The game plays great on the switch. I've yet to see any stuttering in gameplay and the frame rate is smooth as butter. The only complaint I have with the game is that since it does have a big online piece to it you'll consistently get a prompt when starting the game up trying to get you to subscribe to the online service. That's more of a complain with Nintendo than with the game though, so it does not take away from the overall score.

This was the first time really getting into Dark Souls. I'm about 40 hours in and I've had awesome time. While difficult, it's not the impossible game you've been told about. You have to be very attentive and persistent in this game. You can't really pause the game. You will occasionally lose progress when dying. Dark Souls can dazzle and delight you one moment, then frustrate you in another. I'm really hooked. Game runs gorgeously on TV and handheld. Great game if you've finished Breath of the Wild and want another action/adventure type of game that'll push you.

Before this I only played bloodborne and dark souls 3. DS 1 plays great on the switch. Graphics are meh but that's expected. The game play is good. I had a lot of fun my first, second, and third playthrough. This is a great option if you haven't played Ds1, the mobile aspect is the best part. It also as all the DLC so ur good

I never had the chance to play the first Dark Souls on the last gen consoles, but once I heard it was coming out for the switch, I immediately pre-ordered it. Havin Dark Souls on the go has been awesome. Game is smooth and now you can "pause" when you suspend the console. Highly recommend!

I was so excited when this game was announced for the switch. This version clearly won’t be the best quality graphics wise, but the portability of the switch is where this version shines. This game looks incredible on the undocked screen and plays amazing. Docked mode is still really good, but won’t be as a good as ps4 pro or Xbox one x.

A convenient way to play a sprawling, engrossing, classic game. Newer online community features are good, and the graphics and sound are better than the original release on Xbox 360/PS3 with noticeably better frame rate. Note: if you need to quickly suspend the game, you may want to play offline.

Dark Souls is an amazing game and having it on the go is even better. It runs smooth and delivers a great experience. Nothing has changed content wise, so don't except anything to be different this time around. If you love Dark Souls before, you'll be happy visiting this old friend.

Dark Souls runs great and feels right at home on the switch. Surprised it got ported over so well. Having a dark souls game on the go is really something special. Battery drains a bit quickly like with Breath of the Wild and Skyrim. A must buy for any souls fan or someone looking for a challenge or looking to start the dark souls series.

I've owned this on PC, PS4, and now switch. While playing on the switch while it was docked, the sound quality isn't the best, but gameplay is still solid.

Grandson loves the switch and requested this game for Christmas. Totally enjoys the game

I was one of the few people who had never played a game in the souls series, so when I picked this up I was not sure what to expect. All I can say is it's very enjoyable but has a steep learning curve. You can't just go in flailing around as you might in other hack and slash titles. You need to concentrate and learn the nuisance of it's unique gameplay. You have to learn the patterns of enemies and how to combat them. I could easily see how some might find this game extremely difficult and frustrating, but it's certainly not for everyone. This game is made for hard core gamers. DO NOT play this if you are looking for a more casual experience. Still, as hard as it is sometimes I find myself drawn into it's charm and world. I am still learning the ins and outs of it's gameplay / buttons / style but I think the more I play the more I enjoy it. Good luck, be patient

I own Dark Souls for PS3 and sunk a ton of hours into it so when I heard it was going to be released on the Nintendo Switch I had to pick it up. Dark Souls was, and still is, an amazing game. The game was ground breaking in so many ways. The idea that you can now play this incredible multi-player coop game on the go is amazing. This remastered version is graphically, slightly better than the original PS3 version but if you’re looking for some drastic graphical improvement over the original, this remastered version will not give it to you. On the other hand the game is still great and if you never played the original I highly recommend picking the game up. Even if you did play the original it is definitely fun going back and revisiting these incredible landscapes.

I havent really played most of the souls games besides 2. This game has been incredibly fun and the added bonus of being able to play this anywhere just makes this the best version to get. The problem is that I dont see much other people playing online.

This is an amazing game but very hard. Still stuck trying to defeat the undead asylum demon.

This is a great game and because it's such a grind to level up, what better way than to take it on the go with this very competent Portable Version to play on the go! Love it when I'm traveling, and the Nintendo Switch it's such a game changer for that! Great graphics play anywhere!

Growing up, games were hard and there was rarely a way around it. These days there’s difficulty but you can bypass it sometimes or just move to something else. Enter Dark Souls. This game is difficult and can be frustrating but that’s the point. It’s a game you need to really sink your time into to appreciate but when you do you’ll understand the hype. Very fun and very worth it

The game looks good andbis tough as nails. I know it is meant to be difficult, but the difficulty comes from the controls, not AI, which bothers me. It may be an issue with me, but when you get surrounded with no real way to fight myltiple enemies at once, the deaths feel cheap. I am going to keep going but the frustration level does make it tough. Enter at your own risk.

This game is really hard and has a steep learning curve. It requires you to perfect every stage of it, and can be quite frustrating at times. It also makes my heart race, which is a ton of fun! I didn’t beat the game, but I enjoyed playing it.
