Everyone with Geek Squad was fantastic! Each person I talked to was professional, courteous and personable. They were able to help me get my files from an old computer onto an external drive and they offered to recycle the parts I no longer needed. Can't thank them enough!!

Having spent 40 years in IT, it was VERY EMBARRASSING to find myself with a DEAD DESKTOP COMPUTER SND NO BACKUP! After considering a number of options I headed to BESTBUY. After ~10 minutes it was my turn and I was able to scheduled an hour later. The young technician quickly put me at ease and I turned my desktop over to him. I also purchased a Crucial X9 Pro Portable SSD in hopes that he could recover data. In less than 2 hours he contacted and said it was ready to pickup. The desktop was “dead” for my purposes, the important part (DATA) had been recovered! I don’t know that 100% of the data was recovered, but so far I have found everything I needed! After preaching BACKUPS to customers and employees for several decades, I learned a valuable lesson from a GeekSquad PRO!

I completed the Geek Squad survey I was sent for my visit, but i was working on my cell and lost the survey before I completed. When I finally got it back, it said it had already submitted. I had to try again to complete my feedback because of the stellar service I received. Dennis did a great job of checking me in and the download of material from my old computer to my new external hard drive by Min seems to be working great. I am writing particularly to commend the guy who checked me out, Matthew. Matthew checked me out fine and made sure I could access the material on the new hard drive. But, I was experiencing an issue with my current laptop, so I took a chance and brought it with me and asked Matthew if he could help. In 2013, I was living in another country and needed MS Word ASAP for a writing workshop. I downloaded MS Office and ended up using it for several years. Because it was costing me a lot more (monthly fee) than what Office costs in the US, when I returned to the US, I discontinued it, and bought the Office suite. It wasn't until much letter that I realized that all of the writing I had done at that 2013 workshop was gone from my computer. Another of your regular employees, whom I won't name, told me that my documents were gone for good when I got rid of the old version of MS Word. I was heartsick, but after digging around, I found my files sitting in an area called "Network". When I tried to access them, they would say they were downloading but just keep spinning until they timed out, so this left me fearful that they weren't really there. Matthew immediately recognized the issue and with a few keystrokes, was able to open my documents!!! I know this seems very minor, but it was HUGE for me. I cringed at the thought of losing all the creative writing I had accomplished that summer, but now, I couldn't be happier. I then asked Matthew about transferring the pictures from the hard drive to my laptop, and he demonstrated and completed the process for me in minutes! I then asked for advice about buying a new, smaller laptop that I can take with me when I return to my writing workshop this summer, and he gave me great advice on features to look for. All of my experiences with the Geek Squad and with Best Buy in general have been good ones, but it is employees like Matthew that keep me coming back: super-knowledgeable, super patient, friendly, and earnestly wanting to be of service. Bravo to Best Buy for having such a stellar employee!

My son had developed issues with his laptop computer and it came to a standstill when all he got was a blank blue screen. We took the computer over and talked to the Geek Squad. They provided great suggestions on how to proceed. We needed to get the 2T hard drive to back up all his music and data and some cords from home. When we returned with these they quickly got all his equipment logged in. The Geek Squad kept us informed on the progress and in a couple of days were able to restore everything to great working order from his back-up and he is once again a happy camper!

We were hoping to recover some files and images from an old computer with a very large but slow disk drive. It was tricky because of some damage to the disk, and each attempt took a long time. After many attempts over several days by various squad members, we finally recovered much of what we wanted.

I bought a new HP laptop and wanted to transfer the data from my 11 year old unit. I used Geek Squad to do this for me. Took about 3 days. When I picked it up the technician went over all the steps that they took to ensure my data was safely copied to my new laptop. I felt that everything was completed securely. I highly recommend this service

the agent who sold me the phone galaxy ultra did a great job of data transfer from the old to the new phone. She helped me understand what was going on and advised on setting up the new passwords and other service/app issues till I was good to go. Took a lot of stress off me.

Took in my very old Dell desktop to have files transferred. This occurred seamlessly and much faster than estimated. Thrilled with the service!

We buy just about every electrical , computers, phones, watches & TVs from Best Buy. Sometimes you may pay slightly more but most times everything is at a great price! I would purchase from Best buy even if their price was higher since we are signed up for maximum product support and protection. Every purchase we make is automatically covered. Many times we have had computer issues and the Geek Squad has been awesome in resolving the issue! It really is well worth the investment!

Hard drive information transferred from old laptop to new seamlessly; done in timely fashion too. They're knowledgeable and all transactions done quickly and efficiently. I was happy I went Best Buy route instead of other options.

My phone screen went completely black but my phone was on. So they were able 2 transfer all of my pics, phone #'s etc. And they put everything from my phone on 2 a sim card( i think thats wat its called).

Geek Squad did a great job helping me when water was spilled on my laptop. They told me what was wrong with it and suggested what I should do. I wanted to back up my data and I didn't have a hard drive, so they helped me pick one and then got the job done! I got my laptop back in a few days as well as the hard drive and they told me how to put all the data on my new laptop. Sadly it didn't get the notes off my desktop or any of my bookmarks from my internet browser, but everything else was there.

Had six or more external hard drives that were 10 plus years old sitting in my basement transferred to a new 2TB external hard drive. Also found a usb that can’t plug into my Macpro Laptop 13inch. Got all of them transferred quickly and notified by email and phone calls. Super happy I came here knowing what I saved back then was not lost forever

Best Buy solved a major malfunction on my HP laptop. Did not buy it at Best Buy - but they still did it. PLUS: they were able to fix it in two steps although they said it might take 5 steps and cost more. I would have no way of knowing if they simply chose to charge me or take a great deal more time to fix a product they did not sell to me. Fantastic work and zero issues for obe year since they fixed HP's mistake. Works better than it did when i got it plus i have a full back up of all my work - thanks to the geek squad.

I recently purchased a new desktop tower & wanted files and data from my old computer transferred over. I was given an appointment and was handled within minutes of my scheduled time. The young man working with me was professional, confident and after explaining what was involved labeled all of my equipment in front of me. Once the work was completed, I was notified and I was in and out of the store in minutes with my new tower & old hard drive in hand! I'm so glad I didn't try to transfer my data myself.

I bought my son a new ibuypower i7 computer. I also purchased a 4TB hard drive to add to it. His old computer needed to be replaced. The Geek Squad cleaned up the new computer, updating all the drivers, etc, and transferred all the data from the previous computer, which included approx. 400+ youtube videos that he had made. It was all done within 2 days and works great! I highly recommend doing this for anyone that gets a new computer. It gets done right and is a great service! Thank you!

Geek Squad team was very helpful and easy to work with. Only concern was difficulty setting appointments and long wait times in the store to talk to a tech adviser.

The geek squad was incredible!! I went in with my really really old HHD drive i got off amazon (brand - maxone). And I really thought it was done for. But they were able to transfer everything over to another drive for me!!

A tragic party foul left me with an inoperable beer smelling laptop the morning after. I was happy to find that the geek squad was able to recover everything on my hard drive even though the motherboard was damaged and my laptop would no longer power on. The whole process was easy with updates via email, but it took nearly 5 days to get my flash drive ready for pick up. Luckily, really important things were saved on Google drive, one drive , etc, so it wasn't too bad.

I am very pleased to be a Geek Squad Service Plan member. This program allows me to cover three devices. Part of the plan also gives me a sizeable discount on data backup. So when my laptop crashed, I only had to pay for a new hard drive and the rescue of my data. Whew...such a relief, because I had not consistently backed up my data on my external hard drive and I would have lost irreplaceable family photos and years of work in Word documents. I highly both these services!
