A concert tuned to your liking! No matter what genres you love, your ears will thank you when listening through the Definitive Technology DM80s. These towers deliver a powerful, immersive soundstage that can go toe-to-toe with bespoke speakers costing far more. Don’t get me wrong these aren’t a budget buy but for their class, they absolutely hold their own. Two-channel listening is elevated with crystal-clear clarity, rich presence, and a surprisingly deep low end. Live recordings come through with stunning separation, letting you feel every note as if you were right there in the studio. I’ve got the rear-firing speakers dialed back -6 dB, simply because my listening space isn’t large enough to pull the towers further from the wall. They still produce incredibly balanced sound. Currently, I’m running them on an older Denon AVR-X1300W rated at 80W per channel at 8 ohms, but since the DM80s are 4-ohm speakers, I’m realistically pushing closer over 120W per channel. These towers can easily handle much more, so I plan to upgrade to a dedicated high-end 2-channel receiver and power amp to unlock their full dynamic range. That said, it doesn’t take much to get them to reference levels and they do it effortlessly. As they stand now, these two speakers alone can fill my 3,500 sq. ft. home and still have enough power to disturb the neighbors, even without being centralized in the house. I would like to see custom finishes options to make them more appealing to living room esthetics.

Wonderful speaker. No need for external subwoofers as they have 12 inch powered woofers. But wait till they’re on sale.

These speakers are excellent. The sound quality is amazing at even low levels you can feel the lows and hear the crisp highs. The price was a little high so I thought until I did research on the speakers with similar speakers with same or similar specs and yes the price is better than the other name brand speakers. Also when you crank up the volume, the whole room shakes and no clips or distortion...Clean pure crisp sound...This is a great buy and the design is nice and technology put into the speakers are fantastic

The clarity, sound quality and presence from these speakers is unbelievable! These replaced a pair of BP9040's which I moved to my rear speakers and they blow them away. Treble sounds smooth and clean, mids are just right and the bass has an impact that hits you in your chest without drowning out the rest of the speaker. Doesn't matter if I am listening to music, watching Sports Center or Top Gun Maverick, they just sound amazing! As a former owner of the BP7002's and BP9040's, I can truly say Def Tech completely redesigned this speaker. It feels like an evolution that reached perfection of their original speakers and not so bloated like the BP8000/9000 series speakers were. Hopefully the new GaN FET amps that they put in the DM80's last longer than their previous class D amps as they would generally need to be replaced after 5-8 years so that could be a potential downfall but only time will tell. As for now I am loving them and if the amps last, this could be my last speaker purchase ever!

 These things by far sound amazing the clarity, the floor, rocking bass with music, Cinema movies and obviously you set the bass to your liking, whether you just wanna feel it on the floor or you literally want to feel your couch vibrate like you were sitting right there in your movie. I’m running a pioneer elite, and with the app you have even more control of your sound. My last home entertainment surroundsound with cerwin veg has lasted me 20 years and still works. My next purchase will be a more powerful AVR pushing more than 110 per channel. What I have now so I can really open these things up. I have a brick house which is very solid and you can hear these outside. 

I had the original tower speakers with the 12" sub from 2000. They were damaged in a flood and I replaced them with these. They are absolutely fantastic. No need for a single sub, as these two shake the house with ease. Make sure you have the required space for wall distance or they might not sound as good as they should. Do research on requirements.

Unbelievable... Better than every single other speaker I've heard in my local audio showroom. Paradigm, Bowers & Wilkins, Martin Logan, etc. all sounded so blah and muffled compared to these. Absolutely BLEW me and my partner away. The rear speakers on these are by far the best part because they legitimately make the sound have so much depth and you feel surrounded by the music. The subs built in are the icing on the cake but of course they wont be shaking your house like any SVS or standalone sub will. GET THESE SPEAKERS - they're incredible.

Ultimate full blown tower for Home Theatre experience. Considering the bass is attached with tweeter and speakers in one circuit. The sound spread is completely calibrated.

These are by far the best speakers I've ever heard! They sound like a dream. The clarity is so good! I love these speakers! There spendy but worth every penny.
