|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure why Dell decided to reinvent the wheel and make this circular design. Though it's nice and compact and I'm sure makes it easier to pack for travel, it's not very practical. Depending on where the needed port is on the Dell 'puck' you may have to twist and contort the attached USB cable to have the needed port face in the correct direction for whatever cord you're trying to plug in. And, that puts stress on the USB-C connector to your computer. Also, this is made out of plastic instead of some kind of metal that the other more traditional hubs are made out of. I believe the metal acts as a heat sink whereas that functionality is probably not present in this Dell. All in all, I think there are better choices out there for much cheaper.

good idea, poor implementation

They are both up to date with all drivers and firmware. On the older laptop nothing happens when I plug in the hub to the laptop. Will not charge at all. on the brand new laptop there is power but I get a low power warning, trickle charge. I can run an external monitor with this, not the best picture but it works. I plugged in a USB 3.0 flash drive, decent speeds not super fast. try this out on your computer, save the receipt just in case.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fired right up and looks like it will do what I was wanting which was the ability to hook up all of my peripherals with one plug. Two changes that would be nice are either a longer USB C cord so the puck is farther away from the computer, or move the HDMI/VGA ports being as they use larger plugs with stiffer cables that stick out further than RJ-45's or USB C cables.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.FYI, the TypeC cord is maybe 2-3 inches long, so if you don’t have space immediately adjacent to your laptop as well as beside (not above or below I’d say your laptop is on a riser) this product will not work for you. Also, can only use HDMI or DPort, not both. Just a really basic poorly designed product. Definitely not for office use at all.
