I can’t call it 5 stars because it’s bottom tier “performance-wise” for laptops today. Video editors, online gamers and the rest of you with hobbies that require high performance should look elsewhere- but you know that! Don’t buy this as a gaming PC and cry about it. I use this for office work. That means some very general web-browsing to search for information a few times per day, lots of spreadsheet work, text only documents, the occasional PowerPoint presentation, and using company software for client information input etc. I’m VERY happy with the product for this purpose. I probably wouldn’t recommend it for anything else. But I don’t think you can beat the bang-for-buck for a simple office work computer. For those who care: -company IT guy WILL complain about it because “well, 8GB of RAM would be better”, yea- thanks Jeff. -Windows 10 Pro runs very smoothly on it. -heavier than some other laptops -it’s pretty power cord dependent. If you adjust performance settings to make it comfortable to use (speed-wise) on battery, it drains quickly. Keep it plugged in and it’s fine. -invest in a mouse. The touchpad isn’t that great. It’s responsive when moving the cursor, but clicking works when it wants to, which is about 4/5 clicks. Great for the money.

This computer was bought for my mom, who doesn't care about power or multitasking. She simply wanted a computer that would have enough storage to hold her files and one that could do everyday tasks pretty quickly. She is pleased, for the most part, with this computer. It is meeting her needs; however, the only downfall (and this comes with choosing SATA over SSD) is that it can be sluggish, especially right after boot up. Even that can be upgraded if it is ever needed. The computer has a nice screen and a nice keyboard. Nothing too fancy, but both feel and look nice. For the price paid for this computer, and we caught it on a sale, we are quite pleased with the purchase.

This is a decent laptop for surfing the net and using basic apps. My daughter needed something with storage space because the up notebook had hardly any. This was on sale for 209 and has worked really well so far. It's a little slow but I knew that going in. I'd say for the price I paid it's a good buy.

Bought at a good price for a computer to do bills on. It's a little slow but does what I need it to do. The battery doesn't last long about 2 hours.

Bought this for my wife as a replacement for a dying laptop. I got the computer on a special sale, so I went for it. My wife really just needs access to email and internet, so I figured a basic computer would be good. I was a bit disappointed in the speed of the computer. It seems slower than I was expecting. At first, I thought maybe something was wrong with it, but I think it was just all of the updates it had to do initially that slowed it down. It seems a bit faster now, but still slower than expected. I did not really want to spend more at this time, so we decided to keep it. In hindsight, I kind of wish I had waited for a higher end model to go on sale for maybe within $100 more. Dells are great and I have been using them for years. Very reliable. I would recommend this computer for a basic needs and a budget price (on sale).

I needed a laptop to use for a project. I needed a device that I could easily transport and use anywhere. I didn't want to use my "home device" for the project. I didn't need high-end memory or processor to do the research, web browsing and document creation required for the project. I was able to buy the computer, laptop carry-case, and mouse for $300.

not really a fast laptop with 4 gb memory but I got it as a gift and gets the job done for the most part next time ill be sure to get a higher ram to the processing speed is not so slow. oh and I'm not enjoying the new windows interface since its kind of more for touch screens which this is not.

Nice laptop for a$200,i was told by the associate that this laptop will slow it function after 6 month. That's why im hesitant to buy this laptop.but still ended up buying this laptop.as of now i don't have problem.the only thing that i don't like is the battery life is too short .take only 4 hours of battery life.

This laptop is performing well for the price that I paid. I use it for Office programs, online searching, social media, and card games. It works as expected which is not too slow but not very fast. It is not a system for gamers or heavy duty users, but would be fine as a travel system or for a student.

Ok gotta say for the price it's a great laptop. It even has a dvd player, 3 ports for usb two are 2.0 and one for 3.0 it has a cam. the only draw back it is slow not all that slow but slow. I can deal with that. So all in all a great laptop to own. Price is right and a dell so you can'[t beat that.

When I bought it, it was extremely slow. Now that I upgraded the 4GB to 8 and the hard drive to a SSD, it flies. The AMD A6 7th Gen is more than sufficient for personal or office use. It is NOT a gaming computer by any stretch. Even with upgrades, it is a basic computer, but works much faster!

Needed just a basic laptop for web browsing, checking email and watching work dvds. This worked out fine and was a great price for a 15" screen. Is heavier than other laptops I've had. Set up was a breeze. USB ports are a little picky and tight.

I purchased this for my kiddos to do their homework. Thus far its getting the job done. I didn't want to put a whole in my wallet but I wanted them to be able to work on it with ease. I like the parental control options and set up is very easy.

Overall it's just a little slow and I do have a high-speed Spectrum connection but for $200 I can't complain everything works I'm happy with the Dell product and the price that Best Buy gave me

For the price, this is a good value for a basic laptop. The first 2 days will be spent letting Windows update, but that’s not the laptop...it’s Windows. Let it do it and then you’ll be ok for a couple of weeks. Lol. If you want to make this a solid student laptop, shop around and drop another hundred for another 4GB stick of RAM and a 120GB SSD. Be warned, though, unlike other brands, this one is a royal pain to upgrade. To get to the memory and hard drive requires the removal of the 1) optical drive, 2) keyboard, 3) complete bottom cover. That’s about a dozen tiny screws and 2 small ribbon cables. Dear Dell, grab some of your competitor’s laptops and take notice. It should be pretty easy to get to these commonly upgraded components.

i looked at best buy information on computers online. then went to the store and spoke with a man at customer service who advised what computers were available and their cost. i chose an inexpensive model for the first time computer for my brother. i wanted a laptop he could use in his bedroom upstairs. i just discovered that you can watch dvd movies on it. i believe this will be a good computer for someone to start out with. i hope anyway.i was told it does not have much storage capacity. so you can't download a lot of stuff. the store customer service department was an excellent place to obtain product information without a sales pitch for one type of computer over another. i personaly use a desktop computer. i have enjoyed what time i have spent using this laptop computer so far. good clear picture. easy to adjust volume. i wanted to start out with an easy to use computer for my brother's first computer. i opted to not go with the office program that comes with this computer and that knocked off $50 from it's price.

It’s a decent laptop for the price. Best uses would be casual web browsing, bill pay, light document editing, etc. First thing to do is to replace the spindle disk with a 240GB SSD drive and add another 4GB of RAM. Word of warning, though, this is not as easy as it should be. There is no 2-3 screw access panel for these upgrades (this is the reason I deducted a star), but it’s doable by anyone at home with a #0 Phillips screwdriver. Don’t use the disk cloning software that comes with the new drive, rather download the Windows 10 medium onto a USB thumb drive and install it fresh. Do those things and you’ll have a snappy little laptop that is good for the price.
