    Excellent bang for the buck

I picked this up on a Black Friday deal for $699 and I consider that a steal. The SSD may have a low capacity but is definitely a must have. You can always drop a second drive in it very easily. This thing can run most games perfectly fine with high graphics settings and the IPS screen is much better than a TN panel. There are only 2 minor negatives associated with it. I would prefer 16 gigs of RAM in dual channel but dropping another stick in it is a piece of cake. The network card (Intel 3165) is garbage. Spend an extra $30 and grab an Intel 8265 network card. You'll more than double your Internet connection speed and once again, installing it is a snap. Overall, this is a really nice laptop for an excellent price. I highly recommend it.

    Great Value Gaming Laptop

Great laptop for beginning gaming or if you aren't looking to spend a lot. Got a great deal on it and couldn't pass it up. I added another 8gb of memory and a 2 tb firecuda hybrid drive. I use the ssd drive for the operating system and a few programs I use a lot. Then the hybrid drive for games and other programs. This boots up in no time and runs great. Keep the power supply handy. If you game a lot, the battery drains quickly. Easy to upgrade. Highly recommend.

I purchased this to replace our old laptop that we use for neurofeedback in our counseling office. We needed a gaming computer to handle running the neurofeedback program. This computer has been great and I'm very pleased with the value for the price.

    Great Budget Gaming Laptop

Hard to find anything that beats this for the price when it's on sale. Anything cheaper usually compromises on screen resolution, HDD vs SSD, or a lower-tier graphics card. Pros: - 1050 Ti should be enough for a couple of years of Med/High 1080p gaming - SSD is nice and quick + room to add another drive - Not much bloatware to uninstall Cons: - A little chunky, but nothing too crazy. This isn't an Ultrabook, but it's definitely portable

Blows Away Everything Else In Price Range

    Posted .

So I had the 7559 with the 960M and I absolutely loved it. This laptop was on sale for $200 off and I couldn't resist since I had such good experiences with the 7559. This laptop has the 4GB 1050Ti in it which is about 50% better than the 960M and the upgrade absolutely shows. First game of Overwatch I played I was blown away by the performance of the 4GB GPU. I love addition of the red backlighting on the keyboard, the 7559 had just standard white glow keys. Just like is predecessors, the build quality is top notch. Nice and sturdy with a modern yet low profile look to it. Yes it's on the heavier side but its performance laptop, you should expect that. I had no hesitation about staying with the i5 as opposed to the i7. If you do video editing, I'd go ahead with the i7 but if you are strictly using this for gaming (which is what I do) your 100% ok with the i5. I am able to run my games on High-Max AND have all my lighting going on my external keyboard, mouse and mousemat without losing any performance. (CUE & Synapse running while games are running. I couldn't do this on the 7559 with the i5). Comes with the SSD, which for me, is a must now-a-days. Won't even touch a machine that doesn't have an SSD. Boot up time including launching apps that run on start is under 15 seconds. DD8GB R4 Ram, perfectly fine for gaming on this machine. No complaints here. Lets get to the stuff I wasn't to fond of: Just like the 7559, this one's trackpad is just garbage. For me, not a big deal cause I use a mouse but if you need a good trackpad don't get this laptop. The fans. Oh my god the fans. They are perfectly find with browsing the internet or not doing intensive things. But man, when you are gaming the fans are very loud. I use headphones when I play so I don't really care but I'm telling you, they are loud as anything. You will think you got a broken machine and will want to take it back cause you think something is wrong. Nothing is wrong. After looking into it and calling Dell this is normal when the computer is running at high performance. To Dells credit, it stays impressively cool. I've never felt this thing overheat but it comes at the cost of a jet engine sound. The speakers, once again like the 7559, aren't great. Like I mentioned I used headphones so I don't care but sometimes but sometimes I watch twitch on this while I am working on my other computer and yea, the sound isn't that great. If any of you want frame data, here some popular games I play and the FPS I get: Overwatch - High Settings - 60 to 80 FPS. Ultra - 60 FPS Fornite - High Settings - 60 to 70 FPS - Ultra - 60 FPS WoW - Ultra Settings - 60 FPS (runs to smooth, never done High) TLDR: This thing is a monster for the price. Buy it. PROS: The i5 processor is better than expected The 4GB 1050 Ti (amazing performance for a laptop) SSD Build Quality Looks and Design CONS: The trackpad The Fans. My god the fans.... The speakers are meh. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this and it will hold me over just fine until the prices of GPUs go down so I can build my own rig.

    Pleased with the purchase

Wanted a capable laptop that I could do some gaming on. The ease of access to upgrade the components and the extra slot for a 2.5 hard drive sealed the deal for me. Also comes with IPS panel which replaced the TN panel in older models is a plus. Speakers sound great, battery life lasts long enough for a full days work , and back lit keyboard are all pluses. 1050ti is plenty capable for me and the games I will be playing. I would buy again.

I have been able to play recent games with no problem. Some games can run with High settings. For performance I play games on Medium settings, but for being laptop at the price I cant complain. The laptop is heavy, if you're looking for light weight then this is not for you.

