Only used it 2 times so far. Set up was breeze and has worked great.

This unit does everything it claims it can do. The option to set up a monitor or TV to be able to play DVD movies worked well. The price was great and it worked well with my HP computer. I would recommend it.

It does as described! Fast transfer and long life use. Great storeage.

I like the external dvd drive. It is a little noisey, but it does the job. The price was good and I don't have any complaints.

I like Dell products and the price was great -- about $20 with a promo. It set up easily, the cable worked using a Multi-Use Power Hub. One of the reasons I bought it was that TurboTax used a CD (2023 and earlier). Also a lot of pictures and videos are still on CD and I am too lazy and too cheap to upload them to the cloud.

After many years as an engineer, I retired and bought a new HP computer which didn't have a disk drive. Now 11 years later, I now want to review the info on my many old computer disks. I bought this Dell external drive. To install it I had "to plug it's cord into a USB port on my computer." That was it, and it is fully operational.

This product works how its supposed to. It backs up all of my important files whenever I shut my computer down for the evening. Not much more to report. It is small and portable however I only use it on my desktop. Seems to be working just fine. It's pretty much plug and play especially since I had the Geek Squad set it up on my new computer. I wanted something simple to run CDs and DVDs since newer computers typically no longer come with these drives installed. This works great and doesn't take up valuable desk space.

My older HP OMEN began to die, so I purchased a new OMEN tower system. My old OMEN had a built-in DVD RW drive; for some reason HP didn't seem to think their new system needed one. Purchased this Dell DVD RW, plugged it in, and it works fine. A little noisy, but that's okay.

Excellent quality. Easy to use. Many laptops no longer come with optical drives. I wanted one to sit on my desk for those times I needed it. Simply plug in and use. It's a Dell. Why settle for anything less,? Price was also incredible.

My kids have the slim notebooks, and they got used to not being able to burn or read discs. Then one day they ask me if there's a way to hook one up, and is it expensive? I say I'm sure there is, and it's probably expensive. Well, I hop onto BestBuy.com and find that it's way cheaper than I expected (I was thinking over $100), so we online order for in store pickup. When we get it, my kid's like "Wow, it does DVDRW too!" What a deal! They said it's quick too!

Very good addition to my electronics, especially considering they no longer put cd/dvd in desktop computers. This is something I need for reviewing older photo files that I have stored on cds/dvds.

Does what we need. Can load older programs on new laptop. Also rip CD's to mp3.

The Dell-DW316 drive is just what we needed. It is very easy to install. The added software is OK but if you just put cd or dvd in it the computer automatically recognizes them and bring the appropriate app to listen/view. The provided app is a little confusing.

Works as advertised and is slim and easy to carry. With laptops giving up on CD/DVD drives this is a real help.

The unit is nice and compact and works as expected.

Superb, i just bought some dvds so i was looking for a more robust and affordable dvd player for my desktop. This is perfect, on a side note, it doesn't play blu ray or 4k dvds
