The disk drive I got is good! It wasn’t difficult to set up, runs quickly, and so far has worked great. It has run multiple old disks of games from childhood that were a bit scratched up, I was impressed. The only minor issue I have with it is that it’s quite loud (I checked the temperature, it wasn’t getting hot).

I bought this DVD drive since I was getting into physical media and the old computer I used to burn CDs broke. And overall this drive is good. I use both Mac and Windows and the drive works fine with both. It can read and write, but the only downside I've found with it was that it's a bit loud and the plastic feels a little cheap. Overall an 8.5/10 drive.

I bought this external DVD/CD drive since it was a Dell product and my new Dell desktop did not have the same drive. All I had to do was connect it with the supplied USB cord and go to work. It’s had a pretty good workout and all is great. Even better, it was on sale! Very pleased and I would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of an external DVD/CD drive.

I needed a drive to rip a large CD collection. I really wanted a powered desktop model with a drawer but the one I wanted was discontinued and I couldn't justify paying 3 times the price for one with Blu-Ray capability. Given that I don't expect this type to have the longevity of a desktop model, I bought 5 of these. Hope they last through 15,000 CDs. So far, it works as expected. Nothing fancy.

You get Dell reliability and you only need a low-power USB2 port to connect and power it; no power cord is needed. I run this drive plus a 4 TB USB hard drive from a USB 3.0 hub attached to the single USB 3.0 port of a Dell 7506 2n1 (the new one) with no problems whatsoever. I have so far used the unit to rip several hundred CDs, HDCDs, and HRx discs via dbpoweramp with zero operational problems. According to the dbpoweramp program, this also seems to be one of the rare current external CD/DVD drives which will detect C1 errors. At the price, even if it fails after a thousand or so CD rips, it's still a bargain.

The printer is very good. Its easy 2 use. The staff person was helpful in deciding which printer to buy.

This is a great addition for the computer I bought at Best Buy a year ago! Now I can listen to my CDs and watch my DVD's. It was a simple set-up!

Works awesome! Ever look at a new laptop?? They have taken away everything! No ports save for 1, no disc drives, etc. Im old...like yo support artists by buying CDs directly from them, not digital. This drive allows me to put them on my phone and listen!

The first one I got at the store proved defective right out of the box when I got home and installed it - took it back and Best Buy store personnel swiftly got another one from the display shelf - and tested it at the Geek Squad counter - assuring it was "to spec" and the replacement item worked as it should. Simple, lightweight, and price was right.

For the sale price of $20 I paid I’d say it’s worth it. But for the $40 retail value I’d say avoid and buy something else. This Dell external DVD is very very basic. I was surprised at how thin, flimsy and cheap it felt. But it works. And it was easy to set up using the included DVD software. It does tend to hesitate and buffer at times using the USB cable but I can live with that. Not sure how long it will last since it feels so cheaply made but for now I’m satisfied.
