Printing is great, setup could be better

This is a capable, basic printer that I purchased solely for use as an airprint printer for Apple products (which works great). The print quality is good and the duplex feature is handy and seems to work without a hitch. Time will tell if it stays that way as this can be a problematic feature that causes jams, etc. I don't like the fact that the duplex feature seems to be the default so turning it off at each print session is annoying. Still exploring though and there may be a way to disable it as default. The wireless setup instructions were not completely clear and it took a few hours of trial and error to finally get it to recognize my access point. Evidently, the wireless button on the printer has to be set just right, and at the right time, to aid the recognition/registration process. I still don't know what I did right to finally get it to see my router so I can't offer any tips. All I can say is keep trying. Once it sees the wifi, the rest of the setup went smoothly. I don't know what kind of re-setup will be needed when the wifi connection is inevitably lost (as happens to almost all modems/routers). Hopefully it will simply re-recognize the signal and reconnect automatically. The printer is seen by all other clients on my network and choosing, and using it, is flawless. Got the printer on sale so I'm happy with my purchase but Dell still lumbers us with outrageous replacement part and toner costs. Most well above the cost of the whole printer. They're definitely a contributor to electronic waste since it is far cheaper to replace a repairable Dell printer than to repair it. That needs to change.

    Good printer, bad wireless

This printer is pretty decent. Not very big, not very loud, and prints quickly. It has USB port, Ethernet port, and wireless (2.4 ghz only). My only complaint is the wireless is terrible. First, you cannot use 5.0 ghz signals, and the 2.4ghz signal I received only about 8 feet away from my router had a 1 bar signal and was too weak to complete setup. My router is great and other devices in the same spot receive full signal. Ultimately, I ran an Ethernet cable instead and it works perfect. USB cable and power cable are included in the box.

Overall it is a good printer, worth the money. However, like the Brother printers, the WIFI connection is not stable. If you don't use the printer for a long time, then you will have big trouble connect the printer via WIFI again. I got frustrated several times then I ended up using wired connection. Some people said assigning the printer with a static IP address could solve the problem. I will try to figure out when I have time.

With school age kids, I had grown tired of having a color cartridge empty and still be unable to print out a black and white document. To end those frustrations, we bought this rebranded brother printer. It was easy to connect to the router via WPS and prints effortlessly from laptops and iOS devices.

The printer itself works great, once you get it set up. The instructions are confusing and don't help. In the end, just playing around in the menu allowed me to find the WiFi confuration wizard and once connected, the IP address let me connect to to the full settings page over a browser.

I have had this for a while now and haven't any problems really. The only gripe I have is that the printer sometimes goes into sleep mode and starting a print from the computer won't wake it up. Other than that occasional annoyance, I have no issues to report.

Good printer, once it is setup, it works for all windows, Linux and Mac that I have. Setup is confusing to me. I used to handle mostly brother printer. First time using Dell. Got it on sale so it is pretty good deal!

In our office we have three of these printers and find them to be invaluable. They seldom break down, have steady, consistent performance without jams or the need to fix this or that. For the price they seem to be the best on the market.

The printer is solid, but unfortunately Dell chose to make WiFi network search difficult to find , and the Android application leaves so much to be desired that it might as well not exist. Works easily with a PC. No software required.

Came across an advertisement showing this printer for less than $50. Checked the reviews on CNET and they recommended it so there you go.

Great Laser Quality Prints and Large Paper Tray. I Would Have Given 5 Stars, but the Wireless Setup was Overly Difficult. Dell Needs to Simplify

Print quality is good. WiFi connection solid. Decent speed. Minus one star for the starter toner which has a limited page count.
