My initial reaction to placing this monitor on my desk and hooking it up was how amazingly bright and crisp the display is. For reading code, text, and documents, it is very easy on the eyes, and it will make a good companion to my iMac 27" monitor. Attached to a Nvidia GT1030 video card provided better performance with Minecraft, No Mans Sky, and Civ V, than I originally expected. I felt that if I had a better performance video card, this monitor would easily have been able to handle it. That being said, my personal opinion is that this would be best served as a monitor for a stockbroker, programmer, writer, or anyone who needed multiple displays on a single monitor. The anti-glare coating makes this a great monitor for locations that have a lot of windows or lighting behind the user. Too bad I can't just fold this up and stick it in my backpack. The menu controls are very intuitive and I was able to adjust the settings to fit my needs without referencing any documentation. While the monitor itself IS very thin at 1.14 inches, the base extends another 4 inches. Hey Dell, if you're going to tout this as an ultra-thin monitor, at least provide a way to shift it closer to the back of the monitor base. While speaking of the base - the monitor can be tilted, but not swiveled or rotated. There are 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, and a 3.5mm audio port, but nothing else. I do appreciate having the audio port in a convenient spot without having to plug speakers into the back of the computer itself. Movies and videos looked amazing on this monitor and I didn't notice any ghosting. Overall, I get the feeling that Dell intended this monitor for use in a business or high productivity environment. I'm certainly considering making this my primary monitor for software development and technical writing needs. However, I am taking a star off for the lack of mobility in the base design.

    Nice General Use Monitor

Pros: • QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) • Thin Profile & Bezel • Adequately Sharp (at optimum viewing distance) • 2 x HDMI Inputs • Factory Color Calibrated IPS Panel (pretty accurate) • Bright Cons: • No DisplayPort • No Built-in Speakers • Tilt Adjustment Only (no swivel for portrait orientation) • No Vesa Mount I'm fan of Dell displays and have great experiences with the monitors I have owned. My last purchase was a S2715H 27" IPS HD monitor and have been really happy with it. The S2719DM is a nice upgrade. The first things I appreciated as I unboxed my monitor right away were the thin profile and thin bezel, very sleek. Color accuracy is pretty good out of the box and have used it for photo/video editing, web browsing, word processing and spreadsheets. It does have a slightly warmer color rendition than my 15' Macbook Pro Retina screen, but that can be adjusted in MacOS or in the monitor GUI and got the S2719DM in the ballpark of my MBP screen. The S2719DM display is plenty bright for usage in strong ambient light situations. For my use in my home office, where I have two lamps on at a time, I have the brightness set between 55%-65%. Anything higher than that, my eyes develop strain and fatigue quickly. Sitting about 24" away from the screen, text and images are adequately sharp. Compared to my S2715H, images are sharper and text is crisper. Is it Retina sharp? No, but its QHD resolution is nothing to sneeze at. I generally prefer 4k and Retina displays for maximum screen real estate. But if I had to choose between QHD and FHD resolution, I'll take QHD over FHD any day. A lot of my gamer friends like QHD as the sweet spot for increasing resolution without overtaxing the GPU. If you're looking for a good office use monitor (as long as you don't need swivel function for portrait orientation), this is a great office productivity monitor. This also makes a nice photo and NLE audio/video display. Aside from the limited tilt adjustment of the S2719DM, my other minor gripes about this display is the lack of DisplayPort, VESA mount, and lack of built-in speakers. The omission of speakers seems to be trend these days as manufacturers are favoring thin profiles and bezels. It's a bit disappointing that a monitor at this price point lacks VESA mounts for custom mounting. These are all minor niggles in the scheme of things. Overall this is a nice monitor and would not hesitate recommending this monitor for multi/general use.

