There is so much to like about this laptop, it comes with a lot of bells and whistles....fingerprint scanner, full size keyboard with backlit keys, full HD touch screen with pen support, thunderbolt 3, and usb 3.1 ports, hdmi, a media reader. Dell Mobile connect,PCIe NVMe SSD with Optane , web cam, Dell Cinema, Express Charge, and of course the best feature probably being that this is a 2-in-1 device The 2-in-1 feature is great, the laptop folds very easily but holds it's position at practically any angle. You can even position it on it's side, and get a portrait look, just like your phone. The touch screen is very responsive and accurate. I also like the fact that Dell engineered this laptop to be able to maintain a constant flow of air ,for cooling, no matter it's position, or what it's sitting on (even a pillow). They even managed to create adaptive thermals, this 2-in-1 is supposed to be smart enough to know when it's in your hands, your lap, or a desk, and adapt the air flow to reduce hot-spots for your comfort. Optane Drives are very handy for increasing the speed of any device with a hard drive. It's way faster than just a standard HDD ( ex,.an Optane M.2 module placed in a 7th-gen Core motherboard can speed up overall performance by 28% and increase data access by 1400%)Although Optane technology isn't currently much faster than 3D NAND, the biggest advantage when they are paired together, is in the lower latency access times, which make this 4 to 5 times faster.Optane has the capabilities to make the programs and files that you access the most, faster to retrieve as Optane holds those files in it's memory, even after shut downs for quicker processing times when you want to use them again. The GeForce integrated graphics offers 3D capabilities and can easily handle photo and video edits, and even play a lot of games smoothly. Although, I found that the more demanding games like Mortal Kombat, Call of Duty, and Fortnite could still run good, but at reduced video qualities.  The installed RAM is 8GB of DDR4, but can be upgraded to a max of 16GB, for some additional performance.   the Express charge lets you go from 0% to 35% in just 20 minutes, and 80% in 1 hour Dell Cinema offers the best in current HDR with Dolby Vision, and improved audio with Waves MaxxAudio Pro, and it even tries to enhance your streams by using SmartByte to maximize channel bandwidth for reduced stutter and maximum video quality. The Dell Mobile connect is really a fascinating feature, it lets you connect directly to your smart phone and funnel your notifications from calls, texts, IMs and other apps, directly to your laptop, so that your phone can stay in your pocket or wherever while you are working on your laptop. The description states the keyboard as being "RGB" , but after looking through the settings and a very lengthy call to dell support, we have concluded that the only color available on this laptop's keyboard backlight is white. Not too sure why it was mentioned in the description of this model, unless it was a fluke that I got a different variant of this laptop. After scrolling through the hardware specifications, Dell support was able to see that the keyboard on my laptop is only capable of the white backlight. Everything else, as far as I have seen seems to be correct about the descriptions. This laptop does have an impressive array of features similar to a higher end or more expensive device, and while the performance is good, it's not as good as some of my other more expensive pc's. However for the price range it is in, it performs very well and has a lot to offer. Most of the benchmarks I performormed had this laptop ranking above average for it's class. The only test that came out lower than average was the graphics, but as I had stated earlier, the graphics are still good enough to play most games, just some at a reduced video quality. The laptop is light enough to carry anywhere, but still sturdy enough to hold it's form while flipping it around, I have noticed that on some lower quality devices that the frame will twist a little bit, if you are only using one hand to hold it, but not this one. Overall I think this 2-in-1 laptop is a great mid-grade device, that should be able to handle virtually all of your general needs. This laptop is designed more for convenience with it's ability convert easily into a writing tablet, a drawing pad, a TV, a game pad, web browser, and more especially with the included Cortana features.

