This is an amazing game but very hard. Still stuck trying to defeat the undead asylum demon.

This is a great game and because it's such a grind to level up, what better way than to take it on the go with this very competent Portable Version to play on the go! Love it when I'm traveling, and the Nintendo Switch it's such a game changer for that! Great graphics play anywhere!

Growing up, games were hard and there was rarely a way around it. These days there’s difficulty but you can bypass it sometimes or just move to something else. Enter Dark Souls. This game is difficult and can be frustrating but that’s the point. It’s a game you need to really sink your time into to appreciate but when you do you’ll understand the hype. Very fun and very worth it

A classic game with challenging combat. Overall everything runs really well and looks pretty good. I've had a lot of fun playing through it again after all these years.

Don't let this intimidate you! One of the best and most rewarding games of the last decade. It is very difficult but you will slowly learn how to survive and overcome the many challenges. Not for the faint of heart if dying over and over frustrates you too much.

A great port of a great game, optimized in some areas as well. The exact same experience as the first time you played it, there is no exclusive content, but it is a great game and the portability factor almost makes up for the premium price.

Only purchase Dark Souls: Remastered on the Switch if you use your console in portable mode. If you like to play with it docked, and also own a PS4 or Xbox One, purchase those versions instead as the graphics are significantly better on the other platforms. That said, I move my switch around the house and play it in handheld mode, as it is easier to get gaming time in with a toddler. This version is slightly improved compared to the original on PS3, with all of the DLC and extra content. Dark Souls is an amazing game. This one nailed the level design and open world feel. Everything flows naturally and as you grow your character, you really feel like your world grows as well. The Switch version runs fine, nothing to write home about. It's really nice to be able to play this on the go, but putting the game into standby mode didn't always pause it for me. If you want a challenge and play your Switch on the go, this is a must have. Lots of replayability with new game +. I sunk over 60 hours into my first run (well, second, as I played it on the PS3 too), and was going to play again if I didn't have new games to play from the holiday rush.

Played it, had a blast. First time playing a souls game. Always wanted to play it, so I wanted to see if they would put it on switch and they did! Bought it and finish it! It’s a hard game but loved every sec of it!

    Dark Souls on the Go

First the bad, there's frame rate drops, especially in blight town if you played it before you know how annoying this was. The good, is that if you wanted to play dark souls on a airplane or trip then this is perfect. Haven't had the chance to play online yet since you need Nintendo Online for that but it's not deal breaker.

Used to play Dark Souls on PS3 and glad I have a version on the switch. Difficult game and some mild improvements. Looks great in portable mode, especially the lighting. Fire effects are jarring as it doesnt look good now, but most of the rest of the game has been retained. Hope it continues to receive updates and fixes.

This game is pretty tough but once you learn the mechanics and get more confident this game really opens up. The sense of accomplishment after defeating these epic bosses is truly satisfying and being portable makes it even better!

Average port with some FPS issues

The main perk of this game on the Switch is that it is portable (and of course on Nintendo) but the drawback here is that it's not very optimized. Compared to the other systems (PC / Consoles) it definitely has a graphically downgrade and the FPS just isn't very stable at many places. This has caused me to dislike the game more than I normally would. Now don't get me wrong, if you only have a Nintendo Switch and want to try out Dark Souls or have it portable, then by all means I think it's worth getting. But if you have access to buy it on another platform, then I feel you will find it more enjoyable due to how they didn't optimize this port properly.

For those who haven't played "Dark Souls," this is the perfect version of the game to start. Not as pretty as the other console versions, but what can beat playing Dark Souls on the go and getting frustrated and angry in public?

The Dark Souls you know and love. I haven't played any of the other remastered versions, but this is exactly how I remember playing it several years ago. Of note, I've encountered 0 noticeable frame drops (even in Blighttown).

I'm about half way though and really enjoying this game. Not for the player looking for an easy game though as you will die a lot till you learn your enemies well. If you like a challenge then this is definitely for you!

This is a modern classic that you can now play on a portable console! Sound quality isn't great and there are some frame-pacing issues, but for the most part it's a stable 30 FPS and is a great joy to play.

I played dark souls when it was on the ps3 but it never felt that fun but for some reason on the Nintendo switch it feels great and I’m enjoying it alot and I can also play it on the go so I get the best of both worlds

Ive been wanting to play the original Dark Souls for a long time and being able to find the Remastered version for Switch was a great deal for me. The game is great and can't wait to progress in it.