This review is for the Dell HDR IPS QHD Monitor. This monitor is very sleek and sexy. Prior to this monitor I had a dual monitor setup, one 27” Samsung and one Widescreen LG 35”. My initial impression was that this monitor is very modern and clean looking. Just by taking it out of the box I was highly impressed. Dell has a reputation for making some high-end monitors, and this definitely doesn’t disappoint. There was no assembly required which is nice, just plug and play. There is however a proprietary power cable included, which can be more difficult if you ever need to replace it then just going to Best Buy to buy a generic cable. There are 2 HDMI ports on the back, I assume this is for connecting to 2 devices simultaneously along with an audio-out line. You can interchange between HDMI 1 & 2 through the On-screen display menu. This menu is easy to maneuver through which is more than I can say about other monitors I’ve used. I initially changed the Response Time to Fast and turned on Smart HDR to Game HDR. This monitor is attached to an Nvidia GT 1030 card and gets a nice resolution of 2560x1440. This monitor looks phenomenal! I’m very impressed with it. Not only did I get compliments from friends immediately after setting it up with its thinness, but color, contrast, and detail are outstanding. Its crazy how we can get comfortable to older technology and not realize what we have until we finally upgrade. The settings I have it on have a nice clean white color to it, but nothing too white as that can strain the eyes after long periods of time, a soft pure white is what I would describe it as. The black seems very dark as well. I didn’t expect this for a contrast ratio of 1000:1. I went back to use my other PC/Monitors and couldn’t believe how yellow they looked in comparison. Recommendation: If you are looking to upgrade, you won’t be disappointed in this monitor. With the high resolution you have plenty of space on your desktop and the rich colors provide an excellent stage for movies and gaming, along with its 5ms response time. Highly recommend.

Can't say enough how much I've loved using this Monitor! If you are looking, it's 100% worth the money and you will be very happy. PROS: - The look and design of the monitor is gorgeous. Very thin/sleek and the matte-like silver on it makes it look very modern. - The thin bezels on this are incredible! They really nailed the infinity type look of this monitor. - Functionally, it does not skip a beat. No lag on my computer work, movies, or gaming. Really you could use this as a TV and it would work great. - The Two HDMI inputs is a great piece so you can switch from using a laptop to a desktop or gaming console. It even auto-identifies what device is on and uses that input. - I have been using this with my Nintendo Switch and it has worked phenomenally. Just have to use headphones is all. - It compliments my gaming desktop tower really well! Works smoothly and is easy to read emails/news on or watch videos. - The HDR component makes images really pop. Although, you have to dive into the settings to turn it all on. CONS: - No speakers. This is fine for me as it makes it thinner but some people might desire them. - There are no mounts on the back or even an option to take the stand off. Makes it look more elegant and modern but you just could never mount it.

The Dell Ultrathin 27" S2719DM monitor is a superb display. It sports 2560x1440 resolution, 5ms response time and up to 600 cd/m2 of brightness. This is the first monitor I've owned where I had to turn down the default brightness. While it defaults to 60hz refresh rate, I was able to bump it up to 75hz in normal (non-HDR) operation. It certainly lives up to the Ultrathin moniker. It feels like it's about 1/4" thick, but there are no VESA mounting holes to take advantage of that thinness. You have to use the included stand. The bezel is 1/4" wide all around. As great as this monitor is, there are a few places where I'm left wanting more. This monitor only has two HDMI inputs. No DVI. It doesn't have any speakers. The power supply has a light at the end of the cord which casts a dim white light mostly onto the base of the stand, but there is some light cast onto the wall behind my monitor whether the monitor is on or off. The resolution is great, I can cascade several windows without feeling crowded. I've had to increase the text size in a few applications to transition to this resolution, but it's quite comfortable and text is sharp. Colors pop in normal operation. Colors really stand out in HDR, although the HDR doesn't punch hard enough for my taste. Monitor control is achieved by 5 buttons on the bottom of the monitor on the right hand side. They are much more preferable than my work monitors with soft-buttons that don't register my touch half the time. And I like these buttons more than Samsung's Joystick on the back of the monitor. It really is a superb display and while I am disappointed with a few options, I kinda wish I could afford a second S2719DM.