A larger 2 in 1 that is very fast. It has Optane memory and a M.2 SSD. From boot up to calling up programs everything comes up right away. The 15" screen is nice on a 2 in 1 and looks good at 1080p. With the 4 core/8 thread 10 gen Intel CPU, and on-board graphics, it's been great at mid-level games too. The memory and drive space are enough to have a good number of programs and run them well. The power button is unmarked on the keyboard and doubles as fingerprint reader for logging in securely by default. It functions well in it’s dual role. Bloatware isn't a big problem. Find what you don't want and it is easily removed and doesn't come back. I didn't find many unwanted programs, and freed up a little over a GB, which was mostly one program. I upgraded the machine to Windows 10 Pro and connected it to my network with no issues. Additional ports for video and ethernet from a dock connected by the USB-C port worked with no issues. Charging or powering the device from the included cable or through the USB-C port works fine. For wireless I got a solid fast AC connection. The sound was good as a laptop, but in stand mode with the speakers elevated and pointing towards you it's better. The unit was responsive in all modes, laptop, stand, and tablet. It responded well and switching from table to laptop mode and back was easy. The keyboard is back lit and also has a full number pad on it. The trackpad works fine. There is even a calculator shortcut button. The keyboard spacing is not to crammed, but being a 15" device, the number pad fits in fine. With USB-C, USB3, HDMI, power, micro SD, and 3.5mm headphone connections you have enough to connect almost anything. The micro SD slot is great for adding additional storage. Connecting BT mice and headsets is easy and works fine. Overall this 2 in 1 is a solid performer. With Optane and a M.2 SSD, it's really fast. The screen is nice and the onboard graphics make graphics look sharp. Only issue with it has been the fan can get loud under heavy loads, but that's not all the time, and didn't bother me, usually the computer is quiet or you hear a low-level fan blow. It never got to hot in my lap or on a desk.

Dell Review It’s been a while since I purchased a PC. With the new digital age of tablets and smart phones, I have been reluctant in investing on a new computing system for three reasons; 1) their cumbersome size and weight 2) software maintenance yearly fees and constant updates 3) and simply did not want to connect on a computer at home after looking at a screen for nine hours at the office. But then, I quit my job in the corporate world and my wife joined the workforce by starting her own business. Which lead to a business need and priority in searching for a affordable lab top for designing and data processing. My review will focus on two components of my experience with the Dell Inspiron 7000 2 in 1, i5 model. Those being of overall functional performance (output) and appearance (style). My setup unfortunately took me longer than expected as the item was forwarded to a secondary address where my in laws have survived without internet since it’s invention 20 something odd years ago. Had to rely on slow WiFi bandwidth from the local library in town for updates to kick in and other necessary things. Very frustrating on my end, nothing bad on Dell. So here is my feedback. Once the system was up and running I followed the prompts of Cortana. The finger scanner is a neat addition in keeping up with the trends in power keys and fingerprint readers. However, since the updates it has not been reading my finger correctly. I will have to redo the set up. For now I will have to continue using the pin feature. Another innovative feature was the ability to pair my iPhone to it and was impressed on how easy it is to upload our contacts with the their Dell Mobile Connect. Thank you for the ease, much appreciated. Keeping my wife’s business leads will make things convenient. I mostly appreciate the versatility of the 2 in 1 feature. This makes it worth your while. I have been working on creating slide presentations for her business pitches and having the dual functionality makes it both practical and functional. The hardest part will be choosing which app to use during presentations, good problem to have. Streaming movies on HD in a 15.6” screen has been a bonus. For years my wife has bugged me in purchasing another tv for us. Due to my conviction in keeping our bedroom t.v. free, this has allowed for a compromise where we are both happy. Plus I may say, I dig the easy Bluetooth pairing of our headsets making things worth the personal cinema experience. The computer’s appearance itself is a stylish silver chrome, aka eye candy. One thing that was missing though was a DVD drive. Noting the heavyweight of 5 lbs. Having to stream has made it challenging if not humbling when taking it to my in laws, as I found myself dependent on the hours of operations of the local library in downloading movies to stream later on. They live on an old plantation estate in Hawaii. I guess the ideal place to go on a technology detox. LOL Overall we are satisfied with the looks and fast performance this model brings. It has exceeded all our expectations and all reluctance’s I have had in the past so far. We look forward in the optimal usage of this machine once we return back to the mainland.

