Strong Gaming Performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is my first experience with a curved monitor, so I was excited to try it out. Does having a curved monitor improve my gaming experience? I would say yes, but the difference is very subtle and slight, and you must be sitting very close to the monitor to notice. That is the main reason curved TV’s did not catch on, they are not big enough and people sit too far away to actually notice a difference. For PC gaming I sit right on top of the action, so I found myself enjoying the difference a curved monitor makes. Since it replaced another monitor of a similar size that I am very familiar with, I was able to immediately notice the improved immersion. The main factor being that my eyes were able to more easily scan the left and right periphery of the screen. The overall picture quality is excellent. The colors are rich and vibrant. The contrast is excellent and can produce very respectable black levels. Contrast ratio is in my opinion the most critical factor affecting picture quality, and this monitor does contrast well. This 1080P full HD panel is not perfect, but at this price range you will not find a better picture quality. This monitor excels at rendering fast moving games. The high native refresh rate resulted in no noticeable flicker. I was also impressed by how fast the response time was. I would describe the response time to be, for all intents and purposes near instantaneous, with no noticeable lag. This monitor is primarily designed for PC gaming, but I also tried it with my PS4 and it worked flawlessly. I normally prefer to play PS4 games on my large screen TV, but for those that like to play console games on a monitor, this panel works great for that as well. Since it is common to use monitors for multiple applications, I also tested it by watching videos and browsing the internet to see how well it performed. Video playback was very easy on the eyes, and most people will not have a problem using it to play PC games as well as an everyday monitor. It is not equipped with built in speakers, so external speakers or headphones are a must. This is not a problem because monitor speakers are usually too thin and small to produce satisfying sound. Using quality headsets or external speakers vastly improves the game playing experience. This monitor is equipped with 2 HDMI inputs as well as a DisplayPort input. I am glad that Dell has moved away from VGA inputs, and included the more capable Display Port input, which is more widespread and useful than VGA. Included in the box is a DisplayPort cable. Overall I am very impressed with this gaming monitor. How much the curved screen makes a difference will vary from person to person, but I am enjoying it and highly recommend it if you are in the market for a gaming monitor in this price range.

When it came home the box was literally open, without even duct tape or anything. Parts of the monitor stand were rolling inside the box, and of course, surprise!!! The monitor didn’t work. Just spend that little extra and get it new.

This is certainly not what we like to hear from our valued customers.
Your monitor has a built-in diagnostic tool that helps you determine if any screen abnormality you experience is an inherent problem with your monitor, or with your computer and video card.
1. Ensure that the screen is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).
2. Unplug the video cable(s) from the back of the computer or monitor. The monitor then goes into self-test mode.
3. Press and hold button 5 for four seconds to enter the OSD lock/unlock menu
4. Move the joystick to highlight the Diagnostic icon to run the built-in diagnostics.
5. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.
6. Press the joystick to change the test patterns.
7. Repeat step 5 and 6 to inspect the display in red, green, blue, black, white, and text pattern screens.
The test is complete when the text pattern screen appears. If you do not detect any screen abnormalities upon using the built-in diagnostic tool, the monitor is functioning properly. Check the video card and computer.

Misrepresented items in open box

It did not come with the remote, which is an additional $60. The sides and back of TV has deep scratches. The screen is perfect, which is what matters. The TV itself is amazing.