This monitor has an amazing picture. My desk faces the same wall my TV is on, so I was looking at them, comparing them alongside each other, and this device is so much better-- the clarity of picture, and response time alone. It's actually smaller than the TV in that room, but the picture is so much better it doesn't seem smaller. I haven't used a monitor quite this large before, and it adds to the overall experience online. I will definitely spend more time streaming videos on this, and can work from home using this set up as well. I found myself wishing for a remote, which this does not have, since it's a monitor and not a TV, but the buttons are well placed so I can make changes if necessary, but the monitor I received did not need any picture adjustments right out of the box. Set up was easy; while I was loading the CPU I made sure it was in English and checked one other thing, and then it was ready for use. I also like that you can adjust the viewing angle, and have already found that a useful feature. The description mentions that it prevents eye strain. I have not been using it long, but so far it does help with that. It's part of my home set up (although I'd love to bring it to work with me!), so I'm using it after a full day of work, and that is something I look for in a device. The box did arrive damaged, but that's a minor shipping issue, and there was no damage to the monitor; it was well-packaged, and that's probably what protected it from damage. I would definitely recommend this device for computing needs, whether business or recreational.

This one is a little pricey, I will admit, but it's honestly amazing! Forewarning though, I'm not a pro graphic designer or anything, so if you want a more professional opinion, go elsewhere. Do note that the "fast" response option tends to have a lot more ghosting than at normal, if you use a NVidia GPU, but otherwise, it's tolerable. There is a bit of backlight bleed, but I found that it slowly went away after a little while. Been using it for about 4 months now and haven't had any problems at all. In fact, I think the backlight bleed has completely gone away now. If you get a monitor that has some backlight bleed, unless it's super bad, just leave it be for a while. Eventually the screen should sort of.... Settle.... And it will go away. I honestly barely noticed any when I got mine right out of the box. Unless I put my monitor in a super dark room and put a pitch black screen up, it was unoticeable. So yeah, definitely a good quality monitor. I also love the sleek design! It's almost like it floats! in terms of the display, the colors pop real nicely and the blacks are REALLY black. Then again, I used a cheapo TN display for about a decade, so this is actually very new to me. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who wants a good IPS monitor! It may not be the best for gaming because of ghosting (if you are competitive, and not just a casual gamer like me), but it does well in just about any other situation

This is definitely the thinnest monitor I have ever seen. It is lightweight, too! Taking it out of the box, it was ready to go. The base and stand are metal, not flimsy plastic like many monitors. This allows it to sit solidly on the desk. The only physical adjustment for the monitor is tilting the screen. It does not swivel or have height adjustment, which is why the monitor does not receive five stars. All of the adjustment buttons are under the bottom right-hand side of the screen. Another item missing from the monitor is a USB port. Although the computer does have ample USB ports, I like when the monitor also has them because it's easy to connect a thumb drive or other peripheral to the monitor rather than fumbling around with the desktop unit. The color on the monitor is excellent. I have used it to look at blueray videos, zoomed in pictures, and streaming video. In every case, the monitor showed as much detail as the particular media could offer. I also have another brand of monitor that is a similar size and age. Hands down the Dell monitor is the best overall for picture quality, and the Dell does not show any random lines or squiggles. One neat item is that it has two HDMI inputs. So, I can have it hooked up always to the desktop unit, and keep a second cord attached for times I want a larger screen while using my desktop. It's fairly easy to switch between HDMI 1 and HDMI 2. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor

I love this little (big) dell 27 inch 2k monitor for real. I’m coming for a 1080p all in one and I thought that screen was nice. But this one blows that one out of water. Not just because it’s 1440p but because of the higher brightness rating and ips. It’s just soo sharp and crisp. Also the design is super slim. I get compliments all the time. Just looks high end. This has 2 hdmi and I believe a port to be controlled by a dell to automatically turn the monitor on. I have yet to get that wire. I’m learning. But overall this is a beautiful screen. I find my self watching more videos on YouTube and gaming a bit more now that I have a nice monitor. They did very well with this monitor. Now there is one thing that may be a bother to some. And that’s the fact that this monitor doesn’t have built in speakers. Which since I’m newer to the stand alone monitor game, this might be the norm. Lol. I have studio monitors anyhow. So doesn’t effect me one bit. Highly recommend at this price point.

