Using it for my College most of the time. A really fast fast laptop for it’s value. I didn’t expect that. I have multiple pages and websites open and still its performance is really good. The battery life is really good but not excellent. This laptop its not only for work and college but also the user can play some games for example Forza Horizon,Counter strike etc. The display is amazing and the touch screen is working perfectly without any delay.

This little laptop is super fast and powerful. It has not let me down once even when coding in R programming or streaming videos. The battery life is great, allowing me to go 4 classes on it while taking notes and then still have some power left over. I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend this laptop to anyone.

SCREEN: There are multiple “budget” pieces on this laptop. The screen is one of them where some of the competition has better. Which isn’t to say this one is bad. From a basic use standpoint, I enjoyed it as it is pleasing to look at, contrast is good, colors pop, nothing looks washed out, text is easy to read, and watching videos was enjoyable. However, once I ran it through some critical testing, I noticed that all bands for blue, green, cyan, red, and pink weren’t distinguishable. But yellow and white were. Which means color grading work isn’t recommended and once I put it next to another laptop with an OLED screen at the same price point it looked washed out. Contrast was impressive where I only had crushing at the very end of the spectrum and white saturation was good. I noticed no gradient banding. Good sharpness (just right). But gamma wasn’t ideal. It does come with a touch screen and is a 2-in1 which is neat and makes reading documents and watching videos more fun and enjoyable and is very responsive. Only has 8-Bit at 60 Hz (unsure if it is FRC). The screen gets moderately dim and doesn’t get very bright (250 nits). I often had it around 50% in the dark and 80 – 100% in a well-lit room. The screen is glossy which makes everything sharp and crisp, but means reflections can be an issue. The 16:10 ratio allows you to see more of the screen without taking up more space. Bezels are alright. Great on the sides, okay on the top, but thick near the bottom. But better than previous years. 1920x1200 (WUXGA). KEYBOARD: I like this keyboard a lot. It comes across as very “soft”. As it doesn’t require a lot of pressure to actuate, the distance is quite short, and it has a good bounce back for the keys allowing for high WPM (I got 131 WPM in testing which is my usual). It has a very satisfying sound to it and can easily be used in a quiet environment without issues. The keyboard takes up most of the chassis, has long shift keys, and the arrow left/right are full size which helps a lot with short upper arrow keys. Power button is hard to press accidentally. I can easily type on it all day long without any issues. TRACKPAD: As someone who always uses the trackpad on a laptop, if it isn’t good, then the whole computer is bad. Thankfully that isn’t the case here. This one is large, my finger glides across it easily, and all my inputs and gestures work every time. I’m not getting accidental clicks or movement so good palm rejection. I never have to fight against it to get what I wanted out of it. The worst part is the click requires moderate pressure at the very bottom and gets harder the higher you go. And with minute movement isn’t as responsive. Overall, solid but not up there with the best such as from Apple. But gets my seal of approval where it should be fine for nearly everyone. THE FAN: Unfortunately, the fan was almost always on when I was using this whether I was plugged in or on battery even when I was doing relatively nothing (like typing a word document, with outlook open, and a webpage open). I had it on the “balanced” power plan as that gives me the best of battery and performance. The pitch of the fan isn’t the best and comes across as a bit harsh. But does its job well at keeping the laptop cool as I never experienced any warm spots. There was a setting somewhere that you can adjust the fan and I had it set to default which is adaptive so depending on what power mode I was on and what I was doing it would increase or decrease. So, if you went for the “quiet” option it would likely be better tolerated. With the fan running all the time I imagine battery life is also slightly reduced. FINGERPRINT READER: I normally don’t mention this as I never have issues with these. But this one isn’t as accurate as I would like. It regularly doesn’t recognize my finger first or second go and I often need to be highly specific on my finger placement. It was even worse with another user of this computer. BATTERY LIFE: Always hard to get a good judge on this. I find it to be adequate, as I was getting about 6 – 6.5 hours (lost about 15% per hour). Which means you could use it during the morning, charge it up over lunch, and be good for the afternoon. But you’ll still want