This remaster of Dark Souls for the Switch is amazing. It doesent lol as good as the other current gen remasters, but it still looks beautiful, especially when docked. This game is extremely challenging and you will die over and over again but that will not stop you from wanting to play more and more of it. This is one of my favorite games of all time and it’s been made even better with it’s new mobile capabilities on the Switch. This is a must own!

This was the first time really getting into Dark Souls. I'm about 40 hours in and I've had awesome time. While difficult, it's not the impossible game you've been told about. You have to be very attentive and persistent in this game. You can't really pause the game. You will occasionally lose progress when dying. Dark Souls can dazzle and delight you one moment, then frustrate you in another. I'm really hooked. Game runs gorgeously on TV and handheld. Great game if you've finished Breath of the Wild and want another action/adventure type of game that'll push you.

The game plays great on the switch. I've yet to see any stuttering in gameplay and the frame rate is smooth as butter. The only complaint I have with the game is that since it does have a big online piece to it you'll consistently get a prompt when starting the game up trying to get you to subscribe to the online service. That's more of a complain with Nintendo than with the game though, so it does not take away from the overall score.

The only reason I don't give this game a 5 star review is that I feel modern games have ruined our expectations and criteria for older games or remakes. This is a great game; ahead of its time when it came out. The graphics in this remake are beautiful. The game plays perfectly. Skyrim, Fable, Oblivion, and Zelda overshadow games like this because we each have our game that consumed our time and thoughts and which we compare other games to...but give this game a shot on its own merits and enjoy getting lost in the nostalgia---on a HANDHELD. Thank you for making this available.

very hard game to play ,great graphics and story line i really like it

I have never played any of the Dark Souls games (except Bloodborne) but I knew what to expect going in. This game is made to be challenging for action/adventure/RPG game fans. Between the beautifully grotesque atmosphere and fantastic tight controls, this game is worth playing. It is hard, and you will die. But if you like a challenge, get this.

Dark Souls looks very clean on the handheld screen. It is a difficult game but I like that you can save at any point. It helps when you are traveling!

And now it's portable. Looks great on the big screen and on the Switch's portable screen.

I have given this game 4 stars, because the quality of the nintendo switch version makes it a 3, but the game itself is a 5. Hopefully that makes sense. The game itself is incredibly imaginative, yet relentlessly challenging. Only pro gamers like myself should attempt this game. But yeah, the nintendo switch really kills the visuals of this game, but if you want to suffer the cruelty of this game on the go this is the way to do it.

A convenient way to play a sprawling, engrossing, classic game. Newer online community features are good, and the graphics and sound are better than the original release on Xbox 360/PS3 with noticeably better frame rate. Note: if you need to quickly suspend the game, you may want to play offline.

Have this game for Xbox, but it is so much better to be able to pick up and play on switch. Plays and runs great.

It is a great game with a good challenge but I wish we have the option to change the controls

Dark Souls runs great and feels right at home on the switch. Surprised it got ported over so well. Having a dark souls game on the go is really something special. Battery drains a bit quickly like with Breath of the Wild and Skyrim. A must buy for any souls fan or someone looking for a challenge or looking to start the dark souls series.

Absolutely love this game. My son played it on the Xbox for a while and likes it even more on the Switch. Well worth getting again for the portability. It's also better to have the cartridge than the electronic version so that he can share it with friends. I would recommend this to others.

This game is another prime example of the souls series, difficult and frustrating when things go wrong, but so rewarding when things go right. Think before every step, because a simple mistake can erase a lot of effort in this world. Challenging but rewarding, I love this game and the remaster is an excellent way to come back into the world.
