Purchased this for my daughter's first year in college. It's been a fantastic computer for her. The touch screen works great. The mouse pad is sensitive and intuitive. It does everything she needs it to do and is as fast as she needs it. For a basic homework laptop its fantastic. It's light enough it doesn't kill her hauling it around. We love it.

Recommend for HS student. Powerful, and does the job

Functionality of the laptop exceeds the expectations. Worth for the amount spent on it. The look and feel is not very good. We can get some laptop skin and manage it. Except that the speed, sound clarity are pretty good

Bought it for my non techs mom. The computer is a little slow but for the price you can't ask for more. Good for basic stuff. Touch screen is great for her and the huge display lets her enlarge the text so she can see.

This laptop has everything I need for fast internet browsing and occasional work. Has a long lasting battery and light to carry around. Runs cool so doesn't overheat and shut down. The slight texture of the surface took a couple of uses to acclimate, but I don't worry about the finish rubbing off as with previous laptops. Overall, very pleased.

Nice laptop for the price. It is a great laptop for my son for college. I work in IT and I compared the processors and this one is pretty good. If you want to compare processors do a search using the word benchmark and the processor name in the yahoo search. A lot of the cheap laptop have very slow processors. This one is pretty good...

Love the touch screen and 4 digit password. Lightweight and easy to navigate. Bought this for my son for college and only trouble is working with word and attaching documents. Different format than last computer.

I’ve had this laptop for 4 years now and it’s still running in top shape. The 16GB ram allows me to multi-task with many different programs simultaneously and the 1TB hard drive allows me to store media and many files without slowing my computer down. Great purchase.

I recently purchased this laptop during the black Friday pre-sale. I initially was impressed with the unit but decided to return it. Don't get me wrong, it will get the job done and is a very good buy for the money but it is not easily upgrade-able. You have to remove the keyboard, a bunch of screws and delicate ribbon cables in order to remove the back cover for access to change out the RAM or hard drive. I also had trouble adjusting the color for the display and could not get rid of the cloudy, hazy look that it had no matter what I did. The build quality did seem decent but the LCD cover had a lot a flex to it and made it feel slightly like one of the really cheap laptops. I ended up with a more expensive unit that more appropriately met my needs but I would recommend this laptop to students or people who have minimal computing requirements. I feel that it is a very good value for the money when on sale.

very fast laptop with 8GB ram and super light and nice

Purchased this computer for my soon so he can do his homework on. So far it has been working good and having no problems. Set up was easy, just took a little longer than expected. Runs fine and a good deal.

I bought this for Christmas for my 11 yo last year, thinking he would be watching YouTube and playing low resolution games. It was more than adequate for that. Soon after he got the system, he was playing, screen recording, and Skyping all at the same time. This system will not perform well as a gaming pc

This is a great value laptop. I haven't had any issues with it being slow so far. I think I did a good purchase.

This Dell is touch screen with an I5 processor. During black Friday it wad priced around 350, which made it a great deal. After using for a few days, performance and quality seem better than expected.

Good laptop for general use, I did swap out the HDD for an SSD but nice to not have to mess with the RAM. Nice screen decent battery and touch screen to boot. At the sale price you can't go wrong

My friends have had good experience with Dell, so I bought this one. I've had it about a year, so far it's pretty good. I noticed it does get very hot and I'm concerned that in the long term it will burn out. The keyboard seems sticky and doesn't have a good feel to it. Otherwise, it seems ok.

This is a great laptop for a great price! I was so happy to find a touch screen Dell that I could afford, but the fact that it has a core i5 is amazing and a spill resistant keyboard?!?! Highly recommend this laptop. The only thing that's missing is a back-lit keyboard, but you can't have everything, right?

This machine is a good deal when it's not on sale, but when it went on sale for Black Friday is was a no brainer to get this for a friend of mine that was in desperate need of an upgrade. Very capable machine and a decent machine for anyone that is using their laptop for basic to moderate application usage.