to bring your charger. With that said this was “real world use” where I was using the computer normally with high/dynamic brightness, backlit keyboard, balanced power plan, multiple tabs open, some web browsing, some document typing, some email, some video watching. So, you could get more if you went down to a lower brightness setting, turned off fan, limited what was open, turned off backlit keyboard, etc. Which would likely net you another hour perhaps two. SPEAKERS: I was pleasantly surprised by the sound. They are up firing speakers (but I also think they have another that is down firing as well). I found watching videos to be pleasant. Normally had it between 30 – 50% so can get plenty loud. It does have a slight tinniness to the sound but that allows for better clarity. I think bass is so-so. When listening to voices they sounded mostly natural and were easy to understand. Not the best but definitely solid overall sound where I really don’t have any real complaints. And definitely one of the better ones I’ve tried. But at the same time I’m not going to be singing it praises either. BUILD QUALITY: This isn’t the most lightweight device (3.61 lbs) as you trade better build quality for it. But it is small and portable. When manipulating it around it always feels solid without any creaking or movement. However, if you press hard on the keyboard there is some give. But with normal typing it isn’t noticeable. Most importantly, the screen is very tight meaning there is zero wobble to it with use and typing. But you can’t open it with a single finger as the hinges are stiff. But is very responsive and stays where you place it. COLOR: The blue color is beautiful. Probably one of the most attractive laptops I’ve seen. It stays relatively clean where I don’t have to wipe it down very often. And it really makes the keyboard and screen pop but at the same time they all blend beautifully together. 10/10 in that aspect. PORTS: Are limited, USB-C 3.2 x2 either for power (some at this price point have thunderbolt), HDMI 1.4 (I think as all I could get is 4K 30 where most allow 4k60), 3.5mm aux, USB-A 3.2 x1 (pretty standard), and full size SD card reader. Which are all budget options and the competition tends to do slightly better. THE CAMERA: The camera is meh. It gets the job done but isn’t anything to write home about. It is kind of fuzzy, but works in low light situations. Where if you need it for work it will do. But you aren’t going to look smashing. Also, greatly appreciate a slider that goes over the camera for privacy. It has a light that turns on to let you know it is in use too. PERFORMANCE: Another part that they went budget is on a lot of the internal specs. It comes with a 2230 Gen4 NVMe SSD at 512 GB. But speeds are at the lower end for Gen3 and I wouldn’t believe it was a Gen4 except it says it on the SSD itself. This can be upgraded to a full size 2280 NVMe SSD though. It has 8GB of LPDDR4X 4266 MHz RAM which is a good speed but isn’t the newest DDR5 standard and is soldered directly onto the motherboard making it so you can’t upgrade, confirmed by looking inside the laptop. 8GB to me is the bare minimum these days as once I start up my computer (with nothing running and very barebones) I’m sitting at 5.2 GB/8 GB. It has a good wireless card that can easily be replaced if broken, I can connect to the newest Wi-Fi 6 GHz bands, and get full speeds. Last, the Ryzen 5 7530U is probably the best part. Comes in right at middle of the road for your average laptop processor (tested on Balanced preset). I was impressed that the scores between battery powered and plugged in were close. About 10% difference (where normally like 20%). Which means most people won’t run into any issues with the processor. It has integrated graphics which means you won’t be playing any demanding games on this. Only mobile or old games. I have attached photos of the battery vs plugged in PCMark10 results I got. Along with SSD speeds. Those translated mean it is good for office work, productivity, web browsing, chatting, writing, essentials, emails, spreadsheets. Not good for video editing, photo editing, digital content creation, rendering, and alright at photo stuff. CONCLUSION: This is a solid laptop that does more right than wrong. Most of the parts are budget components which I would expect at this price point. I enjoy using it and I don’t have any real negatives. However, I don’t have anything stellar to say about it either. It does its job, and it does it well. But there are some other laptops at or around the same price that I think you get more bang for you buck as they come with OLED displays and slightly better ports (such as thunderbolt). But you don’t get the 2-in-1 feature or as good of build quality. And they certainly don’t look as premium. If you’re coming from an older Inspiron (like the Inspiron 2-in-1 7405) it is an upgrade all around. As it has slightly (and I mean slightly) better everything. With the biggest difference being the screen.

