    Worse laptop

There are better laptop than this model. Honestly, I am not a big fan of Dell but everytime I use it, they let me down. I was going to buy HP but this model has 4gb ram more than the hp laptop so I decided to buy this model. It's been two days and it takes a long time to open Microsoft Word. IT TAKES 1-2 MINUTES TO LOAD MICROSOFT WORD. My 8 year old Acer laptop loads faster than this brand new laptop. It also takes long time to load any websites and lags through videos. I cant believe how a brand new laptop that's been 2 days runs slower than my 8 year old Acer. My brother bought the hp model that is 4gb ram and it runs faster than this dell model. It also took 5 hours for the update to finish. And please don't have a laptop for a sale when you guys even dont have them. I found this one good laptop and the worker told me that they dont have it anywhere. What? Why would you display it when no one has that for a sale? And the workers are just rude and doesn't even know what they are talking about. It was my worst experience ever.

I really do love this laptop for my needs it's perfect. I would have given it 5 stars if it had a backlight keyboard. That's one of the main reasons I purchased this laptop. In the description it says it has one. It does not I was really looking forward to it really disappointing.

Gave this 3 stars as it is a nice laptop at a good price. But one of the reasons i bought this laptop was that is was supposed to have a backlit keyboard. When it arrived, i was disappointed to find that it does not have a backlit keyboard.

    Worst laptop I’ve ever owned!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My advice is to not buy this laptop. After using for only a couple months, I had to bring it in to Geek squad. They sent it off to Dell and the hard drive had to be replaced. I was without my laptop approximately 3 weeks. I have had it back for about 2 months now and had to bring it to geek squad again. It was not loading Windows. I was given a date and time to pick it up. I arrived about an hour after my scheduled time and was informed that it was still loading the windows update. I was asked if I’d like to come back in a few hours or take it home so it can finish updating. I chose to take it home because going back in a few hours as not an option. Here it is 5 hours later and I’m still trying to do this update. It keeps displaying a message that an error occurred with the option to click “retry”. Well I’ve tried several times now and NOTHING. I feel this laptop is definitely a lemon. This is the biggest piece of junk I’ve ever owned. Very disappointed in Dell and Best Buy. I wish I could return it for a refund , so I could purchase a laptop that would actually work. I guess at this point I’m stuck. Don’t waste your money on this laptop. If I could have given no stars , I surely would have.

    DO NOT BUY! HORRIBLE!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP! Choose a different brand! STAY AWAY FROM DELL! The hinges are defective and will break! Mine is less than a year old, under warranty, and the right hinge is broken.... It's pulling apart my computer screen and has cracked the base around the keyboard. DELL will not honor it's warranty, because it says that hinges aren't covered. Even though hundreds of people have reported the SAME ISSUE & submitted photos, DELL chooses to blame it's customers, saying that they are all "opening the laptop incorrectly". DELL really should recall this product, but I'm not counting on it. I wish BEST BUY would take this computer back and issue me a refund that I could put toward a good laptop :(

Pros - good size screen - multiple ports - it serves its purpose in research and paperwriting Cons - no disc port - heavy - gets really slow - can have issues with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Chrome, & Adobe - bad placement of mouse - can't put many apps or programs because the memory is easily overloaded

I purchased this laptop for simple tasks, such as word processing, internet browsing, and maybe some chat and music on the side. Nothing too heavy. I couldn't even get to installing these programs. With an internet speed of 0.30mbps (I have stable 45mbps throughout the house), lagging while merely pulling up file explorer and an utterly slow boot time, I was disappointed. Definitely pass on this one and spend a bit extra for something a little faster.

      a) Touch and hold or right-click the network icon (Available Networks or Network Icon, located in the lower right-hand corner).
      b) Touch or click Troubleshoot problems and then follow the prompts.
