I absolutely do appreciate and enjoy the 4K Ultra HD touch screen when I am editing my photos. I did not realize how much better resolution the 3840x2160 would be than the 1920x1080 I was using previously. It's marvelous! I enjoy the back lighting of the keyboard when using as my husband is watching TV so I don't require a lamp. I haven't had it long enough to run out of storage, but I'm glad I should never have to worry about that. There is nothing about it that I don't like unless I could still have all the features it has and be a little lighter weight.

Open box buy. Great price. Had exactly what I wanted including optical drive for my old school stuff. No problems so far. It is much thinner and lighter then my old Toshiba. It does not fill as solid as the Toshiba but time will tell how it holds up. I am moving from win7 to win10 which is new to me. At this time I would give it a good or better rating.

When it comes to reliable, high quality computers, Dell, HP and possibly Lenovo are still the best choices, unless you want a true gaming PC and then its Alienware. The Dell Inspiron is legendary for affordable performance and enough processing power to handle any task. Don't take chances with off-brands and systems with components that may have compatibility and bios issues, buy the best from the get go.

I ordered this computer because of the price during the Black Friday Sale. I ended up loving it. It included a 10-key which is a must have on a laptop for me. It has a nice keyboard. The screen is clear and size is perfect. I use it for budgets, online college courses, and online shopping.

My only disappointment was that the in store "blue shirt" sold it to me as a "flip screen", meaning we could use like a tablet, so it would in essence also be a "touch screen". It is not. He talked us out of an in store buy that had all the above, to get this one online that was on sale. Needless to say that wasn't a deal breaker as the computer is great otherwise!

THIS LAPTOP PROVIDES A GREAT PLACE TO START

I purchased this laptop to replace a HP 490t which has Intel i7 extreme chip. I am not a gamer but use my computer to edit and render large video files. My HP 490t had become obsolete and required replacement but I was steered away from HP by many reviews that were less than complimentary. This Dell Laptop was cheap enough to buy as a place to build upon. I replaced the hard drive with a 1tb 7200 rpm WD Black and added a 8gb mem stick. so far I am happy with the speed but wish there was less bloatware from Dell. Its hard to concentrate with constant "reminders" and "Notifications" popping up. I set this laptop up to function with the lid closed and attached a Samsung 23" monitor along with two high speed external drives...wish there were more USB 3.0's. The laptop projects (casts) easily to my BD Player and Samsung 4k smart TV which makes reviewing video productions more enjoyable than just the monitor. Not being a techie I am curious as to how the two graphics cards work together; does this provide the same synergies as a dual card setup in a desktop computer? I would recommend this laptop to anyone, especially at the current pricing levels. For most users it will be more than adequate. For others like me, it's a good place to start.

I definitely got a great bargain on this computer. This was a gift for my sister who is not very tech savvy. The installation was a breeze and she was off and running in no time. It is much faster than the dinosaur she previously owned which makes communicating back and forth a lot smoother.

This computer is an amazing buy on sale. We got it for $200 off for Black Friday week. With the Intel i7-7500U AND the AMD 445 graphics, this is a steal. Both graphics cards (one on the processor and the other as a discrete chipset) are available for Windows to use. The AMD card has 4 GB of GDDR5 memory for itself, while the Intel graphics uses a little on-chip memory coupled with part the of main memory. With the 7th Generation Intel i7-7500U processor adjusting in speed from 2.7 Ghz (normal) to 3.5 Ghz (turbo), you never feel like you are waiting on the computer. Amazingly, this comes with 8 GB of DDR4-2400 Mhz main memory (Hynix) that is shown in Windows as fully available. Dell tweaks the memory speed of the Intel chipset to allow full speed use, unlike the HP and Lenovos we looked at while at Best Buy. The hard drive is adequate in speed, but we replaced it with a 1 TB Samsung EVO which was also on sale. We used Acronis Drive Image to duplicate the original hard drive first to a backup device, then to the Samsung. We added an extra 8 GB of RAM to fill out the slots and then tweaked Windows 10 to get rid of a bunch of privacy issues and other baggage. The end result is a computer that SCREAMS for a budget price. WE BOUGHT A SECOND one and fixed it up the same (one for me and the other for my wife). Other pluses: The computer is very sturdy and doesn't flex like other computers. It seems pretty light for its size. Dell has all the repair manual information on its website to change out equipment parts. The anti-glare screen really reduces glare. The noise level is quite low when the fan is on. The speakers have no problems or distortion when playing very loud (almost ear-hurting) sound. Playing full HD video from Amazon Prime for 2 hours doesn't even make it luke warm (it's still cold). Drawbacks: The screen has great color rendition, but poor range of good viewing angles. Dark colors look shimmery if 30 degrees off center. It doesn't have a touch screen (if you wanted that). It doesn't have the highest-end external ports built-in (USB 3.0 and not newer, for instance). 16 GB of RAM appears to be its maximum, but the processor would normally handle 32 GB. NOTE: At least one of two early reviewers for this computer do not know what they are talking about and obviously had never seen this computer. Please ignore their reviews.
