We purchased this laptop as a Christmas gift. It does everything that she needs and she loves it

Not as light weight as I thought it would be but it's a laptop for meeting my needs. The memory and hard drive are the key components for my purchase.

This laptop was all that I thought that it would be for the price. It does everything that I want it to and it does them efficiently... The large amount of storage means I never have to worry about having to erase things and the ram is sufficient to run what I need at quick speeds...

We needed a good, reliable laptop after the battery in our last one wouldn't hold a charge. This Dell fits the bill perfectly. Good size screen. Plenty fast for internet usage and documents. We don't do any fancy gaming or anything. And it has the extras we needed like DVD player.

I was in need of a cheap single purpose laptop (basically nothing more complicated than web browsing). Having not participated in Black Friday for probably about 8 years, I came out of hiding to make this purchase. After spending a couple of days with the laptop I do not regret my purchase... With some caveats. For starters, you get what you pay for, and this is after all a cheap laptop. The screen is mediocre at best but does the job. I didn't think that this unit came with an optical drive, but it did. No big deal per-se it's just a feature that I will likely never use. The HDD is your standard old 5400rpm spinning disk and serves as a bottleneck for the rest of an otherwise decent system. Solution... I also purchased a cheap 120GB SSD to install. I spent a day with the stock configuration while waiting for the SSD to arrive in the mail and felt satisfied with my purchase knowing that the HDD was soon to be replaced. Today I finished installing the SSD (there is a service manual on Dell's site with detailed tear down instructions). This was an absolute chore (I've torn down many a laptop over the years) and something I don't wish to go again. Side note... As with most off the shelf machines, it comes pre-installed with a bunch of bloat-ware. So, after installing the SSD I performed a clean install of Windows 10. I'm sure this has a significant impact on performance as well. With the SSD in place the performance of the machine has improved immensely. Totally worth the extra $40 and my time completely tearing down this thing to replace the drive (I really wish Dell had made the RAM and HDD more easily serviceable). Side note, I am completely happy with the stock 6GB RAM but if you were to want to upgrade to 8GB, you still have to pretty much take the whole machine apart. Pros: *cheap *does the job *quite nimble with a cheap SSD upgrade *the design is quite pleasing, for a plastic laptop *integrated numeric keypad (a plus for my purpose) Cons: *tedious to service the internal parts. *screen is washed out and appearance leaves a lot to be desired. If you are going to buy this model, do yourself a favor and swap the HDD for a SSD. Then grab yourself a external HDD enclosure, take the stock 1TB disk, and make yourself a cheap backup disk (or whatever else you want to use it for).

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my mom and she loves it! It is very easy to use, it's very responsive and fast. The screen is a great size and has great resolution. She has not had any problems so far. Her one complaint is that it did not come with Microsoft office.

I have been using Dell from almost 4 years and I never had any issues. This laptop is fast enough for my needs. Good value for the money.

This laptop is an excellent buy considering its RAM and 1TB hard drive. Not so impressed with Windows 10 not letting me postpone updates.

For the money, a great deal. The laptop is perfectly sufficient, however, the one downside is the mouse pad. Kind of counter intuitive...

Enough HD space. Plenty of RAM for daily tasks. Doing homework, browsing the net, youtube. Good laptop for a student or a minimal task.

Bought this for my 11 year old. It's perfect for what he needs. Big screen, good battery, plenty of space. Definitely worth the price.

I only paid $249 and it has exceeded my expectations for the price. I wish they stayed at $249 because I would buy another one, but it was purchased around Black Friday. This works as well as my $700 assigned business laptop for work. Great buy for the price!

my old lap top had finally given up. this dell was amazing on price and matches my needs exactly. i do many fantasy sports i can have websites open for each sport to check stats stream games via various apps and check email and other things awesome lap top

My wife bought this notebook primarily for business, but my daughter uses it for her online activities too. The numeric keypad and widescreen display are great, even if Windows 10 is a bit awkward. Recommended.

great laptop, fast and love the large screen. It has nice processor, that allows me to run multiple programs at once. Nice Deal.

I let my child see the laptop, since she knew she was getting it for Christmas, but wrapped it up so she has not been able to actually work on it. She liked the sleekness of it and the weight was very minimal. She can't wait until Christmas to open it.
