Horrible laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I don’t know where to start. When I first got the laptop it was fairly decent. I got it for school. Not even a week after I got it. It was slow and was freezing constantly. So I took it to the geek squad. After I got it back from them that night, it started restarting itself over and over again. So I went back and got something different. The moral of the story Is this laptop sucks.

Posted .@TheGuy - Thanks for your recent Dell laptop purchase and for your review. It's unfortunate to hear about the problems that you have had with your new device recently. Here are some steps we'd suggest that you try if you continue to experience slowness on your device:
Delete temporary files and directories
1. Click Start, then in the search bar type "disk". Disk Cleanup should appear on the menu above the search box.
2. Run disk cleanup and eliminate unneeded temporary files (Search results, Internet Cache and other windows temp files you may no longer need)
3. Select files you want to delete then click OK to start the cleanup process. Uninstall applications you no longer use 1) Open the Programs and Features application in Control Panel. 2) Scan the list of applications installed for ones that you no longer use. 3) Highlight any application you no longer use and then click the uninstall button at the top of the list. Follow the prompts to uninstall.
4. Repeat for each application you want to uninstall.
5. Move large files and/or seldom used files to backup media (Photos, Music you seldom listen to, application downloads after the application has been installed etc.).
6. Empty the Recycle Bin.
You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2tSulGV.
If you are still experiencing freezes and lock-ups on your computer here is what we'd recommend:
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below: 1) Start the computer. 2) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.) 3) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter. 4) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access. 5) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete steps 6 and 7 to see if you are able to resolve the lock ups or freezing.
3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI.

Worthless as a PC. Makes an expensive paperweight
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this a week ago. Since then I have had it freeze up at least three times a day where I have to do a "hard crash" and then reboot to get it to function. Today--it took over five hours and three factory restores to even get it to boot up and now it takes 10 minutes to boot up and over a minute for web pages to load. The only way I would recommend this to a friend would be if I no longer valued that friendship.

Save your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Save your money or spend a little more on something actually worth your time. Right out of the box this computer is god awful slow. The boot time is about 3 minutes until you actually get logged in and all of the background programs running like your antivirus. There are no indicator lights for anything except for power and caps lock. No loading lights, no num lock light, etc. For the money spent on this I expected better than my laptop which is 5 years old with a much older processor and less RAM but even that is MUCH quicker and can multi task without any hesitation.

Terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Price point was good, I need this for working at home and most of the reviews were favorable. Out of the box, everything seemed fine but I had nothing but problems with this. 1. I started to set-up the computer around 9:30 PM, and was still up at 5:00 AM trying to get everything updated. The computer would restart after updating, and somehow it would find another update that would take forever. 2. SLOW does not even begin to describe this computer. I thought if I removed some of the unwanted & excess applications that I could speed it up a little bit..don't know if this would have worked or not because after the computer finally got done doing all of the updating, I couldn't get anything to respond. 3. From sleeping mode, it took 3 minutes to get logged in and finally at the Windows desktop home. 4. Took another 2 minutes to open Internet Explorer, but it was unresponsive when it did finally open. 5. The lag on this computer was painful, by seconds. Nothing I typed showed up quickly- and that's if it did at all. I took the computer back less than 24 hours later.

Worst Laptop Ever Bought
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an IT professional and really just needed a super cheap laptop nothing fancy. I never would have realized this is the slowest computer ever devised by man. Windows 10 is filled with so many bugs. Disk is always running at 100% on this computer no matter what you do. This is one of the slowest processors out there. It takes minutes just to open a blank excel file. It takes even longer to open the internet. This is right out of box too. I added nothing. I simply turned it on. Worst experience ever. Do not buy.

Run Away From This Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the slowest computer I have ever had, slower than the 8 year old HP which I was replacing because it was slow. I called Dell who did some tests and then told me I had to send it back for repairs using FedEx Ground. FedEx had my computer for 10 days, I had it for 9. I got it back a few hours ago and it is NOT repaired, the same thing is happening again. I called Dell and was told it was out of warranty because I had it for more than 30 days. I lost it at this point because I had just purchased it 20 days ago. Dell told me it was purchased on 6/22. Apparently Best Buy is responsible for updating the sold date on computers to reset the warranty and they never did. After demanding my money back for this piece of junk, they told me they would exchange it ,not for the refurbished computer per policy, but for a brand new one. I do not have high hopes that the new one will be any better but I do know I will never buy another Dell product.

Get this if you want to be aggravated.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has been nothing but problems since i unboxed it. First I downloaded all the recommended software and it was EXTREMELY SLOW. After troubleshooting for 2 days online I finally un installed McAfee and now the speed is close to normal. It updates EVERY 2 DAYS, and the updates take at least an hour every time! For the past week it has not been charging when I plug it in. I am currently 8% plugged in not charging...I hope to find my receipt so I can take it back to Best Buy and figure something out. I will NEVER buy a Dell again. My Acers always lasted at least 2 years before having ANY of these problems. I have had this laptop about a month...

Dell Inspiron 15 3000
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im extremely angry about this laptop. I was busy and didnt get a chance to really use it until after the 15 day return policy was up, or I would have returned it. Its impossible to do anything on. The mouse pointer bounces around causing you to click on the wrong things repetetively, the idea of buttons being a part of the touchpad is a horrible idea, especially if you are use to a laptop that has separate actual buttons. Im constantly accidentally deleting things, moving files, and creating duplicate files everytime I use it. Its so aggravating Im ready to toss this laptop out the window. It just adds a huge amount of stress to my already stressed out life. Ive been using computers for 34 years, so Im not illiterate. This one was a complete waste of money. I would almost pay someone to take it away. Ive listed it on craigslist and no one wants it!

The absolute worst laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the worst laptop I have ever purchased... Simply booting the computer takes 5 minutes +, yes I timed it... Loading a website? Forget about it, you can't even log in once the computer has booted up. It just brings you to a black screen. Waited 4 hours for all the updates when you first turn on the computer and haven't even had the chance to try it out. Bought it last night, did the updates, came home to try to use it to no success. It will be going back tomorrow.

Slowest Laptop Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the slowest laptop I have ever owned, and I've owned several. You really do pay for what you get. I regret not spending a little more for a better model. Very frustrating to use even for basic web browsing, which is really all I bought it for. The last $300 laptop I purchased was a Toshiba and it worked much better than this one.
