I bought this for my niece. Here is what she had to say in her own words:
From the moment of using this electronic device, there are some aspects that I have been considering:
The portability of the device: Being portable and lightweight, allows me to carry it from one place to another without any problem with space or weight that can cause back pain, a situation that I experienced with past laptops.
Processing capacity: I consider that the power of the processor allows me to easily cope with various programs such as Word, Power Point and Adobe. In addition, I can have several programs running at the same time, since the processor reacts quickly to the instructions given. Therefore, I do not fight in the freezing of the screen and programs causing difficulties at the end of a certain job. This allows me to trust the device when having meetings or presentations at work and academic area.
Battery life: The battery has a very good durability which makes it possible to have long hours of operation without having a switch nearby.
Graphics card: This is also an important point for those of us who demand a great visual experience. This laptop screen has a good quality, so it allows me to enjoy the experience of working on it.
Inputs: Although CDs are no longer used in laptops, sometimes it is necessary to have access to it either to install a program or something else, a situation that does not occur with this laptop, so I think this is a point that is not in favor.
Tablet mode: It allows me to read texts as if it were an iPad. Also, the keyboard, when using this mode, is not light, which allows me to have better control of what is handled without committing accidents when I want to press something I don't want. Furthermore, the touchscreen allows better ease and speed with the electronic device.
In conclusion, it is a very elegant and light laptop. In addition, it can be connected without any problem to external speakers, a problem that I had with other PC and I had to settle for the maximum audio that the laptop offered. For now, I am satisfied with the product.

All you get is someone in the Philippines who doesn’t understand what you want really disgusted with Best Buy at this point there is no one to talk to you I’ve been overcharged and I’m sick and tired of it oh by the way the computers OK it’s nothing great the fingerprint scanner didn’t work on the last one doesn’t work on this one either and you have a couple months wait to get into Geek Squad’s.

Exactly what I was looking for in a compact laptop, with the added bonus of a touch screen tablet. Really like the size and weight, makes traveling at home and abroad a breeze. Latest gen processor keeps me well connected and flying through all my responsibilities and commitments. Screen clarity is amazing, very vibrant and detailed. Still getting familiar with the functions and features but everything's great so far and looks very promising for many years of productive and effective use.

Overall, computer has been pretty nice. After using it for several months here are my takes:
Ryzen 5 processor does a good job balancing between power and battery life, and with moderate use I can go an entire day on a charge. The keyboard is nice, but the backlight on them is not as bright as other manufacturers.
Speaking of brightness, the screen sorta sucks, and is the reason I am docking a star. The screen just doesn't get bright enought to use in a well-lit environment. I was hoping to use the 2-in-1 capabilities for reading sheet music in various ensembles for college, but the screen is often not bright enough. Colors also don't seem very accurate. The metal chassis and finish are nice, however where edges on the sides of the bottom are very sharp, and don't feel very nice. Fingerprint scanner also seems really buggy at times, but works great at times as well. My last gripe is the bloatware that Dell packages with their computer, although one of the apps, dell mobile conneyhas been really nice.

Hello Balanas,
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to learn that your Inspiron is not quite meeting expectations. We really do appreciate your feedback and will use it to help improve our current and future products. One way to adjust the brightness of your screen is with the F6 key (which lowers brightness) and the F7 key (which heightens brightness) Below is a link to the guide for your laptop. On pages 22-24, you will also see other keyboard shortcuts that can help you control the extra functions of your PC.
For further assistance, you can contact Dell directly with the information below Chat or Call: https://bit.ly/DellSupportTeam. Phone number to Dell: 1-800-264-9896.

I've had this for a couple of years now, and it's great. I use it, aside from general computer usage like internet access and writing, for recording music and editing videos. I use Propellerhead Reason for my music, and Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing. Other than running out of space on the hard drive from time to time (which is to be expected with video editing, especially), no problems here.

The Dell 7405 2 in 1 Laptop is a surprisingly full featured laptop with the flip tablet screen as an extra benefit. Bought it on a weekend sale at Best Buy, when I was looking at a HP 2:1...and the Dell does not disappoint. I needed to replace an old Dell 4300 Latitude with a docking station set up...the Inspiron 7405 did the trick and much more. Not only is a touch screen which is an almost required feature now, but the AMD 7 chip set is super fast and very responsive for touch and Active pen functionalities. 16mb ram is a workhorse for multiple programs operations.
The start up is lighting quick and the 7405 comes with more USB and video ports than the competitive models.
The 7405 has a cool bronze colored case...setting it ahead of the standard silver or rose gold colored competition.
Initial set up was a breeze and the free Dell support was a bonus if you get stuck.
Battery life is as advertised...however the battery is still new and you would expect it to have the life needed. 10-11 hours so far.
I highly recommend the Dell 7000 line...hard to beat the price and the features!

