Great keyboard and screen => great laptop.

I wanted a 15.6 inch screen, a matte display, and a comfortable keyboard requiring minimal pressure for each keypress. That's exactly what I got with this Dell Inspiron for an incredible price. It is key that the screen and keyboard are top quality as these parts cannot be upgraded. This has a far superior keyboard and screen than it's 15.6 inch lenovo competitor, with its stiff keys and dull screen. It's fantastic to see a 15.6 matte display on the market. Hopefully there are more to come. For my eye health this is essential.

    Painfully slow and crashes

I think I’ve used this computer 3-4 times and I only downloaded a new internet browser. It’s just been ridiculously slow out of the box and now barely works with out restarting it several times. It’s not worth the money or aggravation. By the time that I get the browser opened I could of done 5 separate tasks on my Mac. There is ZERO reason why this computer is so slow. I bought a Dell several years ago and figured things have changed and I was obviously wrong. I will NEVER buy another Dell product again. This is going back to the store.

    Charging Portal Issues

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This laptop was in my price-point and had all the features I needed. Operation and use were very good. I would have given it a much higher rating but for one thing. Seems there's an issue with the charging port on this computer. It's less than a year old and the charging port has already come off and fallen back inside. This isn't covered under warranty and costs almost $200 to fix since the repair involves completely removing the motherboard to access and repair. I've noticed that there are lots of folks who have had this problem. I don't recommend this computer for that one reason.

I purchased this computer in March and I've only had problems. Sales Employee said it was a great computer. It crashes usually within minutes when I log in. Dell runs all sorts of tests and claims it is working properly but it doesn't. Also, it is very slow. Has problems with viewing email. Very disappointed.

This laptop is very slow and kept closing out of the application i was working in several times. It was very frustrating. It also would not completely install windows updates and kept giving errors. I returned this laptop and will save up to get a MacBook. I was needing a laptop that was not to expensive but would get the job done. If it wasn't for it closing out of the applications, I may have kept the laptop.

A lemon (being nice) with everything that can go wrong will. Had a Dell years ago and thought this would be a good go to traveling laptop. HA! Surprise, surprise. Dell, what happened to your quality? Shuts down on its own. Save anything and its brain can't remember where it was stored. Duh. Don't try to download songs as it will drive you crazy! Maybe a tech was thinking about vacation or the weekend. Well please take this junk/trash with you and cry the blues.

    Terrible Product

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought two of these on May 17th. I was planning on using them for work. They sat in the box until a week ago. I was on it for about an hour before I could even get the internet to load up. When I say the internet, I mean the actual application. Both of these do this. This is not a good deal. Stay away. To add insult to injury, the price went down to $199. I am not happy with Best Buy or Dell. I've got two useless computers that Best Buy and Dell are selling to their consumers. It's not a good look.

Just purchased this laptop two weeks ago. Today I will be returning it. Windows kept crashing. Saying that Windows was not installed correctly. I rest the computer four times. I called Dell to see what they can do. Their factory warranty only covers hardware issues. They wanted me to purchase their $100 warranty in order to fix it. I bought this computer BRAND NEW.
