For the price, it perfectly competent and it introduces you to a new software tool which I would have never encountered and is easy to use. It may not be the metal build of the LG slim dosc reader, but it is a fraction of the price for what it's worth.

With external CD/DVD drives becoming scarce and no longer standard on most new computers, I couldn’t pass up the chance to grab this Dell USB Slim DVD+/-RW Drive for just $20. It’s a reliable brand, supports M-Disc, and is perfect for anyone who still prefers DVD backups like me. At this price, I even bought a spare to keep in storage for future use. Simple, functional, and a great deal for a quality product!

The disk worked perfectly, and what a bargain! I was a bit upset to learn the computers were being made without CD players any more, but with this product, it makes up for it.

It works as it should. Simple, good value, and easy to use.

The external drive is plug and play. Just plug into an USB port and you are ready. Handles cd’s as well as dvd’s. It’s high speed and M disc capable. I don’t “burn” DVD’s so I can’t attest to that end of the software. I rated only 4 as slipping a disk into the drive is a tad wonky. I have read they are almost always that way on external drives but I feel that if internal drivers are better supported then certainly external drives should be as well. Basically you have to support the tray with one hand while inserting the disk. Also, the tray doesn’t slide all the way out for like internal drives do. This is my first external drive I have ever used so hard to know if they are all simply not made as well as internal dvd drives are or if there is some limitations for external drives which I find hard to believe there is with all the tech we have today. I went with Dell as it was purchased along with my Alienware laptop. Would have been nice if they offered it in white to go with the beautiful white of the Alienware. They missed out on a wonderful marketing tool where one would be more apt to buy any and all components in that silvery white color. To have matching components such as mouse, external drives, headset, etc, would show that their marketing team was thinking.

Very pleased with my recent purchase of a Dell USB Slim DVD Drive. It is perfect for my needs as I only need it a few times and it complements my notebook.

This was perfect for my needs to occasionally upload software or music CDs. It worked instantly with no need to load drivers or other software.

My older laptop's DVD drive stopped working. So I needed something to download music with a good app. This item is great. The app is easy to use and music is quick to download from the app to a CD. Not just music but other audio programs. The price was perfect and the fact that it is a Dell product which matched the laptop. Highly recommend this item to all.

The DVD/CD slim external disk drives takes up very little room and works as well as the larger interior drives. I am very happy with it.

I was pleased to find a name-brand perpheral DVD/RW drive at a competitive price - and with extra-quick shipping. I had to get a playlist put together and written to music CDs with a tight deadline. This drive did not disappoint (the cheap LG one had definitely disappointed!) In addition, I can now watch instructional and entertainment DVDs anywhere, despite my laptop having no DVD drive. This product is as dependable and functional as it's brand suggests, is light and portable, and the Best Buy pricing was right on target!

I bought that driver which works very great on my computer.. its size and slim make me easy to carry everywhere... and the one thing which I like to share about its price... the price are so reasonable. I found the same thing on Walmart and target like $10 more.. so I recommend every one to shop with bestbuy.

I needed to install software to my Lenovo lap top from a dvd, My lap top did not have one. The Dell-usb dvd drive work get. It was fast, and thin so I can take it with me if I need to with out the bulk. So far so good. I don't use the dvd drive that much, but it nice to have if I need it.

I was very surprised with my new computer purchase that the CD drive is no longer included built into the monitor... Anyway, this purchase is an awesome addition and works great!
