This laptop is an extremely mixed bag. On one hand, the specs are nice with plenty of memory, a Core i3 chip and an SSD hard drive (nice for the price). However, the display is so horrible that it drags this laptop into 1 or 2 star territory. I mean to say that this display is absolute junk, the worst LCD display I have ever encountered in my 25 years of being a technology enthusiast. Let me describe the issues with the display. The most glaring issue with the display is the miniscule vertical viewing angle. There is a sweet spot that allows for a borderline acceptable quality, however if you move the screen even 4 degrees up or down, it becomes almost unusable. Tilting the display away from the sweet spot just 4 or 5 degrees DOES make the display UNUSABLE, in that you can't see anything at all, it just turns black. Tilting it toward you is less problematic, but it is still very poor experience. So you are forced to find that sweet spot of display tilt and head position, and then don't dare move your head. WOW, its bad. I am terribly disappointed. I had purchased a middle priced Dell laptop a year ago for my wife and it is great. She loves it. So I thought, I'll get myself a Dell also when it was time to replace my laptop. This was a Black Friday sale for $279, and of course I didn't expect the same quality as my wifes $500 laptop, but I did expect it to function. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to really use and assess the unit until recently, after the return window had closed at Best Buy. I would have returned it if I could have after discovering just how bad the screen is. So now I'm stuck. I downloaded the graphics chip manufacturers drivers in order to get access to contrast and saturation controls and followed some online guides to try to make the display better but that didn't help at all. After initial setup of the laptop, I was somewhat satisfied (before being able to spend sufficient time with it) so I suggested that my daughter get one during the sale also. She did. So I compared mine to hers to see if mine had a defective display. They are almost identical in poor quality. She isn't as bothered by the problems as I am so she's a little more satisfied than I am. I have not reached out to Dell support yet due to I am not looking forward to jumping through the obligatory troubleshooting hoops that they will require, because I have already troubleshot the display (update Windows, update drivers, adjust display settings, factory reset the device) and don't want to do it all again. I am hoping Best Buy or Dell will reach out to me with a resolution that is less painful. I would gladly pay more at this point to get a better experience if I could return this one and choose a different Dell. Summary: Good specs for the money, seriously marred by a horrendous display.

I bought this for my daughter and she really liked it, she is at high school and she uses it for homework, it’s very fast for website response and the touch screen is really helpful (similar to cellphone function) she loves it !! It was a great purchase!, high quality graphics and fast processing information

This is certainly a great bargain for the price, and it works well. However, setup was a bit of a nightmare. Some of that is Windows' fault, but definitely some is Dell's fault as well. The only setup instruction included in the box is a small slip of paper that directs you to "dell.com/support/windows". I expected to find step-by-step setup instructions there, like a "wizard" that would guide me through it. But no, this is simply an area of the support pages where I can SEARCH for answers to my issues...but my issue was initial setup! That was no help, and Windows initially didn't work - that's its own horror story, I'll spare you here. Other gripe is that there is no external light to show battery status, you have to actually turn it on to find out whether the battery is charged or still charging. The cost cutting is a bit too deep there.

Dell laptop is up there with the rest. I don't know much about this product as I bought it for my daughter. She hasn't complained therefore it must be good. The price was reasonable & the quality is good. I would definitely buy it again if needed.

love this laptop. First Dell I have had and performs better than any of my more expensive laptops. And it was the least expensive laptop I have purchased. Have not had any issues. Mostly use it for surfing the web and emails, etc. No complaints.

Super fast, touch screen works well, G5 wifi connection makes internet faster that other computers (I think I got something like 300mb in the speed test). No so good: It feels cheap, the pad doesn't have the best location but it works great. Buy it!

I bought this laptop for my wife as she wanted a touchscreen laptop. I searched for an ssd with 8gb of memory and stumbled upon this one. The price and the performance are great and I have a happy wife. I would recommend this laptop, is very nice.

Glad we went with something that had more storage, but it gets eaten up fast!! Our son loves it for homework and Fortnite. Battery life is decent for what you pay, touch screen is nice. It's very light and easy to set up.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my daughter. It was well worth the price! It is touch screen which is a great feature. We have had no issues at all with this computer. Highly recommend it!!!

So I was in need for a laptop for work & came across this one on sale for black Friday so I jumped on it & im so happy I did. It’s fast & the touch screen is an added bonus! So happy with this purchase!

We purchased this computer for my wife so that she could work from home some. It was a good price for what we are going to use it for. The only thing that I would like to see better is the battery life.

Got this laptop for my daughter to do her school work and at the black Friday price I got it at I can't complain. Everything works and fast enough for everything she needs to do. Touch screen is a bonus.

got this for my daughter for Christmas. She has a chrome book but was looking for something to do a little more with. it has a touch screen connects well to the internet and is fairly fast.

This laptop was very easy to set up. Touch screen has quick response time. Feels very fast for 8gb ram. Also has AC wireless. Web pages load quickly. Happy with this purchase.

Bought this for my 12 year old for online school, it's no impressive in any way, but it does it's job for that purpose. The case feels more of a flimsy plastic, but I suppose that's to be expected at this price range. I thought he would like the touchscreen feature, but he actually keeps it disabled to increase battery life and performance. He's bummed that he isn't able to run steam games on it, but that wasn't the purpose for this purchase. In hindsight, I wish I went with a similarly priced computer that had better performance features without the touch screen.

Bought this on Black Friday and really like it. The touchscreen is very responsive but had to take it out of S mode since it would not let me install MS Office otherwise.

Took me a long time to want a laptop. But this purchase was a winner. I didn’t need much and this computer offers the easy to use that I need. I love the touch screen.

This laptop is very fast. My friend recommend it and I am very happy. The only problem is the storage capacity but I buy external drive and all is now good

Great Dell laptop. The Core i3 makes a difference compared to other entry level chips. The 8BG memory and the 128 SSD really helps speed the computer up. Other entry level computers typically have 4GB. The touch screen is a bonus, however I rarely use the feature. The Ethernet port is nice to have — I see many newer laptops getting rid of network ports in favor of being thin or space. Excellent value.

Bought this cause my laptops plug in spot suddenly broke and was too expensive to fix, I need touchscreen for various tasks and my budget was tight. The sale was fantastic right before Thanksgiving and I wanted to avoid the crowds. It was such an easy transition and was even thinner than my last laptop. Had to get used to the headphone jack being on the opposite side than it was on my older one, but that's really been the only "problem". The charger is even the same, which is really convenient, For the memory, hard drive, touch screen, and size of screen, it was an amazing deal and has worked wonderfully.
