Overall the game plays really well. I played through all of it and did not experience any frame drops. The graphics are sharp and look pretty much identical to the original version of the game. The one thing I noticed that bothered me initially is that the audio is pretty poorly compressed. It sounds dirty and muffled. I got used to it as I played, but it was pretty jarring at first. All in all, I recommend this game to veterans and newcomers alike.

If you are a fan of Dark Souls and would like to play on the go, You can count on this port! Graphics looked better than I thought it would being on a weaker system. Does run at 30 FPS, Which is 30 less than the other consoles but stays true to the original.

Dark Souls is certainly not for the faint of heart. People looking for a game that is challenging and tests you on your reflexes. Then look no further! Dark Souls is game based on pure skill. From every attack and dodge you make, to every enemy you come across on the battlefield. Dark souls shows no mercy. Players who like games with fancy narratives and not dying an astronomical amount of times won’t find anything here. My personal opinion is Dark Souls is a really great game. For a game that’s been out for many years it still holds up quite nicely. I died a lot throughout my playthrough but, I kept at it til I was able to slay certain baddies and bosses. It just felt so rewarding. I admit Dark Souls isn’t for everyone. On the flip side I believe that everyone should give the game a chance. Just have a mentality knowing you will die at times and just being purely persistent from the start will cause you to see the charm in Dark Souls. My personal opinion is that this game certainly is a gem and I’m happy to know Dark Souls is part of my collection.

I was one of the few people who had never played a game in the souls series, so when I picked this up I was not sure what to expect. All I can say is it's very enjoyable but has a steep learning curve. You can't just go in flailing around as you might in other hack and slash titles. You need to concentrate and learn the nuisance of it's unique gameplay. You have to learn the patterns of enemies and how to combat them. I could easily see how some might find this game extremely difficult and frustrating, but it's certainly not for everyone. This game is made for hard core gamers. DO NOT play this if you are looking for a more casual experience. Still, as hard as it is sometimes I find myself drawn into it's charm and world. I am still learning the ins and outs of it's gameplay / buttons / style but I think the more I play the more I enjoy it. Good luck, be patient

I own Dark Souls for PS3 and sunk a ton of hours into it so when I heard it was going to be released on the Nintendo Switch I had to pick it up. Dark Souls was, and still is, an amazing game. The game was ground breaking in so many ways. The idea that you can now play this incredible multi-player coop game on the go is amazing. This remastered version is graphically, slightly better than the original PS3 version but if you’re looking for some drastic graphical improvement over the original, this remastered version will not give it to you. On the other hand the game is still great and if you never played the original I highly recommend picking the game up. Even if you did play the original it is definitely fun going back and revisiting these incredible landscapes.

It is extremely hard but a fair game the graphics look pretty impressive on the switch it handles a lot better than the game originally did especially and send them more harder parts of the game I would recommend this game I found no bugs package arrived on time and no damage

Such a fun game, but it took me a bit to get into it. It def grows on you overtime.

This game is really hard and has a steep learning curve. It requires you to perfect every stage of it, and can be quite frustrating at times. It also makes my heart race, which is a ton of fun! I didn’t beat the game, but I enjoyed playing it.

This allows me to level my character up a lot faster as i can grind souls on the go(ok die a lot of times while i'm at it). Those who've played th original will not have a problem as there's modifications here and there to keep you on your guard.

They did a pretty good job porting this over to the Switch. The graphics look a little bit better than the original. This game is HARD. I am not good at it yet, and I hope I don't throw my Switch while playing it. Good game though.

The people who made this game are evil. It’s difficult in the best way. Having it on the go means you can pick up and play through out the day. Could not recommend this enough

The world of Dark Souls is a unique place where precision and patience rule. This is not an action-packed adventure for the easily bored: if the thought of backtracking and fighting the same enemies countless times troubles you, then steer clear of this one. This game is tough, but those of you who have played Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls 2 or 3 know what this game has in store. It’s gratifying to finally defeat that irksome boss, uncover a new location, and retrieve your lost souls. The Switch port is near-perfect. We need the other FromSoftware games ported to the Switch!

They managed to really put this game on the go and it looks amazing, It runs great with most of the glitches and issues removed from the original game, can't go wrong with this if you wanna replay the original Dark Souls.

I love souls games and I’ve been a big fan of dark souls and bloodborne on the ps4 when it was released on the switch I had to get it to play on the go! Its pretty hard but its worth it in my opinion.

Having almost beaten the game already, I can confirm it runs beautifully on the switch. Stable 30 FPS (even in Blighttown). I forgot how amazing this game really is.

Its amazing to be able to play dark souls on the go. The only thing that takes a bit of getting used to is the controls, but everything works as expected. Great game, and hopefully the others come to switch as well!

I’m a huge souls fan. Bloodborne was my all time favorite game on the PS4. I love that I get to see the day that we can take a souls game on the go!!

And not a complaint about it. This is clearly based on the original version of the game, and not the remaster on other platforms. This is good in places as the game retains its intended look, and this is the best running version of the original graphics on console. It does feature the non-graphical improvements from the recent remasters which for many will make this the actual definitive release. Also includes a virtually pointless Amiibo integration because why not?!

The 1st Dark Souls game is the best. It set the bar for the franchise. To have it on Nintendo Switch is just perfect. It's better than the original release, hence remastered, and it's just as hard!
