    Excellent Performance and Features

The Dell Inspiron 14 inch Touch Screen Laptop is elegantly designed to function as a laptop or a tablet. It has the processing power, system memory, and feature set to easily handle most standard entertainment and standard productivity needs. The 2k (1920 x 1200) Full HD+ screen resolution creates an excellent picture quality. Colors are vibrant and accurate. Blacks are deep and inky. If you plan on using it to watch videos on the various streaming content providers, then you will not be disappointed. One main benefit of 2K over 4K resolution is that battery life will be improved. This is especially important if you plan on using this laptop on the go. The display is also touch screen capable. It is very responsive and easy to use. I prefer the traditional laptop mode but appreciate the versatility to use it this way. I sometimes use the tablet mode on airplanes when space is tight or I need to angle the screen a certain way. As has become the norm, this laptop is charged via one of two USB-C ports. Both ports are fully capable of receiving a charge. Included in the box is a USB-C power adapter. An excellent assortment of ports are included on both sides of the laptop. There are two USB-C ports, both of which support power delivery and display output. There are also two USB-A ports, a HDMI output, a memory card reader and a headphone jack. This was a pleasant surprise because many newer laptops have dropped some of the legacy ports like USB-A and a headphone jack. Thankfully the keyboard is a standard version and not the compact factor, which I personally dislike. The keyboard travel is medium and the keys are responsive. The keyboard is backlit which was welcome at this price point. Sound quality is typical for a laptop. I recommend using a quality pair of headphones to get the maximum sound quality. The Dell Inspiron 14 inch Touch Screen Laptop is equipped with enough processing power and system memory to handle most Windows 11 PC entertainment and personal productivity activities. This hybrid laptop/tablet is an excellent choice for the user that wants excellent offering of features and performance.

Great Little Computer. Nice To Travel With

Myself being a current user of a larger laptop computer, it took a bit to love this little fella, but I sure do love it now. It's very light and compact making packing it away when you travel really easy and convenient. Briefcase, carry on, backpack, whatever this packs away and you wont even notice it until you need it. It charges quickly in either of the USB C ports, but unfortunatly they bare both on the left side. One on each side would have made it easy to power it up from the direction you need without pulling it around the back of the laptop. Since it has a touch screen and the ability to fold that screen completly back and over the back of the keyboard, it becomes a touch pad type device with a 14 inch screen. Or stand it up in an "A" shape or bent up backwards with the keyboard behind it. The last two features are great for using it as a monitor and watching a movie, TV or slide presentation. At its core of operation is the Intel Core 5 with 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD which provides plenty of processing speed and more than adequate speed for most users. A handy buisness or school application of handwriting with an optional active pen allows for natural writing while taking notes or journaling. It features Dolby Atmos sound for your entertainment and a chrisp clear screen to view movies when relaxing of an evening

Have had the product for about 2 months now, so far it works great, fast, lightweight and efficient. Nice touchscreen feature. I use it for personal use only, such as email, online shopping, zoom calls/ meetings etc. The only thing I don't like is the video quality on Zoom meetings, I was hoping for more clarity. It seems like it is just how it was manufactured. I feel as though I am using an early 2000's laptop with it's mid video quality. Other than that, it is good for the refurbished discounted version I got.

