The specs speak for themselves. This thing is amazing. Perfect for the design software I use !! I don't love the "tablet mode" much but I didn't even buy it for that capability, that was just a bonus feature. I got lucky and found it on a sale one day for $300 off and I snatched it up. I love if. Beautiful quality. Super fast. Pretty unique color !! Impressed !! In love ! Thanks Dell !!!

This was a replacement for a first Gen X1 Carbon. I use this machine to use Adobe Illustrator, light gaming, and watching movies.
Pros:
It is has a snappy response in Windows.
The metal exterior makes the device seem absolutely solid.
The APU is beastly, handling Illustrator with ease, and modern games at medium settings without hiccups.
Tablet mode is responsive enough to a stylus to do industry standard graphics.
It took the windows 11 upgrade like a champ.
Firmware updates have been painless.
Fingerprint reader is spot on.
The backlit keyboard is spacious enough for bigger hands.
Fans are relatively quite.
After almost a year of daily usage, the battery still keeps 8 hours of continuous use.
Neutral:
Sound is decent.
It feels heavy compared to other, but that is the price one pays for the solid feel.
The built in camera is adequate for zoom calls, but nothing special.
The 500GB SSD is adequate, but space more is always better.
Cons:
It lacks ports, only having 2 usb 3 and 1 usb c.
The camera does not have IR, so no Microsoft face recognition.
It can get warm in one's lap after several hours of use.
Some programs initially did not have optimized text in Windows 11, looking a bit blurry, until updates came along.

I bought this laptop and then realized that the right hinge was installed crooked. I brought it back to best buy and their customer service was excellent and they had another to my doorstep within days.
The problem is that even the new one seems to have slightly crooked hinges. It seems to be common with these laptops. I've decided just to get Dell's premium plus extended warrantee. A dell warrantee technician emailed me and told me to respond to get set up. However, I've responded twice and haven't heard anything back for a few weeks. So the customer support is frustrating.
Overall, the laptop itself has worked wonderfully so far. I use it daily for school and have had no issues. My only complaint is that the cpu can run fairly hot at times. There is only one strip of ventilation on the bottom of the laptop. I'd like to see additional ventilation added with these higher powered cpu's. Overall though, the cpu hasn't given me any grief and I've enjoyed the 16GB of RAM compared to the 8 or 12GB which come with other laptops in this price range. After weeks of research this laptop had the best processing power out of any other laptop I could find below a $900 price limit.

I purchased this computer because having one computer didn’t fit our family needs while I had to start teleworking. It has served its purpose of office work, internet searching, and some YouTube. The fingerprint reader sometimes doesn’t work so I have to log on another way. I’m happy with the computer so far.

Great battery life. Screen feels good and nice quality. I don't like the keyboard very much as it doesn't seem to have perfect feedback everytime and my dash key has to be hit a certain way ever since I bought it. Irritating paid $1000 for a laptop but didn't want to return it over a little thing... Overall ok

I have had this for about a month and have enjoyed using it a lot. It is fast, reliable, and seems reliable. The keyboard is nice to use. The screen is not as bright as I would like when the sun is bright. The only issue is that the fingerprint reader is basically useless. It rarely works. I have removed and added several times. I am happy with the purchase.

I have been using Dell computers for years. I bought a couple of ASUSes and am happy to be back with Dell. My last laptop was a Dell Inspiron also that worked great. After four years, I upgraded to this one, but the old one is still going strong. This one is ridiculously fast. I haven't had any problems, and it's a fun laptop to use.

I love it! Considering my old laptop was 15 years old, this was a huge step up. Although I'm working through setup issues, it's mostly been pretty easy. For the few problems I'm having, which are mostly due to my lack of technical prowess, I know I can depend on Geed Squad for support. also, I know that Dell is a reliable product.

I have ordered 3 of these laptops. One for myself and one for each of my children who are distance learning due to Covid. Touchscreen works great. So much easier for them to use than a mouse or even a touch pad. I would definitely recommend.

I love this thin and light. I use this for medium gaming (Halo MCC, Emulation, Doom (2016)). The Ryzen 4700u is an incredibly powerful processor. Paired with the extremely fast low latency RAM on this computer, you'll be surprised. Of note, this has 16GBs of RAM on DIMM 1 and nothing on DIMM 2. My use so far has all been on single channel ram, meaning this thing can actually go faster. When you consider the ram is used for the video memory since it is more of an APU then a CPU, this is a very good thing. I just bought more ram for 65 dollars, and will now have 32GBs. I bought this laptop on sale, it was closer to 800 back then. I highly recommend it. I also use it while traveling a lot. I have had occasional issues with the wifi card not reinitializing, but I have fixed that with a quick powershell script.

WiFi/network not reliable

I was really excited about getting such a versatile machine- lightweight, sleek, touchscreen etc.
While I love the touch screen capability and use it often, I purchased this model for my schooling and the reliability concerning the WiFi not connecting has been beyond frustrating. "Dell Inspiron not detecting wireless networks" as I've come to research is a common problem with this laptop. I'd done the troubleshooting found online (disabling Network drivers, resetting Network etc) and only works 30% of the time. This is not a reliable laptop and though it looks sweet, don't rely on it to connect to WiFi all of the time. Will be trading this in.

Your feedback is incredibly valuable as we build current and future products. To make sure that we can help, we have provided below some some steps you may take to further troubleshoot your issue.

The laptop is sleek, fast, and powerful to easily handle the few games that I play as well as other programs I’m using for work. I really like the sandstorm color too! I’ve owned this for almost two months now and have encountered no problems yet.

I have had a very positive experience with this computer and am glad I purchased it. I have some positive and negative thoughts regarding it.
Pros: Incredibly fast. Honestly, the 16gb memory is the bottleneck when paired with the AMD Ryzen 7 CPU, though it really is not noticeable. Start-up, restarts, transitions between programs are fairly smooth and quick. The 2-in-1 feature works well, the hinges are solid and feel like they will stand up to test of time. Size is perfect and keyboard feels nice to use.
Cons: Sometimes when opening up the computer the screen stays on, but black, and requires you to tap the power button to get it to turn on. The MacAfee and Amazon built in are quite annoying but were easily uninstalled so have no fear there. Drivers will randomly shut down and require some hard restarts or tinkering within the Device Manager to get it working again.
