I looked at a few of the mid priced sound bars , for a little bit more you get a lot better sound. Listening to music a lot more because of this !

After reading reviews of many sound bars, we visited Best Buy to hear them. We liked the Definitive Technology Sound Bar the best. It has tremendous sound and includes a sub woofer. We particularly liked the center speaker control adjustment to hear speaking better. It also fitted perfectly in our entertainment stand.

Easy to set up; great sound. DTS even sent me a new router to support the increased requirements for my internet. Can't wait to start adding additional speakers but for now the soundbar and subwoofer are wonderful.

    Best Soundbar Ever

I was hesitant to spend this much on a soundbar ... I tried some cheaper ones from Samsung and Sony, and they sucked. The Heos bar simply didn't work (and their customer support is atrocious). The Sonos bar was ok, but didn't fit under my TV. So I finally tried this one - the one the Best Buy guy originally recommended. The dude knows his stuff. The sound quality, and clarity (especially dialogue) is amazing. When I watch TV I just sit there and smile. Worth every penny.

Was originally looking at the cheaper Samsung, Polk, Lg and other sound bars but sales people showed me this and I was hooked. I loved the sound quality, build and design. I paired theses with two W7 speakers from Definitive and everything sounds awesome. Only thing is that these are a more expensive than a lot of other alternatives.

Clear sound, not so simple set up

Clear sound especially vocals because of center speaker and 3.1 setup. Make sure your TV has optical output as this soundbar doesn't use HDMI. It can be reprogrammed to use different remote commands so will be compatible with just about all remotes but you need the original remote to set it up so don't lose it. Power brick keeps size on wall down but makes running cables in wall harder. Looks great. Wireless connection to subwoofer just worked. Firmware updates can be done by app on phone but are finicky, took me 10 tries to get it updated. Don't know what the benefits were but the app to stream to it said update required. Plenty loud in my living room, doesn't get harsh or boomy, but hard to lipsync audio because of optical connection instead of HDMI / CEC support. I like it but probably wouldn't buy again, easier to get something made by your TV manufacturer for simpler compatibility.

Dont let the slim compact size fool you, this soundbar packs a punch. It has outstanding sound clarity, cristal crear fidelity, solid clean base and a elegant design. Definitive Technology knows how to build real sound. This system will blow Sonos out of the water, no other soundbar in the market can compete with this. Music sound awesome, but where it really shines is on movies, since it has a dedicated center driver for voices which you can control the volume separately. The base can also be controled individually. Go to BB and demo this soundbar, you will fall in love with it. Forget about Bose, forget about Sonos, this is what you need to get if you are an audiophile like me who will settle for nothing less than the best.

I was very concerned when I made this purchase. I was not sure that it was going to be able to fill the void left by the 7 channel Sony sound bar that ended up with a blown sub. After I got it home and set it up, the sound didn't seem to fill the room...... Well, as with all new pieces of tech, if you don't set it up correctly then it won't work as expected. Corrected the rookie mistakes in the setup and WOW!!!! Just to test it I watched a few of the Transformers battle scenes. I was sold at that point. A few days later in a demo to the wife and friends, the sub vibrated a few pictures off the wall and they all wanted on :)

I installed this sound bar below on our master bedroom TV (wall mounted) and love the size and depth of sound it provides. The subwoofer is awesome and out-of-sight with wireless connection. High quality look and feel as well. The Difinitive Technology app lets me connect the sound bar with subwoofer as a component of my whole house sound system. Great sound for both TV and whole house music; the complete package. We have an additional five W7 speakers and W Studio 5.1 sound bar that fill our home with great quality sound. Great service and support as well from DT/Polk.

Nice quality sound and easy to use. Sleek design blends into the wall nicely and doesn't clutter the area as many other sound bars are much clunkier.

I got this on a great sale (almost 1/2 off). The sound bar is nice and compact, but produces GREAT sound quality. The sub produces sound that you really feel. I like the 3-channels because it's easy to hear the voices over the background sound. It was easy to set up - I had it up and running within 10 minutes (probably less). It does come with an optical cord, so you don't need to buy a separate one.

The sound quality from the sound bar is terrific. Crystal clear highs with great projection through the room. The bass can get a little sloppy if turned up, so I keep it neutral to negative. I don't love the app, but I have not had the issues streaming music that others have noted. I use Pandora seamlessly. I bought two of these units and would reccomend as well as consider getting other speakers to network througout the house. Sleeker looking and better value than sonos with no sound compromise.

