This game is really hard and has a steep learning curve. It requires you to perfect every stage of it, and can be quite frustrating at times. It also makes my heart race, which is a ton of fun! I didn’t beat the game, but I enjoyed playing it.

A great port of a great game, optimized in some areas as well. The exact same experience as the first time you played it, there is no exclusive content, but it is a great game and the portability factor almost makes up for the premium price.

This allows me to level my character up a lot faster as i can grind souls on the go(ok die a lot of times while i'm at it). Those who've played th original will not have a problem as there's modifications here and there to keep you on your guard.

They did a pretty good job porting this over to the Switch. The graphics look a little bit better than the original. This game is HARD. I am not good at it yet, and I hope I don't throw my Switch while playing it. Good game though.

I love souls games and I’ve been a big fan of dark souls and bloodborne on the ps4 when it was released on the switch I had to get it to play on the go! Its pretty hard but its worth it in my opinion.

I played dark souls when it was on the ps3 but it never felt that fun but for some reason on the Nintendo switch it feels great and I’m enjoying it alot and I can also play it on the go so I get the best of both worlds

Its amazing to be able to play dark souls on the go. The only thing that takes a bit of getting used to is the controls, but everything works as expected. Great game, and hopefully the others come to switch as well!

And not a complaint about it. This is clearly based on the original version of the game, and not the remaster on other platforms. This is good in places as the game retains its intended look, and this is the best running version of the original graphics on console. It does feature the non-graphical improvements from the recent remasters which for many will make this the actual definitive release. Also includes a virtually pointless Amiibo integration because why not?!

Dark Souls remastered takes all of the classic rock-hard gameplay of the original and brings it to the Switch. It still plays great, and is now playable on the go. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent port. The graphics are good and the frame rate is great too. This is a hard game. So prepare to die a lot. It takes patients to learn but is worth the time spent.

Was always kind of intimidated with the Souls series but I finally decided to give the remaster a shot and I'm loving it so far. There is definitely a difficulty curve in the mechanics of the game but once you figure it out it starts clicking but I would advice looking up some tips because understanding the mechanics and how to build your character helps immensely. I game runs really smoothly as well both docked and undocked so they did a good job porting this over. I doubt we'll see either of the other games ported due to the switches limited power but I'm definitely going to buying the other games for the PS4.

Great port from the original PS2 version. Better graphics and gameplay is solid. Please if you have never played this game pick this one up it’s totally worth it.

My friend is a big fan of the series and he swears by the game; bit tricky to get started, but I think that's the point. No instructions, figure it out, look it up online type of stuff...Bit tricky with joycons, perfect with Pro Controller

Don't be afraid to get help from a guide! Despite what the "git gud" meme and hardcore Souls community say, if this is your first experience with Dark Souls don't be afraid to look up some things online. You don't want to spoil the whole game so don't go watch an entire Let's Play or read a walkthrough, but the game really explains very little to you. Use a guide to learn a few mechanics and find a few items, then trust that the game has given you all you need to beat that "unfair" boss. With practice and patience, anything is beatable. Only misses out on 5 stars because of a higher barrier to entry and, mostly, because of the poor audio quality on Switch. You learn to live with it, but the sound should be better. Fantastic game and I'm glad it finally made it to the Switch!

Been having a lot of fun playing the original dark souls on switch, great to have it on the go and can grind on it whenever I have a free moment

A fantastic game that has been updated and finally brought to the switch. Difficult yet rewarding gameplay that sets it apart from any other game.

This is exactly the same game as the PS3/360 version, but it runs a bit smoother. Also, the best thing, for me, is being able to enjoy it on a portable.

The portability for this is awesome. I bought this for PS3, and PS4, then again for switch just for long car rides. Looks good on switch too.

Out of the 3 games in the series the original is still my favorite. As far as graphics and performance even though this is the remastered edition, its more closer to the ps3 and 360 editions but with better optimizations. Blight town isn't a lag fest and if you don't like the shiny armor look from the ps4/xbox one then you'll be happy to know that the lighting is like the original version more.
