If could give no stars I would. Purchased this laptop at the Southpoint Durham location and had it shipped out to me due to it not being in stock. Great specs on paper and a good price. This was a bday gift to my daughter for her senior year in high school. After receiving on the 4/27/25 the very next day it gave the bsod. I thought maybe it needs to do updates. We did those and it did it again when she started her computer the next day. Saw that there was a needed bios update did that. Still the same thing. NOW it keeps freezing up once it eventually comes on and mouse will not move. Contacted Dell customer support and they ended the call saying they were getting disruption on the line and will call me back. Call back did not happen. Best Buy will not take the laptop back due to it being outside of the 14 day window. My only thing now is how do I get full refund for this computer so I can purchase a different brand? I have had several Dell computers over the years and never had any issues. Evidently their quality has gone down now. Its very unfortunate coming from a Dell user of 20 years.

The computer is amazing! I ordered 2 at the same time, only 1 showed up. Called FedEx, Best Buy, then my credit card company. FedEx only could tell me it was on a truck in over 100° heat at the time. I ordered this 7/19/24, still haven’t seen it. Best Buy didn’t care whatsoever about it. At least my credit card company helped me by getting my money back to me.

I’m really disappointed with the Dell Inspiron 7640 laptop. After just a few months of use, the right hinges broke while I was simply opening the lid. The quality of the materials seems to be poor, especially for a product from such a well-known brand. I expected much better durability for the price I paid. Honestly, I'm frustrated because the laptop's performance is fine, but this hinge issue is a major design flaw. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for something reliable. Need product support asap.

This review is more about Best buy customer service than about the laptop itself. I bought the open box-excellent condition laptop online. To my shock they sent me a laptop in best buy’s packaging, not original packaging. There were no accesories. The back of laptiop had the stickers removed and screches. This laptop at best would fit Open box-fair description. I called the customerservice and asked them to adjust the charge to reflect open box- fair price. The CS agent refused to do that. She instead said i can return the laptop at any store or if they have in stock for an exchange. I am going to return it. But it has been such a waste of time. When I said to the CS this is essentially a fradulent description on best buys part, she said that mistakes do happen and that is why she is giving me the option to return it at store! I feel this is toally unacceptable that I have to make trips to store for something that could have been easily fixed over phone!

Have only been using this laptop for about a month but I have no complaints. It's certainly overkill for my usage. Very fast and smooth and great for multitasking. The screen is extremely clear, it's not 4K but good luck telling the difference. The battery life is pretty good for normal use as long as the efficiency settings are on. The touchpad is very sensitive but I use an external mouse anyway so no big deal. It does get pretty warm with heavy use. However, it doesn't seem to affect performance so maybe it's normal for this model. Overall, seems very well made, including the keyboard. Worth the purchase.

Got this on sale - excellent value. Much better than similarly priced convertible laptops I've had from other manufacturers. Display is good, battery is excellent. The placement of the exhaust for the cooling fans is a little awkward, but otherwise an all-around great laptop.

Love this laptop. It's my first laptop/tablet combo and it's so convenient. It's fast too. The color is great (blue) and the screen is crystal clear. I highly recommend.

I am very pleased with this laptop. It is lightweight, the speed is terrific, and the screen has a sharp picture. I do miss having a larger screen and not having a number keypad.

I have been using this for 2D modeling software and it has been great for on the go. Excellent battery life as well.

I am typing this review on this exact laptop I am reviewing. I am very happy with this model and configuration. Love the touch screen, then 32gb of ram makes everything run fast. I love the big clear screen too.

Love it so far! Display Colors are bright and it’s really fast, the screen size is just right. More black than blue but that’s fine with me.

For me this computer was wayyy too hefty. It also started to overheat immediately . This was within few hours of opening the laptop for the first time. The fans were very loud. If these don’t bother you the Laptop is lighting fast.

Great laptop with excellent performance and design, this computer has great capabilities, easy to use and you will achieve whatever you want with it. Different ports (USB, USB-C, etc.) allow you to connect and do several things at the time. Its design and weight make it very versatile for use while traveling.

The Dell Inspiron 16" 2-in-1 is a top-tier laptop that excels in performance, versatility, and design. It's an excellent choice for professionals, creators, and anyone seeking a high-end computing experience. I am currently using it for my architecture work, which mostly uses Revit and i am very happy with the lighting speed, large super clear screen and sleekness of the model, which is super convenient during travel.

I got an open box excellent laptop. The spec is certainly attractive and with a very nice screen. Nevertheless, there is a major design flaw. The cooling is inadequate and the computer suffers from catastrophic failure (8 white 1 amber). It is very likely heat related. I don’t understand why dell designs the cooler in such a pathetic way. The computer is quite heavy but somehow the cooling is so bad. The heat probably causes permanent damage. When I went on the dell service website, someone had already opened a service request for this laptop. The previous owner probably returned it just because of that. Somehow Bestbuy just treated this as an excellent condition laptop and resold it to me. This is totally unacceptable since the previous user must have told them about it. It is even more ridiculous when the laptop was claimed to be inspected by Bestbuy. Either very shady practice or very incompetent technicians. Wasted a whole week waiting for the laptop and another whole week trying to get it to work. Now I am going to return it and let Bestbuy know the computer is defective. They will probably just put it up for sale again, hoping to offload this to another innocent customer.