Sound bar delivers great sound. Sleek modern look, wifi connects easily for my setup. Remote control needs improvement, too small, easily misplaced and the buttons are very stiff to operate. Setting up system was pretty simple. The challenge came when I worked to set-up additional speakers.

This sound bar has a thin profile and you would not expect it to sound as good as it does. It produces a big sound from all directions. It did a great job of producing surround sound without any actual rear surround speakers. The subwoofer was loud and produced nice low level bass. It filled my living room with no problem. The only issue I had with this entire package was the remote. The remote was flimsy and almost unusable. It had no back-light and the buttons were awkwardly raised. It also gave out on me within days, just died. Aside from that the sound quality on this sound bar was great!

I purchased this after owning an older Bose model. The sound on this is fantastic. Overall, I've been super impressed with this unit. I love the ability to tune the center channel a little louder for voices. I've also paired the wireless Play fi speakers for 5.1 surround for movie night Pros Slim profile Big bass Wireless music for the whole home High quality audio Cons Clunky play fi app (after setup I just used Spotify)

I am very happy with the sound bar. I listened to a few sound bars and this one really sounds good. I had the Polk omni for a couple of days but I wasn't happy with the sound quality. I really didn't want to spend more on the Definitive but I am very happy I did. The sound for music is great as well as for movies. Could use a bit more control over the sound such as adjusting the different level of treble, mid and low but it is good. Also, no bluetooth but works good with wifi. Very happy with the purchase. Highly recommend it!

W Studio Micro Sound Bar Is Spectacular

Definitive Tech W Studio Micro Sound Bar 3.1 Channel I listened to perhaps 10 different sound bars at Best Buy before making the decision on the Definitive Tech Studio Micro Sound Bar. I tested Samsung, Klipsch, JVC, LG and Def Tech blew all of these away. If vocal clarity on your center channel is important this is your speaker. After much research I purchased this sound bar system. The sub-woofer at 50 watts produces punching lows in those movie scenes and the vocal clarity is excellent. The hook-up for control purposes was the primary driver for my decision. It is set-up with an IR imput on the back of the sound bar which we used to connect to our Control4 unit for optimal control of the sound bar. We had major issues with other sound bars concerning satisfactory operation of the sound bar. The program codes of the other sound bars we tested were not compatible with the C4 system. After connection was complete the Studio Micro performed beautifully with our C4 system. Thank you Def Tech engineers for this feature as it works great. Also, with the IR imput on the back of the Sound Bar you do not have an emitter placed on the front of the sound bar if you are using a mutli-control system such as the C4 system. For appearance purposes this is a must. We use this as our back up system when we elect not to crank up the 7.1 Denon surround and the Studio Micro does the job. Linking up the wireless sub-woofer is effortless and as Sound and Vision illustrates in their review of this sound bar its performance overall is better than expected. The PlayFi is also a major plus on this unit as we set up the Def Tech App on our dedicated iPad to control music around the house and on the patio. I also compared this unit to the Def Tech W Studio Sound Bar. However, we decided to go with the Studio Micro since it is much more aesthetically pleasing when placed on our BDI cabinet. The overall sound produced from this sleek sound bar is nothing short of amazing and when we want true surround for a movie we simply switch over to the 7.1 surround. For appearance, sound performance and overall value for your money this unit in my opinion is your best option.

This sound bar has a good sound that carries. I use it in my living room which is located next to my kitchen in an open floor plan. It carries the sound well without having to turn the volume up so loud. The subwoofer also helps give it the bass you want without drowning out the other sound. Best of all I like the small size of the sound bar. This is handy so that keep my sound bar in front of my tv and still be able to use my tv remote without the signal being blocked.

Definitive Technology knows how to make great speakers and they have certainly followed through with this soundbar. On the other hand, a soundbar in this price range should have HDMI output, more sound options rather than just a Movie setting and Music setting, and the ability to use TV remote controls to control the volume. I have a high end Samsung TV and a Direct TV receiver, neither of which has a remote that will work with this soundbar. I'd also like to see a treble control in addition to the subwoofer bass control. All in all, as long as you're willing to deal with these shortcomings, you're in for a great sound experience.

This is my second sound bar. I love the quality of the sound. Only thing I dislike is using two remotes to control my tv and the sound, because my cable box (xfinity) doesn’t recognize the device.
