This is the first time we've selected a Dell with the AMD chipset. Love it. Very well-equipped laptop with SSD, which is a must for our application. Great value as it was economically priced.

Less than a year, already dealing with Dell

The laptop works great, but freezes after 5-10 mins of use, even after a full OS reinstall. The problem showed initially, but I opted to keep the laptop because the only other alternative was a refund, and I needed the laptop (sales had ended that day). An OS reinstall/driver updates initially fixed the problem, but it came back in about 6 months, I tried to just deal with it but eventually it has come to wrestling with Dell for the past month. Not a great experience, but I guess this says more about open-box and the Geek Squad guarantee than the laptop itself.

We're sorry to hear about the crashes that you've experienced with your computer. We'd recommend the following steps to diagnose these crashes:
1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

The Laptop That Failed Us

The laptop was small and ran well, until you wanted to do something on the web or install any programs. It literally took about 12 minutes to download the FireFox installer. I couldnt even install after it was downloaded. I downloaded several times and each time I let it sit for an hour or two and it never finished. Windows Updates were even slower. I figured it may be the Wireless NIC driver. I downloaded it from another machine then copied to this nifty little laptop and could not even install it. I was about to wipe it and reinstall Windows but figured why put the effort to an out of box laptop. I packaged it up and took it back to the store. I eventually bought the same model laptop but with the Intel i5 chip. No problems there and it has been working great. Avoid this Ryzen 7 if possible.

Froze constantly

Which was only about 10% of the time. Granted to I work in IT, but should not have troubleshoot a device after just purchasing. Had it about a week before returning it back
