel clip iself. To top it all off my dvds skipped and one of the dvds doesn't even actually work! I was happy to have the cartoons but angry that the quality isn't great. I feel mislead.

I had forgotten how funny this show was! I watch an episode and when its over I find myself eager to watch another! Eight seasons with two full length movies Is the perfect Daria collection!

It's not as good as I remember. I thought it would be good.

The best part of this show was the soundtrack. Unfortunately they were not able to secure the rights to the music and instead offer quasi elevator music in its place.

Daria is a bit old now, so may not be a favorite for everyone. But I like this series, so it's a good addition to my collection.

Music clearance issues aside, this is a worthwhile purchase. "Daria" is a rather peculiar show when I saw it as a child. BECAUSE I was a child, I didn't get most of its highbrow colloquialisms conveyed as humor, and mostly laughed at when Daria's father, Jake, gets angry. Being older, I understood most of the jokes and I laughed at most of the season one episodes, which didn't happened to me before. It definitely works better as a mature show for a mature audience, and by that, I mean it's for smart people, not for something sinister to the gutterballs that this show makes fun of. Seasons one and two were the strongest that the series has to offer in terms of humor and grounded storylines. Season three took a bizarre turn with surreal elements like the musical and humanized holidays, but it does have some good episodes. Season four takes a bit of the dramatic turn once a new character named Tom steps into the picture, which some fans of the show don't like but I personally don't mind him; this season also shattered Daria's sarcastic ego a bit. Her attitude had an even bigger change in the final season, to the point when she's started to rely on the very people she despised. I like how much she has changed over the seasons, from being a non-conformist misanthrope to learning she's following the same patterns as the people she hates (although she still has that wonderful cynicism), making her less of a character type and more human. That's what I like about this show, people changing and learning about their state of beings. Most characters won't change, but by the end of the series, it's easy to see how far they have reached from the beginning, even if its subtle. Moving on from the content itself to the technical aspects of the DVD. The extras are pretty worthless, although kudos for MTV having the two movies. They're packed in the same bonus disc, so they are continuity issues since "Is It Fall Yet" takes place after season four; also, it only has the edited version of "College" which is a bit of a letdown. It does have the Daria intros scattered across the first five DVDs, but they're set within the episode selection, and it doesn't indicate which episodes have the intros until an episode has been selected. The intros themselves are rather amusing, but worth seeing only once. It's a DVD set that's worth it only by the content itself, and the content is strong. If you want a cartoon with a cerebral attitude and sarcastic charm, this is it.

Daria is about a teenage girl with a sarcastic attitude. She's one of the smartest characters in the whole show and if she were real, she would be one of the smartest girls you would ever meet. I was terribly sad when Daria ended. I watched this show way before I entered high school and I still enjoyed it. She had such a quick wit that was always a laugh to hear. I could relate to her feelings of being surrounded by superficial people and their idiotic comments. She should be looked at as a role model for many teens. She wasn't unbelievable either. She had a crush on her best friend's lowlife of a brother, Trent. She had her own human flaws and she learned from her mistakes in many of the episodes. She came off as being sarcastic and full of dry wit most of the time, but she was the awkward teen that we could all relate to. There hasn't been an actual witty teenage show like this one since.

I was a big fan of Daria when it was on TV in the '90s. I am glad to see that the series was finally released on DVD. Its well known among the fan base that the music clip licensing issues is what held up the series being released. They decided to replace just about all the music on the series to bypass the licensing issues. Luckily though, they kept the main title music. Unless you are one of the most hardcore fans that memorize episodes, you will not notice the difference in music. I did in only two episodes and that is because they were my favorites and had those episodes memorized. The quality of the DVDs are excellent. If you were a fan of any scope of Daria, then you should get the DVD set. I'm glad I bought mine.

I think the main hype over this is that this is a classic MTV show that has finally resurfaced in DVD format for us to enjoy! I am SO happy that I was finally able to save up enough money for this. I used to watch this show when I was in elementary school! Back then I barely understood what was going on, enjoying more the weird teachers and connecting with daria and her friend being outcasts. Now I watch this as an adult. It's the same show but I see the different side of it. I love the humor and cynicism that Daria conveys. The show overall is very well put out. Of course it's great to be able to look back and reminisce about your childhood but the show DOES stand on it's own. My friend was raised in Brazil and whether it's from lack of popularity there or whatever, he has never seen the show. I plan on sharing it with him as soon as possible!

Daria is a classic animated TV series that showed on MTV in the late 90s. It's a satirical story of stereotypical high school characters with Daria, as the protagonist. Daria is hilariously sarcastic in every episode and easily identifiable as the I-just-want-this-day-to-end girl. The show is an alternative to the blunt nature of Beavis and Butt-head with it's more witty humor. That said, I enjoy both and could watch either for hours. As the show is set in high school, it would be most relevant to those in high school or beyond. A great piece of 90s nostalgia.

This is complete, plus more! It has every episode from the series plus the 2 specials; as well as a bunch of bonus content. Such a great, eloquent series that is a defining stamp on 90's culture. Well written and funny. It is a perfect companion to Beavis and Butt-Head because it is a great opposite, yet still important. For the price and the way it is perfectly packaged, this is a Must Buy!

Daria is finally available on DVD after all these years of begging. It is perfect in every way. This set includes every episode of Daria and allows you to choose between the standard intro or the Daria Day intro on some episodes. It was great watching these again. This set includes both movies and many special features. I am very happy with my purchase thanks to Best Buy and their excellent customer service!

The dvd is absolutely great!!! Wonderful show that ran from 1997-2001/2. While the songs changed a little bit from the original episodes. Overall great series, and loved the pilot episode, make me want to buy Beavis too. Kinda wished they would have done/shown what happened after college and what happened to Tom and Daria as a love spinoff, him being her only boyfriend in the series.

Daria is one of the best characters in any media. I love how she is able to say anything that pops into her head without feeling any remorse. he writing in this show is absolutely genius. It touches upon both the positive and mostly negative parts of high school. This is truly one of my favorite TV shows.