I'd say this is a very good laptop for school / collage students looking for a solid build computer with nice features. Aluminum brush all over. 2-in-1 with touch screen. It is reasonably heavy as a laptop but a bit overweight as tablet (to my taste). I am kind of old school, not really using touch screen on laptops (young people do it more). i5 10th generation is a big improvement. I was skeptical, honestly... Maybe it is the combination of the SSD+Optane and the 10th i5 that is giving the laptop this fast performance. Aluminum body provides very good heat dissipation and even cooling. No bothering hot spots or CPU over heating. When turning on the computer, Win10 forces you to create a Microsoft account or login using your current credentials. I like to use the local login feature. If you are like me, just bypass the wifi configuration until you are logged on. It is working fine with me. This Inspiron has good connectivity ports: USB-C, HDMI, sound jack and regular USB making it daily use friendly. No CD I know, it is something normal now. The display is not bad. True it is not the 4K but doing the job just fine. I tried some light games and they are ok (Generals, Truck simulator, other simulation games) using it for productivity is not bad at all. Rendering just fine all designing software and also handling well text editing and math software. Battery life is ok. I didn't have time to push it to the limit, beside, the battery life will really be the best after at least 3 charging cycle (by experience). I used it for about 3.5h with no problem. Track pad is ok. sensitive and feels good. No lag or breaking. Wifi range is not bad at all. Covering all the spots where I use my computers. No complains. Fast and reliable. In summary: Priced well, fast performing CPU, average to good storage, not bad 8GB RAM (I'll eventually add another 8GB), good for daily use). I'd recommend it for average user and for students.

This is actually my husbands review of the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 computer as I got the computer for him. I'll start by explaining that I'm a retired 65yr. old man who's not extremely talented or understanding of how a computer works. I pretty much hand the computer to my wife whenever I need help or run into problems. That said, I was extremely surprised at how easy starting & setting up this computer was. I simply followed the voice instructions (believe it was from Cortana, again I'm not good with computers) & within minutes everything was done & I was surfing the internet. The very 1st thing I noticed was just how awesome the graphics were, much better than my old laptop. Next I noticed the lighted keypad. At my age & being a person who types with a single finger one letter at a time the lighted keyboard is very much welcomed in the evening. I like to sit on the couch & have the laptop in my lap as I use it. My old computer in my lap would get warm, with this computer there's no heat. This computer however is a slight bit heavier than my old. (Both the same size screen) This one weighs 4.6 lbs. while my old one weighed 4.1 lbs. Other notable differences I've seen or noticed are this computer has no CD disc player & I don't see a battery compartment. The sound system is crisp & clear. Overall I'm impressed & pleased with this computer, my only wish would be that it'd be lighter in weight.

I really like this 2-in1. It's very fast, thin and relatively light. Although it doesn't come with a pen as some do, the speed and performance make up for it. It's metal design also seems very durable. The wrist rests are in a good spot and the track pad works great as well although I've personally found it hard to get used to not having buttons. There is a separation indicator though so that works. The flip design is great and the keyboard turns off when the unit is flipped so there are no accidental keypresses. The display is clear and crisp as well. I can see this unit quickly becoming my go-to unit for all my writing and other computer tasks.

Fan keeps braking, making lots of noise

2 years in, it started making lots of noise. Through my Chase warranty, I got a technician to replace the fan. Unfortunately, a year later, the fan is making noise again the technician can't find the fan because it's been discontinued. Another negative is I never found a stylus that worked well with the screen. Otherwise, it was a great computer, but because of this, and other problems I've heard from Lenovo users, I doubt I'll ever buy Lenovo again.

WiFi Adapter is not working - malfunctioning parts

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was pretty happy to purchase this new laptop and was pleasantly surprised with a nice big bright screen. However, pretty soon I was extremely disappointed. The laptop was not able to maintain WiFi connection - it would connect to WiFi, but after you close the lid or the laptop goes to the sleep mode - you will not be able to reconnect. Even restarts will not work. I tried to do all driver and bios updates and missed my 15d return window. You can tell that having unstable WiFi connection is the biggest nightmare. And he I should say neither Dell, nor BestBuy support were not of any help. BestBuy pointed fingers at Dell and Dell kept saying that it is not a hardware issue and is not covered by my warranty. They wanted 100$ for fixing the issue. Which was extremely unfair because it is a brand new laptop. It ended up with purchasing a new WiFi Adapter on Amazon for $25 and installing it, because neither BestBuy, nor Dell support were of any help. Yes, it is hardware issue and Dell doesnt admit it. DONT BUY THIS LAPTOP unless you are ready to immediately replace parts.
