purchased an open box sub. It produced a hum noise. tired fixing it. got it to work for a minute. The amp was bad. It sounded good for that moment I got it working.

This is the second ProSub 1,000 I own and am even more pleased with Definitive Technology !

When I needed a new subwoofer to replace my 24 year old BROKEN Velodyne subwoofer, I did some research and determined that this one would be a good replacement. I have not been disappointed.

i needed something with a little kick. this speaker has tons of kick and i can feel it throughout the entire house. awesome purchase.

Ordered this subwoofer for my home theater. First one had feed back. Best Buy replace it with no problem. Same issue turned out the wire best buy used was wrong wire. replaced wire no issue.

Got this sub to complment my other definitive technology speakers , easy setup. if you have definitive tech speakers make sure you get this sub

It is a bit pricy but worth the cost. Had to replace another brand that went bad.

It's got punch and feels great for movies. Falls a bit flat for music in 2.1 stereo. Too much vibration and not enough nuance.

If you already have Definitive speakers then this is the sub for you.

All Def Tech speakers offer the best sound per dollar.

Muddy and I suspect that the low frequency range is greatly overstated. If you want a lot of loud bass it does that and will make the windows rattle, but if you want tight accurate bass it seems there are better choices. The specs say it goes to 18Hz, but I suspect it's at least -20 or 30db at 18Hz and might be -/+3db at something above 30Hz. It seems impossible to find actual specifications on this sub to know for sure it was acoustically definitely NOT an improvement from my ancient 15" AudioSource sub, so it went back.