I am a grad school business student coming from an HP Spectre 360 that lasted me four years. So far, I love this computer! Lightweight and portable but very fast and has lots of storage space. Battery life is very good. I notice no differences from my Spectre (much higher end computer) in performance, only difference is the build being a little better. For under a $1000, this is the best computer you can get!

This thing is a beast. I have it dual booting Linux and Win 10 and it is not skipping a beat. I love the ability to upgrade to 32GB of RAM and the processor is great. Runs a little warm but nothing dramatic. Great laptop for someone looking to push a machine to its limits.

Best laptop I have used for my business.
I demand a lot out of my computers and this one has not disappointed. From booting within 30 seconds to running multiple programs at once, this has been a champ for me
The battery life allows me to run a complete event of 4-5 hours with no need to plug it in.

Beautiful computer and works fast plus is a decent weight given that it's a 2-in-1. Now on to the cons: 1. Unless I am sitting straight up with my legs at a 90 degree angle to the floor (which is NOT how I sit), the edges dig into my skin. After more than 30 minutes, this goes from annoying to downright painful. 2. Speakers are absolutely pathetic, making a little vibrating sound when I have the volume at its max. 3. Battery life is abysmal. Only lasts a few hours in active use. 4. Colors are washed out. Perhaps my expectations are a little high coming from a macbook; however, I found myself squinting even when I had the screen at its brightest (and no, I do not have problems with my eyesight). That leads me to the last con. 5. Its brightest level should be its medium level as the lowest setting is practically impossible to read unless you're in the dark. I have read so many good reviews about this computer and I don't doubt it's speed, memory, ram, processor, etc are average-above average. If that's what's most important, then you should definitely buy this computer. If, like me, you also want visual and physical comfort as well as quality sound and a vibrant screen, then keep searching. Personally, I will be returning it.

This laptop is good. I really wish I could give it a Higher rating but after 3 weeks of using it, I had no wi-fi connectivity. This laptop has Intel's Wi-fi 6 AX200 network adapter. It is a problem if you research it online. To save people's time, call Dell tech support. (you will need to connect your laptop via ethernet cable, so you would need to buy a Dell adapter to hook in an ethernet cable to be online). Have them uninstall and reinstall the Dell's updated driver from their website. They can walk you through it or they can do it via remote access. That has worked for me so far...*fingers crossed*... This isn't so much Best Buy's fault, more Dell's, as this seems to be a common issue with their laptops.
Other than that, this laptop is great. The AMD graphics are great! The keys feel great. Besides the wifi adapter, its a great computer.

This is by far the best Dell and fastest computer I have ever owned. The time it takes to load and be ready to use is amazing. It is the right size for portability and ease of use on the go. Then it can be flipped to be used like a tablet too, how much more convenient can it get? I would make this purchase every time.

This machine is excellent from any work related projects or school work to casually gaming and/or streaming. Great feel, look, runs amazing, and if placed on correct spot with proper ventilation or have a fan mat underneath it doesn't over heat or act up. Also if you are confused by the ports it does have THREE USB ports. One type-c and two 3.0 type-A. It is compatible with active stylus pens. Touch screen flows great. Compared to my girlfriends pixelbook touch screen which is not responsive at all to me. Wish it did have more storage but that's an easy fix with external drives. Also charge port is only on one side i feel like all laptops should have ports on both sides for accessibility but not a merit for losing stars. It's also not too big or small for regular use and when in tablet mode.

I had been hearing that low to mid-end AMD processors were the equivalent or better than similar Intel chips, so I decide to take the plunge with this laptop. So far it has been a breath of fresh air for the price. Fast and well constructed, I'm very happy with this purchase!

The laptop is very fast due to the 4700U processor, 16 GB RAM and SSD drive. After reading the reviews, I was concerned about the display but the display looks great! I guess 220 nits is enough after all. Probably wouldn't try it in direct sun light but it is fine indoors. I was also concerned about the color but it looks almost grey with a hint of taupe. It gives it a distinctive look yet is subtle. I 'm very happy with this purchase. I bought it to replace an old laptop so I haven't tried it as a tablet yet.
