Exactly the right sound I was looking for. I got it for a steal and was thoroughly impressed. Plus the rep in the store really worked hard to find me this gem. Awesome.

For me this 1000 sounds better than the 2000 and I am using it in room 25x30 which is very open and is two stories high

This is my second one in 10 years. The 1st still works likes its brand new. Now I have a 7.2.2 setup. I use to own a very powerful 12" Bic F12 & this one keeps up just fine. I wants to get a smaller second sub instead of the Bic. So, since this one was on par with a 12" sub I decided to buy another one and I'm pleased. Definitive Technology has great customer service. I do not know why the rating are 3 stars on most websites but those reviews may not take into account of the users room volume. Big rooms need bigger subs. But this one does me right. Easy to hide under a coffee tables.

Wonderful subwoofer with great sound quality with such a small form factor. I have a large 2 story family room and it is still able to fill the room with wonderful and crisp bass. I highly recommend it especially given the small form factor. However do keep in mind it is expensive. Well worth the money if you can afford it.

Mangolia rep told me this sub was one of the best especially for price. We tried to preview it but the speaker inside the room was blown!? Although a nice sub, definitely not all that it's made out to be. For that price, I've heard better. The adjustment on the side of the sub is amazing. Perhaps if it wasn't for that I'd give this sub 3 stars. I understand why people like it and I can admit it's a quality product, but at this price point I expect 5 star product and this isn't quite it.

This sub performs very well. I was quite pleased with the size and weight of it. The volume control knob is a nice feature too

I’ve gone 10 years without springing for a stand alone sub for my 7 speaker def tech system running in a denon 4500 series receiver. Figured my pair of 8” tower speakers, also by def tech, would get the job done. And for the most part they surely did. Well recently I moved onto a yacht and could not figure out placement for the main left and right floor speakers as they are too big to fit. So I purchased this 10” speaker to hopefully fill the void. Did it ever and then some. If you are even considering getting a sub the stop considering and do yourself a favor and get one. Even if you have tower speakers with subs in them the stand alone 10” sub blows away the pair of 8” tower speakers. Really completed the listening experience from action movies it just listening to music. Can’t believe I waited this long. Def deck... well done.

Great full deep bass. It could easily overpower the system that it is part of. My favorite feature is the volume control on the side of the sub itself. Sometimes it is important to be a good neighbor. Then there are the other times. This sub is up for whatever! I truly love it!

This subwoofer is a perfect match with my Promonitor 1000 speakers and my Onkyo receiver. Our house has very high ceilings and the system is in a large room. This sub does an excellent job of filling the entire room with full sound. You can't beat this for the price!

Highly recommend this sub woofer for your large family room. Sounds great. Easy to install and set to your preferences. It will adjust to exactly the right sound for my room which was key to me. Good product design, heavy, looks great, definitely recommend.

Thought I might need 2 subs due to large size but this sub handles it well.

I replaced my aging proprietary Bose system with a new receiver and paired it with some new speakers and this Definitive ProSub 1000. When my wife comes home, she knows I watched a movie because the pictures on the wall are tilted over. The sub is filling infinite space in a large family room. The best feature is the dial on the side that can be used to adjust the sub if you want more punch during a movie/music, or turn it down at night while people are sleeping. Instead of having to fumble through EQ settings though your receiver.

I was running 14 year old JBL's for a 5.1 system. I was looking for an upgrade. I started researching and Definitive Technology kept coming up. So, I went in for a listening. I was impressed. But, I knew that the acoustics in the Magnolia room was a lot better than mine. I purchased the 5.1 system although the towers have subwoofers built in I wanted the stand alone sub. With the stand alone sub and built ins in the towers I'm getting a remarkable sound. Now I'm setup and enjoy the sound immensely I would recommend.

Does what I expected and does not take up too much room.