Very good laptop when considering the price. Open box at my store for under $500. Be prepared to do lots of updates when you first startup the laptop. WiFi only out-of-the-box; no Ethernet port unless you get a separate USB dongle. Performs the basics very well, but don’t expect it to do any gaming. The case is all-aluminum, which is a nice feature at this price point. Runs quiet and cool. Only disappointment was the RAM is soldered on, so no way to upgrade from 8 GB. Not as disappointing was there is only one M.2 slot, and it’s occupied with the 512 GB drive. Really that’s plenty of storage to install Windows, Office, and store thousands of documents/photos. Battery easily lasts all day with screen set at about half brightness. Display is clear, WUXGA standard is a little better than 1080P, and it looks great on the 14” screen. 2-in-1 design is neat but not very practical. This one is either closed or open about 90 degrees. Chiclet keyboard is about as good as any other laptop keyboard. Backlighting has adjustable brightness. Easy login with fingerprint scanner integrated in the power button. Startup is 10 seconds or less.

I've been testing the Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 for about a week. Overall, I think it is an excellent value computer that has everything I would need or want, except for one thing: the RAM is not upgradable. The setup was simple. I followed the on-screen prompts for Windows, and setup was complete. The version of Windows that was installed is Windows 11 Home 64-bit. I was happy to see that the laptop did not default to Windows S-mode, and there was minimal bloatware. The construction of this laptop is impeccable. I believe the casing is made of plastic, but it feels and looks like it is aluminum. The hinges are nice and tight, so I didn't experience any screen wobble. The monitor is beautiful and has excellent color reproduction. The touch screen works great, and it has stylus support. The keyboard is fantastic. All the keys feel solid and tight. They have great travel and are backlit. The mousepad is large, centered on the laptop, and feels fantastic when using the left and right click functions. It has an excellent port selection, a decent camera (with privacy switch), and fantastic battery life. I was easily able to complete a full day's work without needing the charger. As for performance, the processor did a great job of accomplishing all the tasks I threw at it. It never got hot, and I never heard the fan spool up. However, as I mentioned earlier, the only drawback is that it only comes with 8GB of RAM. This is more than enough for most work situations and casual use. However, if you like to keep multiple Chrome tabs open or use memory-intensive programs, the RAM will dry up quickly. With that said, Dell did a fantastic job when they created this computer, and I absolutely love using it. It will perform excellently in 90% of scenarios, and I highly recommend it.

Let me start by saying this computer is solid. The build quality is fantastic - utilizing a mix of high-quality plastics and aluminum. The chassis has minimal flex and the keys have the perfect amount of travel for me. The hinge mechanism feels robust, the touch screen is responsive/accurate, and the battery life is absolutely fantastic. I average about 7-8 hours of normal use on a single charge which is more than enough for anything I need. The screen resolution is also perfect for the size. The text is crisp and the viewing angles are better than most laptops I've used at this price point. I have to hand it to Dell, they really knocked it out of the park. The attention to detail really sets this computer apart from the competition. The colling is quite and barely noticeable under substantial loads. That being said...there is one major flaw that I see. Wile most tasks do feel snappy, the amount of ram in this system is a huge bottleneck and limits it's full potential. I would recommend either spending the extra money to get the 16GB version or looking into whether or not this model is user upgradable. For context, If I launch Microsoft Edge with more than 7 tabs open, the RAM usage of the system becomes close to being maxed which will hurt multitasking should you need to throw more at it. Other than the RAM bottleneck, the CPU is snappy and rarely stressed. This is definitely a system I look forward to using for years to come.

I bought the Dell Inspiron 14” 2-in-1 Touch Laptop a few months ago, and it’s been a great choice for my daily needs. It runs smoothly thanks to the AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 8GB of memory, and 512GB SSD, so whether I’m working, streaming, or multitasking, it handles everything without a hitch. One of my favorite features is the 2-in-1 design. I love being able to switch between laptop and tablet mode—it’s super convenient for taking notes or even just relaxing while watching a show. The touchscreen is responsive, and the lavender blue color is such a nice touch—it feels unique and modern. The battery life is decent, lasting me around 7-8 hours with normal use, but it does drain a bit quicker during heavier tasks. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the display is bright and vibrant indoors, although it could be a little brighter for outdoor use. For the price this laptop offers great value. It’s perfect for casual users, students, or anyone looking for a flexible, reliable, and stylish laptop. I’m really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it!

I’ve been using my Dell laptop for a few months, and it’s been a solid performer. The build quality feels durable, and it has a sleek, professional look. The display is bright and clear, and the keyboard is comfortable for long typing sessions. Performance-wise, it handles multitasking and all my daily work smoothly, though it can get a bit warm with heavy use. Battery life is decent, lasting a good chunk of the day. It’s not the lightest laptop, but it feels reliable. Overall, a great choice for work or school if you need something dependable and well-built.