I have been very pleased so far

I got a laptop with great specs, including a discrete graphics card, at a great price. I am very pleased with this purchase. A few things to note: The laptop feels bulky. It's definitely bigger than my last laptop in the same size range but they had to put all those components somewhere and it's not hugely different. My favorite feature thus far is the speakers though. My last computer had one small speaker and it was a nightmare for watching movies or listening to music. The speakers on this system are great.

Great all around laptop that can game!

My 1st personal laptop, I wanted SSD and ability to do some gaming. This fits the bill alright! The outside looks stylish w/ red accents but not overbearing. The SSD boots up lightning quick. I like the feel of the keyboard and push pressure of the keys. I occasionally drag the cursor with my palm on the trackpad but getting used to that. The left/right buttons on the trackpad work well. If you do load a few games or heavy photo/video you will start to run out of disk space so you will need to add, but I planned on this and wanted to SSD to start. Great Laptop!

I got this laptop to run some heavy programs like solid works, visual studio and do some gaming on the side. This laptop runs everything just fine. I don't think I have heard the fans kick on yet! I did find that some web based games can't seem to read the directx correctly. I have found work arounds so far. The keyboard is responsive. You know when you hit a button and so far not overly sensitive so I haven't experienced a double tap. The built in mouse is sensitive in the beginning but adjusting the settings fixed that. The screen looks great. I haven't seen any glitches in the Windows 10 system so far. I have had it about 2 months now.

    Speed

Very fast and easy to use. I love the backlit keyboard. The keyboard feels very nice and it is an island-type. I wish there was more memory but I just downloaded all the necessary programs and I just use an external flash drive. I use it for electrical engineering and it does everything ship-shape. It is very great for the price. Everyone says the screen is terrible but it is good since I hate the glossy type anyway (personally). But the screen doesn't serve a hindrance to the overall performance of the laptop. I'm glad that it has a GTX 1050Ti for the price. It is awesome and I really recommend it.

Not great if you plan to use it all day

I've had this laptop for about a year and it is getting very slow, even after formatting it several times it still doesn't hold up (I have a subscription to a antivirus and a anti-malware so i doubt it was a virus), I believe the cause of this was my heavy use of it for great amount of time (7 days a week, 4-8 hours, usually around 2 gb of memory of the 4gb the 1050ti provides). However this could be a great pc for a casual gamer or a student since it is capable of so much more than a normal laptop, and it looks amazing!

I was quite hesitant purchasing this Dell laptop in the beginning, but I was not willing to spend more than $1,000 just for a traveling gaming PC. So far, I haven't had any issues with my Dell. I've been able to play my usual games from my custom built high end PC, though in some cases in lower settings, but nothing too terrible. The fan can get quite loud, but I honestly didn't expect any less from a laptop. I monitor temperatures both at idle and full load, nothing alarming, but it sure gets pretty hot. Again, can't expect much less from a laptop.

I bought this after a lot of research on what computer would be best for my gaming kids. I had to return the first one because the battery died within 2 hours. I am hoping the 2nd one does much better. I am not a computer nerd so I honestly have no clue how to "review" a computer but we like it so far for playing mine craft, the sims, and other video games online.

Good for the price, but def bigger unit and needed to upgrade memory and SSD. Now it runs much faster. Dont expect it to be a beast for gaming, but works fine for COD.

I’m going to answer the question that everyone’s wondering: how well does it run pubg? It will run pubg, but you will need to basically have all settings on low to have a consistent 60fps. Feels kind of choppy. I think I’ll be trading thus in for a laptop with a 1060. I have a gtx 1080 desktop back home and needed something for business travel. Found this for 749 and figured That’s a good price. I guess I’m spoiled with my 1080 because the difference between this 1050ti to a 1080 is un real. Oh well, it will suffice I guess.

    Great Engineering Computer

I was searching for a computer that could handle running software that requires a lot of computing power and this laptop does awesome when running programs such as OrCAD/PSpice as well as various other 3-D modeling software and it does it with ease! The fact that you get a quad core processor and a NVIDIA GTX 1050ti for well under $1000 is one of the most appealing things about this laptop because it is hard to get these types of internals for so cheap. I highly recommend this product to anyone searching for a high power computer on a budget.

    Amazing performance for the price

    Posted .

I bought the laptop so that I could do some modest PC gaming. I am very impressed with the solid performance I get from most games. Some of the higher end games do need to be tuned down to run at 60+ FPS, but the laptop handles it well. Outside of gaming, this is a very well-built laptop. The keyboard is very responsive, touchpad is decent, and the screen is matte and great for gaming and general purpose use. The only negative is the weight. I'm used to carrying around a Thinkpad, which is lighter than the Inspiron, but that's something that I'm getting used to.

Great laptop at a solid price.

My initial concern was that this laptop wouldn't play my games since it wasn't a 1060 video card, but the 1050ti with the extra memory over my last 1060 with a 3GB card was about the same and the extra features and upgradability of this laptop made a solid purchase. The bottom has an open bay for adding an extra SATA 2.5 drive and easily accessible memory area as well. I am happy with this purchase. The only thing I wish was better was if it had USB ports on the back and if the backlit keyboard was brighter or could change colors.
