Ktrunner, We're glad that you got a good deal on your new Dell laptop from Best Buy. It's too bad to hear that your computer is a little slow to start-up but if you'd like to help the overall speed of your device you can try these tips: Delete temporary files and directories 1. Click Start, then in the search bar type "disk". Disk Cleanup should appear on the menu above the search box. 2. Run disk cleanup and eliminate unneeded temporary files (Search results, Internet Cache and other windows temp files you may no longer need) 3. Select files you want to delete then click OK to start the cleanup process. Uninstall applications you no longer use 1. Open the Programs and Features application in Control Panel. 2. Scan the list of applications installed for ones that you no longer use. 3. Highlight any application you no longer use and then click the uninstall button at the top of the list. Follow the prompts to uninstall. 4. Repeat for each application you want to uninstall. 5. Move large files and/or seldom used files to backup media (Photos, Music you seldom listen to, application downloads after the application has been installed etc.). 6. Empty the Recycle Bin. I bought this computer to specifically use for crafting (I have a cutting machine with software). Within less than 3 months of using it, there was an issue with the hard drive and it had to be replaced. It was an inconvenience to ship it to Dell to be fixed, but they repaired it quickly and I haven't had any issues since.

I'm returning this laptop. I know that good, basic Dell computers can be bought within this price range, but this isn't one of them. I'm not sure why with 6GB RAM this computer is so slow, but it freezes if I'm playing a YouTube video while checking my email. I tried fixing the problem by uninstalling the antivirus, making sure nothing was running in the background, etc, and it didn't work. It can't even keep up with my typing speed; the letters on the screen lag. It can't open Microsoft Word documents with 40k+ words without freezing. It has more glitches than my old Dell after seven years of daily use.

It is a very good laptop. Part of a good line of design (I owned 3 different one). The processor is fast enough for basic office software. The graphic card is good for watching videos and for streaming. It has a CD reader.

Bought this for my neice to take to college. She loves it. All she has ever used is a MAC .... I told her when she graduates, and starts a job, most major business use windows desktops. Time for her to get used to it.
