I also purchased Dark Souls Remastered for the PS4 and it looks and runs much better. But, if you want to play Dark Souls while on a plane, train or automobile, this is what you need to get. Still Dark Souls.

The classic game makes it's return, this time on a Nintendo console. Compared to other versions, the switch is lacking in graphic detail, something most Nintendo console users should be used to with ports and console versions, but what can be said about it is that the game plays extremely well in both docked and handheld mode. While graphics may be lacking, and I believe the switch version has fewer frames, the performance itself doesn't suffer for it. Not to mention the online is pretty good, and consistently stable

The game plays well, it has a few differences between the Switch and PS4/Xbox versions like lighting and textures, but overall it's great to be able to finally play a game like Dark Souls on my Switch!

I thought this was a great game, but i found it to be quite difficult. Still definitely worth getting. If like games that hold you hand, this is not for you. Excellent port for the Switch by the way!!!

So I’m completely new to Dark Souls, but it’s my boyfriend’s favorite game, so I was reluctantly talked into playing it. It’s tough. Mind numbingly tough at times, but simultaneously one of the deepest and most interesting games I’ve ever played. It takes time to learn everything, but once you do, it’s one of the best games you will ever play.

Dark Souls was one of the great gems of the last generation of consoles. A hardcore game with a steep learning curve, this remaster does Dark Souls justice by providing it in a manner that plays just as well as the original, but by virtue of being on the Nintendo Switch, allows it to be portable. Excellent game, though very much on the difficult side, as you may or may not have heard. Definitely not a first time game, but rather for those who are familiar with games and have good timing skills.

In the Switch edition you're getting an almost carbon copy of the original game from years ago. Frame-rates are stabilized and online function has been redesigned for more modern audiences. The game is infamously difficult but never cheap. The map layout intertwines with past locations bringing you a fully connected realized world. The lore, while very deep, is for those who want it but is not necessary for the experience. Give it a go, die a few times and learn the ropes and you'll be in for a great time.

This is one of my favorite games and having it on the switch makes it mobile so I can play it often. Wonderful graphics

To the people who already played Dark Souls: switch version is consistent 30fps(INCLUDING BLIGHTTOWN) with the same graphics as last gen consoles. All other versions is 60fps with upgraded graphics. Still the same awesome game we all fell in love with. To the people who haven't played Dark Souls: this game is not difficult. You just have to learn a different way to play a game. Throw out your gaming habits out of the window and get ready to enjoy one of gaming's finest.

This is an excellent game and it really shines in portable mode the game looks very similar to the Xbox 360 version

Really fun, no sacrifices for switch. It does highlight the limitations of the joysticks on the joy cons though

This remaster of Dark Souls for the Switch is amazing. It doesent lol as good as the other current gen remasters, but it still looks beautiful, especially when docked. This game is extremely challenging and you will die over and over again but that will not stop you from wanting to play more and more of it. This is one of my favorite games of all time and it’s been made even better with it’s new mobile capabilities on the Switch. This is a must own!

This was my first outing into the Souls series. I had heard that there were quite a few frame rate issues in the original. Well, those seem to have been fixed here. I sunk almost 100 hours into Dark Souls on the Switch (typically I’m bored with a game after about 20 hours) and I’m eager to continue the series if they release more for the console later

Come back to Lordran and this time take it with you. It’s a blast to play, I’m enjoying it thoroughly!

The only reason I don't give this game a 5 star review is that I feel modern games have ruined our expectations and criteria for older games or remakes. This is a great game; ahead of its time when it came out. The graphics in this remake are beautiful. The game plays perfectly. Skyrim, Fable, Oblivion, and Zelda overshadow games like this because we each have our game that consumed our time and thoughts and which we compare other games to...but give this game a shot on its own merits and enjoy getting lost in the nostalgia---on a HANDHELD. Thank you for making this available.

I have never played any of the Dark Souls games (except Bloodborne) but I knew what to expect going in. This game is made to be challenging for action/adventure/RPG game fans. Between the beautifully grotesque atmosphere and fantastic tight controls, this game is worth playing. It is hard, and you will die. But if you like a challenge, get this.