Portable, Versatile Laptop For Casual Use

The Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 Touch Screen laptop is one of the latest offerings within the Inspiron laptop series. It offers versatile, day to day usability with its design, touch screen, and wide variety of ports, however, doesn't offer the latest in terms of specifications. The Inspiron 14 finished in Ice Blue is a fairly premium looking and feeling laptop. It measures just .62” thick and weighs 3.77lbs. This puts it one step above the ultra thin laptops currently available but still remains very much portable for on the go usage. This laptop features a 1920x1200 FHD+ wide viewing angle touch screen which offers great brightness and clear viewing from most angles. It is not quite as vibrant or inky as OLED screens, but this laptop is priced accordingly, at a lower price point. Having the touch screen and foldable design allows for many use cases and scenarios that might require a touch compatible device. One of the strong suits of this laptop is the amount and variety of ports. These include two 2 USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4, 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 3.5mm Audio Jack, 1 HDMI 1.4, and 1 full size SD card reader. It is worth noting, these are not the latest/fastest specification of ports available so this laptop can only support 1920x1080 60Hz external monitors via USB-C or the HDMI port. As someone who does enjoy taking pictures and video editing, having a full size SD card reader is a huge plus as it prevents me from having to carry and adapter around. I really like the physical webcam privacy slider which is nice for security purposes. It is a little difficult to distinguish when the slider is closed but outside of this, it works well. It is worth noting that the laptop charges via USB-C, so if you want to use two USB-C devices at once, you will need to use battery power. The built-in fingerprint reader in the top right hand corner is very ergonomic in placement and works well. Under the hood, this laptop is powered by an Intel Core 5 120U (Series 1) Processor with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 512GB SSD storage. This is a standard M.2 PCIe NVMe drive which supports replacing it with a larger capacity drive, if needed, although 512GB is enough for most users. It should keep this laptop running for many years even with larger software updates. This laptop has built-in, active cooling which helps with performance under heavy loads. Given the Intel integrated graphics, don’t expect this to replace your gaming laptop or excel at heraving editing but it can handle lighter to moderate duties with ease. It will start to warm up during charging or heavy usage but no more so than most laptops. The touch pad is very easy to use and navigate and is respectable in size for this laptop class. The keyboard is backlit which provides easy visibility in lower light situations. The keys have a small amount of travel just like most laptops these days. I don’t have any issues with typing or scrolling. Likes: Slimmer, Premium Design Touch Screen (For Those Who Need/Want) Physical Camera Slider Full Size SD Card Reader Dislikes: Camera Slider Hard To Tell When Open/Closed HDMI 1.4 (Limited to 1920x1080 @ 60Hz) Overall, this laptop is a great mid tier laptop for those who want a 2-in-1 design with a touch screen. The performance and hardware has proven to be enough for any sort of casual or business usage. It would be nice to see 4K support from the USB-C and HDMI ports, however, an older standard was used, likely for cost savings. If you’re in the market for a quality laptop without breaking the bank, I would add this one to the list.

    Everyday two-in-one laptop

I was searching for a not very high-end device that could serve as my everyday device laptop and tablet device to “beat it up” and not feel too guilty about it. It had to have “decent” capabilities that would allow me to accomplish writing stuff, sending emails, browsing the internet, conferencing, consuming media, working on multiple things side-by-side, etc. The Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 Intel has fulfilled my expectations thus far. There are some nuances though, the main one being how thick it feels in tablet mode, I wish it was a little thinner. That gets a little in the way of the experience, but on the other hand it feels like a solid machine. - Pros: 2 in 1, FHD camera, privacy shutter, battery, variety of ports/connections. - Cons: thick, no NPU. >> Setup and first use Nothing out of the ordinary for this device, the Windows setup menu came in three languages English, Spanish and French, which comes in handy for Spanish speaking folks (most of my acquaintances). During setup at the device registration step, the laptop shut down, I was not careful enough to properly plug the power cord to the adaptor! Securing the connections, upon restart the setup continued without any issues (nice!). With all the updates and so, it took about 40 min (about half an hour just dealing with the Windows updates) to have the machine into a ready to use state. One other issue post-setup. After using the laptop for a few hours, whenever the machine would go to sleep and/or the dialog to enter the PIN showed up, it kept asking me to reset my PIN. I was puzzled by this. It seems this was because of a pending firmware update that I didn’t realize was queued at some point. Upon restarting the Windows device (one “natural” way of fixing issues with Windows) all was fine! >> Some highlights: - Battery: The battery provides enough juice to enjoy watching your favorite videos for over 5 hours. So, this will be handy when I fly next time, and I just want to watch some in-flight movies. Charging is fast enough, so I am not worried too much about battery issues. - Keyboard: This comes with a soft keyboard, easy to touch and not noisy at all. It is also lit; however, if you are working at night, unless you are in really dark mode, the keyboard keys will still be visible with the light from the screen. Anyways, having a lit keyboard is a nice touch - Sound: The sound is just fine, not top notch but good quality, nonetheless. Of course, you’d need to invest in some good set for earphones if you want to enjoy your favorite tunes for a prolonged period of time. When it is folded, tablet mode, it seems that some sound quality is a little worse since the speakers are in the back. Not too much sound quality lost anyways. - Screen/video: screen quality is pretty good, color appear crisp and natural. Refresh rate is just 60Hz, so don’t expect the best video in action videos or playing some games. - Power button: I had to comment on this, as the power button is not easy discoverable. Why not just label it somehow. It is the same as the fingerprint sensor. >> 2 in 1 I find the tablet mode to be extremely useful, in fact, I was looking for a 2-in-1 device for some time until I found this one. Unfortunately, the Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 is a little bulky that sometimes you wish you just had a regular tablet. I wish it was not as thick as it is. In addition, the edges on the screen make it a little awkward to use in tablet mode, as your fingers or hand rub against those somewhat sharp edges (the screen feels like it is placed one level down). >> AI? Although it feels like all is buzz words about AI here and there, and it gets to my nerves, there seems to be the need to mention it. I’d guess that most modern devices are expected to come with some sort of NPU (neural processing unit), for example one recent gaming AMD-based laptop that I got has an NPU, but this one doesn’t come with one. So, if you are dependent on doing lots of AI stuff that needs local processing, then this might not work for you. So far, it’s been working for me with regards to my AI needs. In my case, I can interact with Copilot and all the other members of that club just fine, so I am not really “missing” anything without an NPU on this device.