--->The Good <--- First, the construction quality of this laptop is quite good. It seems very solidly built. It seems sturdy, and the keyboard and touch pad are both nice for this price point. The screen is bright with plenty of contrast, and it is a touch screen. The power button doubles as a fingerprint sensor, and it features a USB-A, headphone jack, and SD reader on the right. The left side sports a full-size HDMI and two USB-C ports that both support charging and Display-Port Alternate mode. This means that you can easily use a single cable to dock this laptop to your desktop setup. It can easily drive an ultra-widescreen monitor. The speakers are mounted underneath grilles on the sides of the keyboard, so you get speakers that actually fire up at you, instead of down on the table. The speakers are quite good for a laptop of this size and price. In addition, the battery should give you around ten hours of life (more or less, depending on the task you are doing). So far, things are looking quite good indeed. The included 512 GB M.2 SSD can easily be replaced. The included SSD is only 30mm long, but it comes with an extender to make it fit an 80mm slot, so it can easily be upgraded with another 30mm or 80mm unit. ---> The Bad <--- The machine came pre-installed with junk software including McAffee anti-virus software, which can make a good computer run slow. It also came with Alexa installed too, but these can be easily removed. ---> The Ugly <--- The big elephant in the room is the memory in this computer. It only has 8GB of RAM. It is DDR5, and appears to be 4400 speed class, but there is not enough of it. I did not bother with benchmarks, as the limited memory is going to prevent this from being used for anything heavy-duty. It is fine for casual web browsing and common office tasks. But for anything serious, this limitation is going to seriously kneecap the performance. Just having FireFox and Word open at the same time used up most of the memory. Plus, the memory is soldered to the motherboard, so upgrading is not even an option. This computer is too expensive to be considered a “cheap” computer but does not have enough memory to be considered a “serious” computer. So it falls awkwardly between the two categories. If 8 GB of memory is enough, then you can get a cheaper machine that will serve just as well. On the other hand, if you need performance, then don’t get this. So it is well-constructed, but the specifications just don’t make sense. This is a shame, as the CPU itself is rather nice and would be capable of so much more.

Good All-Rounder with One Minor Caveat

A solid little mid-ranger with excellent bang for the buck, especially at the sale price of $550. This laptop delivers great battery life, modern connectivity including Wifi 6, two Type C charging ports (say goodbye to proprietary chargers) and ample external display connectivity either through the HDMI port or either of the two USB C ports working in DisplayPort mode through a dock or adapter. It's relatively lightweight, feels fairly sturdy, and also offers a good 1080P (really 1200P) 16:10 touch display. While many won't use the touch screen, the option is nice. Also, for those coming from an older 13", this laptop may be a similar footprint despite the larger screen size, mainly due to the fairly thin bezels. The processor is very snappy and responsive, and being a modern 6 core, is capable of some heavy lifting. The onboard graphics is also capable of light gaming (mainly esports titles) but measure your expectations accordingly: this is not a gaming machine. The only weak point is the soldered 8 GB of RAM. I feel that, without changing anything else, a bump to 16 GB (even for an extra $50 or $100) would have made this nearly perfect. 8 GB is enough for many people, but we're leaving the era where this standard is near-universally sufficient.

I am a novice when it comes to technology, and last year I was looking to purchase a "starter" laptop that would work well for my first year of law school. This laptop has been perfect for me. For what I use it for -- writing assignments, streaming tv shows/movies, and even playing games at time -- it is perfect. It has a great battery life and display. This computer was worth every penny, and, even better, it is extremely affordable. I would absolutely recommend this computer to anyone!

I have used Dell laptops since I started buying laptops and they never disappoint. In fact, the only reason I recently purchased a new one is because my 7 years old son dropped my previous one and broke it. The battery life, the transportability, speed, and size are all just what I want and needed! Would have liked a different color but there's other options for that.

Needed this laptop for school work and it does an amazing job. The speed is phenomenal and the battery life is very good. I charge this every other day using for around 6 to 8 hours per day. There is no lag on this laptop at least none too noticeable, the functionality on this is also very good very similar too a phone.

I’ve owned this laptop for about a month now, it has worked solidly with no concerns. It’s not as user-friendly as other laptops I’ve used, for example, one day I opened it up and the screen was sideways. I had to do a lot of googling on my phone to figure out how to switch it back. When it closes, it doesn’t close as soft as I’d like. The battery lasts long and everything else has been great so far.
