it´s all right, good performance, but the battery could (should) be better. I miss the numeric keyboard also, I think Dell has to rethink about it beyond that it is a computer for gamers, they must take into account that so many people (like me) are interested in this kind of laptops for productive tasks. Thank you.

      Hey PabloB,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for the battery performance issues you are experiencing with your Dell G16 gaming laptop. It's important for us to hear about inconsistencies in our products for consideration of future development. Below I have provided steps with the full articles that can help you improve the battery performance of your laptop.
Here are the steps to help improve the battery performance of your laptop:
      1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
      2. On the options list, click Power Options.
      3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.

      a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
      b) If running Cortana, type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
      c) Turn the Battery Saver On or Off.
      d) Additional settings are available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
      e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
      f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further the Battery Saver feature.

I purchased this computer for my son. He truly enjoys the speed in which he can play his games allowing him to make more wins. The width of the monitor is definitely better than standard size. The graphics and design are amazing.

I have had so many issues with this laptop. The power plug doesn't click in, so it has a tendency to slide out when I move the laptop around (like when it's on my lap desk on the couch). The headphone port just doesn't work half the time - based on all the troubleshooting I've done, it will randomly stop registering that anything is plugged in. When I first set up the laptop, and after reinstalling Windows, the idle RAM usage is about 40%, and it has a tendency to run hot and lag/stutter on even low-demand games (things like Among Us and Spiderheck), The troubleshooter features in Windows have found no issues, and the Dell SupportAssist app crashes when I try to switch to the Support tab. Getting ahold of a human being at Dell support has been a colossal pain, so I don't even know if I'll be able to make use of the warranty. The laptop might be great if you don't have a faulty one - the keyboard feels nice and on paper the specs are good, but I just wish this one had presented its issues on time for me to return it.

It's between 4-5 stars. A bit heavy, but besides that so far I am very happy with it. The fans were very loud, but I later set it to low-fan in power-management. I guess this reduces it's performance??, but it's still plays all my games adequately, just that it's does it totally silent now.

Excellent laptop for a backup unit. However, I miss the number pad and the lack of a CD/DVD player. This will do nicer for a backup in case my Win 10 laptop needs to go in for repairs. Not all that enthusiastic about Windows 11. Wish I could buy a new PC or laptop with Windows 10 - don't like being "forced" to accept only one operating system. Would like to see the newer machines with the option to choose my own operating system and have the option of having a CD/DVD player.

I have only owned this laptop for a week so far, so I don't have a long term perspective on this laptop yet. That being said, it has operated quite well for a week now after going through the extensive unboxing and updating process. I believe it is a good buy (as of 12/21/22) if you can get it on sale for under $1100. Removing bloatware, downloading/installing software, and updating drivers took several hours; nothing too out of the ordinary for a new PC. I was pleasantly surprised by how little bloatware was on this Dell: I was expecting significantly more (there is some, but thankfully it is simple and immediate to remove). The additional .4" of screen coming from the standard 15.6" is noticeable and welcome, and the upgraded QHD resolution is a great feature. The backlit keyboard is the best I have had on a laptop, and the RGB is customizable down to each key. The keys feel good and are spaced well. Power I/O, HDMI, and thunderbolt are placed on the back which is where they should be on every laptop IMO. Speakers seem average. The RTX 3060 pairs extremely well with this Core i7 and the DDR5 RAM. It should have the longevity to handle most 1080p high-settings/refresh gaming for the long run, and hopefully handle 1440p gaming on low/medium settings while consistently staying above 60 fps. I have played a couple hours of Assassin's Creed Syndicate on 1440p high settings and was showing an average of 90+ fps the entire time; granted this is a 6+ year old game, but it was the first non e-sports game I downloaded. The largest downside for me is the lack of expandable storage. The 1TB nvme is sufficient for most people, but there is no additional nvme slot or 2.5" bay to expand if needed. If you like to keep a large local game library then an upgrade will be required at some point. The remaining downsides that register lower on my scale are: an additional usb-c port is desperately needed in 2022/2023, no fingerprint scanner even though the power button is shaped perfectly for it, the touchpad feels on the cheaper side of average, and I personally would have preferred a 17.3" screen and a 10-key addition. All that being said, this is a great value overall if you are able to get this for ~$1100. The laptop market still tries to push a lot of options with the 3050ti and 1080p screens at the ~$1100 price point, but the second you pass the $900 mark a 3060 should be the standard (IMO). This gets you that, along with a QHD screen (instead of 1080p FHD), DDR5 RAM (instead of DDR4), and a high-quality processor.

I've had this Dell G16 Laptop for about a month. It was easy to setup and transfer data from my previous laptop. It has been very reliable and I've had no issues. I use a 32" Fire TV as a 2nd monitor and the HDMI connection has worked fine. Text is not real crisp, but I think that has more to do with using HDMI and a TV.

Beautiful screen powerful machine. Love the design. Its heavy make no mistake about that and the battery life could certainly be better, but its to be expected out of a gaming machine this powerful. Power supply is also a beastly size, but again expected.

I was looking for a replacement for my laptop that's 5+ years old as it was starting to slow down. I needed a minimum of 1TB and 16GB Memory as that's what I was already using and maxing out. While this has that (barely) it's missing so many other basic functions (SD reader, CD/DVD reader, 10-key, not enough USB ports) that this feels like a major downgrade. I knew all of these things when I purchased it but I wasn't having luck finding anything with everything I needed under $2000. I wish I would have returned this when I got it instead of continuing to mess with it for the last 6 months trying to get it to work. I may have received a dud but it will not let me finish setting it up. I tried setting it up to transfer from an old computer, that wouldn't work. I set it up as a new computer, and have tried two different USB transfer cables and the new computer still won't transfer anything so I still haven't managed to actually use this laptop for anything. Pros and cons from what I have dealt with: Pros- Backlit keys are bright Screen is bright and clear Pre-installed applications open quickly Cons- All the missing basics make it a bit of a pain having to store extra pieces Mousepad is too sensitive, just brushing your hand against it causes the mouse to move I've never had so much trouble setting up a computer, most of the set up process was them trying to sell more products but I still haven't figured out how to successfully transfer from my old computer to this one without spending a small fortune on software that may not work.
