I love this computer even though I do not play games. I chose it for my business because it had the other features I wanted. The graphics are wonderful even though I am not a gamer. Dell has been my favorite computer an I have had several. Price was comparable to others but features such as the keyboard were and numb pad were things I use for my business.

I bought this computer after driving a long distance to another Best Buy just to see a laptop that had a corrupted system. After returning that I bought the laptop in this description. So far so good. Bought this to play my sims games and the laptop is super fast! No lag and always responsive.

Coming from an AMD A8 powered laptop, this literally screams. Valorant, Minecraft, Phasmaphobia, and Steam launched games all run really nice FPS with settings mostly maxxed out. The GeForce RTX GPU really works well with the Ryzen 5 chip. Black Friday sales will start soon, so look for this rig to be sub-$800 soon, making it almost a must-buy!

    Solid system, but underpowered USB-C

For the price point ($800 when I got it), this is a pretty solid laptop. Single DIMM isn't optimal, but allows you to add 8GB for less money than the 16GB dual DIMM G15. So let's call that a win. (though I personally upgraded to two 16GB) Using this as a school and photo editing system with some occasional gaming, it is.. butt ugly. But I'll just assume this is what gamers are looking for. The only real gripe I have is with the USB-C port. It works fine with my WD19S dock, but it does not allow charging the laptop. This is 2021 (when it was designed). There's really no reason not to allow USB-C charging on at least one USB-C port. (And have more than just the one USB-C ports instead of all these USB-A ports). And personally, prefer the ports on the sides, but again, that may be aimed at gamers who want the sides free for mouse/other.

Great laptop for the price. I got this as an entry level gaming PC for my wife, and it has exceeded my expectations. The screen is great, It's fast, And the cool stone look is really neat. Game play is super smooth, and despite only having 8g of memory, it works really well.

Bought it open box and was 100% worth it. Specs were really good for the price, its also upgradable if you ever want slightly better performance. only downside is the single stick of ram that holds back the performance. just slap on one more stick and your solid.

    Casual Gamer's Laptop

As you can see by the title, this is a great laptop for a casual gamer. I can explain that very easily with a few examples. Love It: SSD- good amount of size and speed for what it is Case- slightly rugged and not prone to fingerprints or scratches. Screen- size is good and not too reflective when light hits it at angles. Keyboard- not many laptops in this price range come with a 10 key. well this one does and it comes in handy. Backlight- keys are easy to see at any light level and even when turned off the keys are still visible. Ports- has type A and type C connections with a HDMI video port for the people that need more than one screen. Power Supply- hefty 180watt PS is lower end of gaming laptops with discrete videos cards, but this one still managed to give me the power to play with not issues Like: Weight- not a heavy gaming laptop, but not the lightest either. This is not a just grab and play anyway device as it is best suited to be put done and used (table, desk. etc). Color- the speckled design is interesting and unique, however, I keep trying to brush the crumbs away when there is nothing there. So if multi-colored glitter is you bag. then have at it. Memory- although it is enough to run the laptop, it is not enough to run multiple programs while gaming (team speak, etc), so best bet is to get a additional memory mod when you purchase this. Video Card- this is a like and loathe (next section). The RTX 3050 is a wonderful card and does perform fantastic when needed. The motion is smooth and refresh rate of 120mhz makes game play worth it. Loathe: Screen- the colors are washed out and watching live events or anything with realistic tones is not the best. Gaming is different as with full screen graphics, there is no contract of other colors to match it to. SSD- although it is enough for many random gaming and work/play related endeavors. The speed is not what it could be from something this new to the public. Also if you decide to add a drive, you will have to buy a cage also as this does not come with mounting brackets. Balance- strange thing to mention, but if you push the screen back to far, you will have the sensation it will tip over (at least in my experience). So as you can see, there are many good, ok, and bad points. I will end this saying, that I replaced the SSD, added more memory, and tweaked the settings to get a mid range gaming laptop that I will use every day. Fun Fact. Dell laptops are made by Alienware, So you know it at least has gaming in mind when made. However, I am not sure why they put Command Center on a laptop that can not use it.

My kid likes it and it meets our needs. It’s replacing a desktop that didn’t even last a year so low expectations but pleasantly surprised. Good battery life and display. Solid purchase at this price.

I had a 12 year old samsung laptop and this was definitely an upgrade over that. Plays games like Gears Tatics and Halo wars just fine. Setup very easy especially if you have your old computer backed up on cloud as it ask if you want to restore old desktop during setup. The number pad is a plus for me. One thing I notice is if you have you computer off and closed up, it will automatic start up when you open the laptop up. Don't have to press the power button. Doesn't have the RAM power but is upgradeable. Like most gaming computers, don't expect long battery life but this does pretty good still.

Overall, it's a great computer. It gets very hot super quick. I wish it was able to change the keyboard colors without having to install other software or buy an entire different keyboard.

This is a well-built laptop, and it does come at a price of being heavy, but I don’t think this was designed with portability first in mind. I think Dell was going for a entry to mid-level gaming laptop that does not feel cheap and has respectable specs and still preforms. In my opinion, they hit the mark on nearly all accounts. The most glaring missed mark is the lack of dual channel RAM, and pre-installed is an 8GB DIMM with an open spot for expandability. Firing up Call of Duty Cold War reminds me of this each time and gives me a warning that the 8GB is the minimum amount that it supports. That is an easy fix for about another $50 or so, still it is a shame that 16GB wasn’t included. Setting up was easy and the typical Windows 10 Cortana set up and I had no issues with that, attach it to my Wi-Fi6 network (802.11AX is supported) and it finished up the updates in no time. The overall light gray and dark gray with black keys is a nice touch I think, there is a texture to the light gray plastic that has a good feel and the orange G logo on the side is a nice addition. The AMD Ryzen 5 has 6 cores and is a fine chipset and seems to handle pretty much anything that I can throw at it. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 has 4GB of DDR6 memory. I wish it had more, but these low power laptop powered graphics cards still lag their desktop brethren. The 120Hz 1920x1200 FHD screen is clean, sharp, bright, and crisp and I think this is one of the best features of this laptop. Inside you will find a small form factor 512GB m.2 drive without the option to add a second internal drive so if you plan on using this for some high end COD games, you will need an external drive since those will fill up your drive fast. There are not a lot of ports on this so if you have a lot of devices to plug in, you may need a hub of some sort. There are two USB Type A Super Speed ports, a Type C SS port on the left side, a USB Type A 2.0? on the back next to the HDMI and finally the Ethernet and Headphone jack on the right side. The 180-Watt power supply is plugged into the back as well so and I like that it is out of the way. There are two speakers placed on each side of the keyboard that face outwards. They sound decent, but I wasn’t that impressed with them. There is a large trackpad that works well, and I have no complaints about that. They backlit keyboard has good spacing and a full 10-key on the right side where you would expect it to be. Battery life has been ok so far as I have averaged about 4.5 hours on a single charge. Overall, this is a good laptop for the money and the gaming performance is right where you would expect it to be, nothing high end, but good enough to play Cold War on Medium settings with 60 FPS and no lag. Cranked at Max and Ultra settings, it does lag, and I was only able to achieve 28 FPS.