Love the touchscreen and variety of ports

The Inspiron 14 2-in-1 is a solid everyday computer that stands out by offering a variety of ports and a touchscreen. In my experience Dell products are typically dependable and a good value (I am a big fan of their monitors). The overall performance of this laptop has been very good, handling multi-tasking without any performance issues and staying cool during demanding task. It is a good size for a backpack, but even with the 2-in-1 design I would not recommend it as a tablet replacement due weight and less than all day battery life. ---Pros--- 1. The great variety of ports is the main reason I chose this laptop over others (that require an adapter for everything). It has 2 USB-C, 2 USB-A (full-size), HDMI, and a headphone jack. The USB ports are high speed (5Gbps) and either USB-C port can be used for power/display via a dock or the included (65W) power adapter. There is even a full-sized SD card reader (although it was a bit slow compared to my USB adapter). 2. The build quality and design are very good. The case has a great texture and the Ice Blue color is subtle, but looks nice. The hinge is solid and does not jiggle once positioned. 3. The 1920x1200 touchscreen is bright and clear. The touchscreen and multi-gesture touchpad work great together to allow you to leave your mouse at home. There is no replacement for using two fingers/pinch to zoom in/out (on screen or on the touchpad) compare to a scroll wheel. 4. The 16GB of DDR5 RAM and newer Core i5 processor handle multi-tasking without issue. I was even able to encode some HD videos while planning a trip (with multiple windows open) and did not notice any lag. Temperature management is excellent with reasonable fan noise and moderate internal temperatures under full load (no hot spots on the case or crazy screeching fan like some other computers). 5. The back-lit keyboard is comfortable to type on, with good key size/spacing and decent travel/feel. 6. The 512GB SSD offers good performance and has a reasonable amount of space available (390GB free with 65GB used by Windows/pre-installed apps). 7. The finger print reader works well and makes logins quick. 8. The microphone and 1080p camera (with privacy shutter!) work great for video calls. 9. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi work as expected. I have not had any Wi-Fi reception issues (always connected on the higher bandwidth 5Ghz). My Bluetooth mouse paired instantly and has been working great. ---Things to Consider--- 1. The built-in speakers have good volume, decent range, and are clear. I found there was some distortion until I turned off the "audio enhancement" under Settings>System>Sound>Speakers>Advanced Settings... this might be fixed by a driver or software update (Dolby Atmos) in the future, but the sound is still good with this disabled. 2. Battery life with moderate use is around 5hrs, meaning that I always take my power adapter to be safe. The good news is that there is smart charging to help maintain the battery health, especially if the laptop is left plugged in often. 3. The solid feel does means that this 14" laptop is a fair bit heavier than a tablet or some of the 13in laptops I have used. 4. While it works great for video, the 2.1MP still photos taken by the built-in camera are grainy/noisy even in good light. 5. The Intel Integrated Graphics had no trouble with multiple screens for casual use (the built-in screen, plus one FHD at 60hz via the built-in HDMI), but this laptop should not be used for newer video games or hardcore photo/video editing.

The compact design is easy to handle. It has everything I need. The back lit keys make working in a dark room, while watching TV effortless. The processing is fast. I'm only 2 weeks in, but this smaller, touch-screen, 2 in 1 laptop seems like a great replacement for my 17 inch Dell laptop. Its smaller size makes it so much more portable to bring along for meetings, etc. I am sure I will become accustomed to where my fingers need to be eventually! No glitches so far! I was dreading this transition (and had suffered too long with a failing keyboard), but the Geek Squad's handling of the data transfer made it painless. Oh, and did I mention the great price for everything my IT consultant told me I should look for?

Pros: Display: The 2K touchscreen is crisp, bright, and responsive. Design: The 2-in-1 hinge feels sturdy, and the Ice Blue color gives it a very clean, professional look. Convenience: Picking it up in-store at Best Buy was quick and hassle-free. Cons: Storage: 512GB is standard and plenty for work, but might fill up quickly if you store a lot of large media files. Bottom Line: This is a sleek, reliable laptop that easily keeps up with a demanding work schedule. It's the perfect size for portability without sacrificing screen quality or speed.