I have chosen Dell monitors for years now as they offer incredible picture quality at a reasonable price. I chose to use this 27" monitor for my two sons to use for their homework PC as well as the occasional games. The first thing you notice when taking this monitor out of the box is how incredibly thin it is and the second thing you notice is that generally, the build quality is incredible. I say generally because there is one aspect of the design that lets it down and that is the placement of the control buttons. Or more accurately, the design does not provide the user with a clear indication of what button does what. After a few days though I'm sure it would become second nature but it would have been nice to have provided some on screen assistance, such as icons on the screen as you touch the buttons before pressing them. After determining which of the buttons turns the display on you'll almost instantly forget about the issue with the buttons and the picture quality is incredible. I usually attach photos to the reviews that I write but decided not to as the photos do not convey the quality of the picture displayed by this monitor.

FIt turns out that 1440p is the sweet spot for a 27” monitor. With this Dell, they’ve shrunk the bezel size so the larger screen takes up only ~1” more horizontal space than my 1080p 23” monitor that it replaced. The bezel is nearly non-existent. With the higher resolution and HDR, my pictures look sharper and colors look more true when I’m cropping pictures or fixing blemishes in GIMP. Dell also makes available a display utility which allows you to customize where the Windows “snap to” zones are located on the monitor. With that, you can easily have multiple windows open in a way that they’ll all be useful. While there are some 4K TVs / monitors in this price point, 27” is on the smaller side for that much resolution. The text on a 4K set is very sharp, but it can be very small in the detault scaling option. Not all applications respect the MS scaling options. Some display in wierd ways when scaled. I have to take off a star for lack of VESA suppoprt. You must use it with the included stand. You cannot use it with a monitor mount at all. This also restricts dual monitor installations. tl:dr I would certainly recommend this monitor to anyone working with graphics or games..

Truly plug and play. I bought two, replacing two 1920x1080 monitors. Plugged them in and, viola!, superb color and the two monitors matched. It's a good thing I didn't need to recalibrate. The config buttons are hard for me to get to and I couldn't figure out how to change or save settings. No instructions came with them. Also, the first one took control of my audio from my laptop. Imagine my surprise when I started streaming something and got no sound. Moved my external speaker cable to that first monitor and all was well. Really enjoy the extra resolution. I can run my VMs (I typically have 3-5 running at any given time) at 1920 instead of 1440, with room left on-screen for something else. Makes work so much easier. However, since installing these monitors, Windoze (10 Pro) spent a week rebooting every night, reeks all manner of havoc on VMs. When that stopped, whatever was opened on the left-most monitor, over night, ended up on the laptop's monitor (#1). PITA.

Right out of the box, this is an impressive monitor! Lightweight, yet very balanced on its mount to limit issues with tipping. The bezel is razor thin with only the brilliant screen being left to the eye. Connections and adjustments to the screen are simple, making it a quick plug-and-play recommendation. A second HDMI port allows it to be utilized for multiple inputs. There are a few things lacking. As others have mentioned, the tilt adjustment is a little less than I expected making some viewing angles impossible. I would have like to hang it at some point in time, but the lack of a VESA mount took that option out of contention. Moving from a laptop to a desktop using this monitor I do miss having speakers and a camera built in. And from the Dell monitors of the past, the USB ports they used to imbed would be assistive as well. However, this monitor is fully capable of holding its own against other monitors in its price range and the minor limitations are overwhelmed by the pluses. P.S.- The box it comes in has compartments similar to the candy calendars at Christmas. Unfortunately there was no chocolate inside the boxes :-(

I’m using this monitor with my Dell desktop. It is larger than the 19”-21” monitors I typically use and I’m just loving the abundance of viewing area. It’s also brighter than I’m used to thanks to its maximum 600-nit. And in a case of firsts, this is the first monitor I’ve had that uses HDMI cables (it has slots for two of them) to connect to the desktop. This monitor is crystal clear. Mind you, I’m not using it for gaming, just plenty of YouTube, document processing, and the occasional movie. While many of the monitors I’ve used in the past allow you to raise or lower the screen, this one doesn’t: it is limited to a tilt function. It’s also very thin (the documentation indicates that it’s 5.5mm at its thinnest point). As large as this screen is, its thin profile is not consuming a lot of my available desk space. Buttons on the underside allow you to tweak the monitor’s settings accordingly, like adjusting brightness, selecting which of the two HDMI ports you want to use (should you be using this monitor with two different systems), or any number of changes you might deem necessary. All in all, I’m very pleased.

