I always expect my Definitive Technology speakers to sound great, but i had no idea how great these little speakers would end up sounding when used for music. They are perfect for surround sound, but when you play music through them in 5 channel or 7 channel stereo, wow!

Wow! These sound SO GOOD. Sound bounces around, so even in my oddly shaped room, it really fills in surround. Looks neat on the wall too. Heavy speakers, made well.

I have the 9040’s in front and center, the atmos caps and the 9040 rears really filled the room.

The sound is so clear and clean it makes listening to music and movies a whole new experience.

This surround is perfect for my def tech speakers. The quality of sound is excellent! I highly recommend this.

Purchased these to replace older speakers. These match my front standing speakers, same brand, color and style. Sound specs reflects the clear and sharp sound coming out of these. Happy with my new settings.

Added these to my all Def Tech setup, 7.2 (Minus Subs) to fill in the space between SB and Surround given length of the game room. They sound balanced and blend in well. If I had a smaller setup with less room they would be perfect surround speakers in a 5.1. At $199/each, steal for primeium sound.

These are great speakers, especially for surround speakers and height speakers

I have a lot of Definitive Technologies speakers and they are durable. I like to louder than most and few speakers stand up to the abuse I give them.

I needed to upgrade my surrounds from some older Bose speakers that were OK, but just were not up to producing full-range surround sound. They could handle louder effects, but ambient sound, crowd noises, and other surround activity wasn't quite what it should be. My room configuration is a bit off center, so I really liked that these speakers fire in two directions. Right out of the box they felt heavy (in a good way) and substantial. They also look really good and while they aren't tiny, they are unobtrusive and fit in nicely. But the sound is what speakers are all about, and the Def Techs handle everything that even a very surround-intense soundtrack (or multi-channel SACD) can throw at them. I'm hearing sounds I never heard before, and they are a good match with my Paradigm Monitor front and center channel speakers. You can buy surround speakers for less, and you can also pay a lot more. I had never really thought that the quality of the surrounds was all that important, but I was wrong, They are very important, and it's worth it to get decent ones. These are fairly priced for what you get and I am very happy with them.

Sound is amazing for movies. Sound dispersion is better than most. Less obtrusive than other rear speakers with similar sound.

I’ve had these speakers for a month now and one thing I have noticed is they are not loud or overpowering but fill in the surround nicely like they are not there. My old set of surrounds were cheap and you could here them like you had a speaker beside you in a bad way. These fill in the sound seemlessly if that makes sense. The sound is natural and now when walking around and playing music you do not need to be sitting the couch to hear quality surround.thought I would like them being louder but I love the way they are. The sound is amazing like you are in the scene not just hearing it. Would highly recommend these speakers!

Very pleased with purchase and sound. Great match for my Definitive Technology BP9040 and CS9040 speakers. Great sound even in challenging locations. Only knock is that I believe they are somewhat overpriced.

We have definitive tower speakers, was not getting much from the surrounds I was using. So we purchased a pr of the sr-9040, what an amazing not and day sound from them , extremely happy with them. May need to replace our center ch with a definitive bipolar speaker !

I bought these on sale to complete a surround sound system with definitive technology 9000 series speakers. They add a lot of surround to the room because of the speakers on two faces. I think definitive makes a good product that has a good sound. Using them for rear speakers.

These speakers have a great design and beautiful sound. They were worth the extra $$$ and we are pleased with the clear sound.

Highly recommend them. I wasn't sure whether to get these or the 9080's but these put out quite a bit of sound.....expecially if your playing a dolby atmos bluray. I like all of my equiptment to be of the same type so these round out the system. I'm very happy with them and can't give them anything but 5 stars.
