Very simple - are there stronger subs for the money? Sure there are. But are there any that are smaller than a 1' cube? None for anywhere NEAR this kinda money, especially when it is on sale. When footprint is considered, this little guy is a beast. For some perspective, I have Def Tech 9040 towers and the 9080 center, so I already have integrated subs. My setup is in a shared family room that opens into kitchen/dining area so it is LARGE, with high ceilings as well. Just for grins, I added one of these to the mix, not really sure if I would even hear it over the subs in the towers and center, but hey - it very much holds its own. It doesn't knock pictures off the wall in this large of a space, but it absolutely adds an element that was not already here. Even my wife and young children noticed immediately how much stronger the bass response was. And the kicker for me - it is not loose or sloppy in the slightest. It is tight, well controlled and yet still impactful. Very impressive, musical little sub. And thats the highest compliment I can give it. Former Magnolia employee.

I bought two of this Definitive Technology- SuperCube 2000 7/12 650W Powered Subwoofers for my theater room. I must say this is a good buy because the bass is absolutely outstanding. It does not overpower the room in anyway. In terms of weight, it is not too heavy and not light weight either. The size is just perfect as it's neither too small or too large for any sized room. I would strongly recommend purchasing this product.

The auto turn on and off is a bit of a pain. We have a klipsch system for our downstairs setup. The sub woofer went and purchased this def tech 1000. We have Definitive Technology speakers for our upstairs system. Love the clarity of it and new this sub would work fine. Tested it out at Best Buy and this thing is the best they have for the size. After getting the supercube 1000 it took some adjusting in the receiver settings so the sub wood kick on with tv and movie viewing at a lower volume. If you don’t adjust the settings on the receiver, you have to turn the volume up pretty high for the sub to come on, then you can turn it back down once it’s on. Once you get the fine tuning done, it’s a excellent sub with great punch for the size. It’s really nice because it’s not a big eyesore and easily to hide. Sounds great also, very crisp, punchy bass. You won’t find a better sub this small with this much punch. Definitive technology service is top notch! The top cover was damaged when we purchased the sub. Called them and just sent a copy of the receipt and they sent out a new one. Thanks definitive technology!

Looking for a quality sub to pair up with my Vienna Acoustics Mozart speakers for low end fill. This is exactly what I was looking for. Small footprint and sounds incredible. Nice deep bass, not boomy at all. What a fantastic match, speakers sound so much better. Simple connection. Bought open box, like brand new and couldn't be happier! Great job Def tech!!

This is a great little sub that can easily fill a medium sized room with deep bass. The sub is very "simple", there is just one RCA connection in the back with a volume knob. It would be nice to have a crossover adjustment knob, but I can live without it. This sub can really shake the floor if you crank it. The sound is deep without sounding boomy. I've always been happy with Definitive Technology products.

For anyone looking to add a subwoofer in their living/family room (or bedroom?!?) and your spouse doesn't want to have a "huge ugly box" sitting there, this is the perfect choice. It has a crisp sound that is not too "boomy" like cheaper small subs often are. When I think about my previous computer speakers and the subs that they had which were of comparable size, this thing blow those out of the water! Don't get me wrong, this will not be able to stand up to a 12" or larger sub. But honestly, it sounds just as good as my Klipsch RW-10D down to about 30 Hz. Below that, you'll need a bigger driver to get the air displacement if you want to "feel the bass." However we just wanted to have well rounded sound and this delivers this beautifully. On top of it, it's small enough to hide away under a table/behind furniture/etc. If you choose to not hide it because you've done the subwoofer crawl and it sounds much better out in the open, the piano black finish is very pretty and is even "wife approved." The only thing I'd warn everyone about is the price...it is often on sale well below the $600 regular price (50% off for the last 2 black Fridays) so keep your eye out of significant discounts before buying it.

This sub is a very powerful, but very small package. Don't let its small size fool you, the bass is deep, effortless, and strong. As a matter of fact, I needed to turn down the subwoofers volume to balance it to the rest of the system. All in all, I'm quite impressed with the performance. But it should be noted, it only has a LFE input, so it can only be used in surround systems with a receiver or system using a LFE subwoofer output.

Sooooo good after I bought my first one I went back to buy another! I’m using this with a marantz sr5013 and definitive 9040s and a 7.2 setup. These little guys pack a lot if power and play clean and can hit the low bass notes. I’m surprised how efficient they are in a room 20x14 feet with corner placements in corners of the room tremendous bass at mid volume. Jurassic park, Star Wars, a great sub for movies!

Dont let the small size of the cube fool you. It packs 650 watts of power. I have it hooked up as the primary subwoofer in the theater set up and it sound awesome. The fact that I bought it as an open box item made the deal even sweeter. The sound quality for the price is definitely worth it and makes this a value item.

This little sub packs a mean punch! All of my friends could not believe that this sub was the only sub that I had in my media room! I loved this sub so much that My wife purchased another one for me for my birthday alone with a new receiver! So now I have two super cubes with Deep, clear and loud sound! Be ready for your wall decor to shake!

I've owned this subwoofer for 3 months and it works awesome. It has a lot of bass, no distortion or rattle. I use it with Bowers and Wilkins in ceiling speakers for surround sound and house music. I had the B&W Subwoofer but the Def-Tech Subwoofer sounds a lot better.

My 15 inch Deff Tech sub from 2006 died , because it was such a good match with my Deff Tech Mythos fronts center and surrounds I wanted to try the Deff tech cube subs , I originally wanted the 4000 but no one had them in stock for immediate pick up . So I opted for the 2000 . I couldn't be happier . This little cube has some really big thump very similar to the 15" sub that died.

Replace an old 12" home theater sub that was huge by comparison. Pared with the 9040's and 2-Way surround and it really filled in the bass throughout the room. Really made the 9040's shine even more. Really like the small unobtrusive size and footprint.

Awesome power and great sound quality for its size, I bought it refurbished and returned it because of a small noise when bass went really low, I think a new item won't has this problem. Recommended for small to mid sized rooms, best suited for music but work very well for movies too

Purchased this unit because I was looking for more clear base to add to my home audio. The salesman didn't take much to talk me into it. He hooked it up, turned it on and I was sold. This little unit ended up being what I needed. I have about 800 sq. ft theatre room that I needed the sound to fill and my 100 watt Polk simply wasn't enough. This sub makes a world of difference from the paperbag sound of the Polk that didn't have enough power to handle what I was trying to do

Forget the size. Super bass from this cube. This subwoofer provides superior LFE response for movies without the need to drive it at high volume levels. I considered this the best performer for the price when compared with other subwoofers between 8 and 10 inches. Perfect for my medium sized room with the volume control set at half.

Putting together a new Home Theater system is not an easy task. People have different viewing and listening preferences and sometimes a one brand solution may not provide the ultimate satisfaction for the value. I had done some research online and selected a different subwoofer. I had the great fortune of having a seriously knowledgeable salesman help me get the job done. He explained the differences, asked about my preferences and highly recommended the Definitive Technology Super Cube. I was not familiar with the brand but trusted the advice I was given. It is perfect for my room and setup. It is remarkably small for the output against what I was accustomed to. It mated very well with the Marantz receiver. Just a note about my salesman, it has been some time since I have been so impressed with the knowledge, courtesy and efficiency with which any transaction was handled. Kudos to BestBuy for havinf such a fine young man on staff and so well trained.

Great subwoofer. This is the 2nd time I've purchased this sub, first for my home theater in basement, and now for to replace the components in my living room. Sound is perfect...well worth the price.