I got this monitor to go with a new desktop system from Dell. Compared to my old monitorand system from 10 years plus ago, it has good detail and contrast is pretty good. It is fairly bright even with full florescent lights on, and the viewing angle is good. It has 2 HDMI inputs that are good should I choose to hook up a second source, and this does have HDR to take advantage of 4k HDR content. The audio/line out jack is handy should I have to use headphones, I won't need to go behind my computer to hook up. The cons I have are the screen must have a bit of anti-reflective treatment on it that takes some of the colors an makes them dull at times, more noticeable with dark/black areas on the screen. Second, for the cost of this I can get a larger 4k tv with tunner and such, I'm very surprised this is not a touchscreen. The screen is a bit large for my routine office/school work, did not really think it'd be as big as it is until I got it on my desk. Better for gaming I would say. overall, a good monitor, I give it 4 stars because 3.5 isn't an option, mainly because of pricing (MSRP 399.99) and not touch screen.

So, this guy replaces my old Dell 27" monitor which had only 1920 x 1440 resolution. From that to this Quad HD 2560x1440 resolution, everything is just so much better. It gives up a little peak color saturation but at this price, this is one of the best choices available. And it beats pretty much all other screens in this price range in style and design!! Here is my list of pros and cons: Pros: 1. It has great out-of-box HDR accuracy 2. The contrast is great 3. Awesome styling, the tilt feature is great. It goes 15 degree back and 5 degree forward. 4. It boasts of 600 nits peak HDR brightness 5. 2 HDMI inputs make it easy for me to switch from my desktop to laptop (if I am looking for larger screen) 6. It has extended colors. Cons: 1. No speakers. This is not an issue for me as I anyways use my bluetooth speakers for my desktop but might be an issue for some. But for some it might be. 2. No adaptive sync. Overall, it is a stylish monitor and has great performance settings to compliment it's stunning looks.

Stunning monitor. The super thin profile along with the the practically non existent bezel combine to make this piece a stunner. The wife does a lot of Photoshop tinkering with her shots, and the sharpness & clarity it adds to her work is miles above anything we've previously owned. 2 HDMI inputs?... Let's see - what can i add? A Roku box, a tv tuner for 4K displays? I see other reviewers have commented about no speakers, but in a monitor this thin, they'd either have to be tiny or backward firing. Ask yourself when was the last time you were happy with the built in speakers of your flat panel tv. That's why they sell so many soundbars. I have this placed on a corner desktop in my dining area, so it's readily in sight of any household visitors. Running a screen saver or photo collage on it, I've never received so many comments on a computer screen. So, not just a monitor, for us it's a bit of an art display as well for the wife's handiwork.

This monitor is special. It has a unique design that is both modern and really looks like a piece of art. The best part about this monitor is that it has a no-glare screen so really lets you see whats on the screen and no other objects around you bouncing off the glass. If I had any cons with this product is that it does not allow you to adjust the height of the screen. That being said. I have this hooked up to a Dell Inspiron 3070 I-7 and sitting next to my 27 in HP monitor and this one is skinner, more vivid in colors, sharper images and way more beautiful. I played could not play HDR content from my Vudu account as of yet but when I do I will update you on its abilities. Suffice to say this one is a keeper. I highly recommend this for video enthusiast as well as gamers. There are not many games with HDR content but soon there will be and this screen can take you there. I give 5 stars for a beautiful computer monitor.

Just bought this today based much on the reviews on Best Buy and other online sites. Very pleased. Exactly what I wanted and needed for study to spread documents across. Build quality seems to be exceptional; very solid; good feel. Easy peasy install. Second monitor with my 2015 27" iMac. Replacing a maybe 8-9 year old LG 23" that has served very well and still going. Install was really plug and go. The sale price was very good-269.95. I installed with a mini-display port to hdmi cable; plugged in and turned on. I did calibrate but it was already pretty good. Text in my research docs so crisp and clear. I am not a gamer. This is a study machine. I also illustrate notes and study sheets using InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, Affinity Photo & Designer, Pixelmator, Graphic, etc. We'll see how it goes with those but I don't think I will be disappointed.
