    I needed something to handle Photoshop on a daily basis, and this laptop does the trick... The extra RAM, fast processor, bigger hard drive, larger screen, and dedicated graphics really make a difference.

    I gave my wife this notebook last Christmas. Due to extended medical treatments at Mayo Clinic I took it with us whenever both of us were in Rochester, MN. this is the best "feel" of any of the previous notebooks I have had the pleasure of using. I almost went out an bought another identical unit for myself. It is a great unit with lightening fast responses.

    Bought this as a gift for someone who uses it primarily for Facebook and web browsing. Definitely overkill. This would be good for most games. Not super high end on the video card but the other stats are fairly impressive. Great buy for money.

    I was hoping and expecting better performance but it's just not the case with this laptop. Very slow to boot and lags when running some programs. I've had to do a complete system restore within the first 6 months. BSOD. Expect to wait several minutes to boot, then add a few more minutes to get it moving. My old Win7 with 6gb ram was WAY FASTER than this thing. One USB port is coming loose and connectivity is 75% with it after about 1 year.

    I really do like my new Dell Inspiron 17" 5700 8th Gen i7, but ... The battery life is terrible ... !!! I expected to get at least 4-6 hours with heavy use, but only get 1-2 hours with very light use ... !!! I am very, no EXTREMELY disappointed !!! Nice laptop, with great features. I am even upgrading to 32GB of RAM, and might even add a 512GB SSD ... For home use only, always connected to the AC wall outlet, great laptop. But away from home, no good at all. I will be searching for another laptop that gets excellent battery life to use away from home .... I was really hoping to use this laptop for my 30-day camping trip along the Pacific Coast, but poor battery life will present a serious issue.

    I'm very sorry I bought this. It's a very slow laptop. Slow to boot up. Slow log-on. Office programs constantly hang. Slow to shut down.

      We're very sorry to hear that your computer is running slow for you. We'd recommend that you run the Windows Performance Troubleshooter to see if there are ways to speed up your computer:

      1. Close all open windows.
      2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
      3. Click Control Panel.
      4. Click System and Security.
      5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems.
      6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.
      7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process.
      8. Restart the PC.

      We'd also recommend limiting the number of programs that launch at startup by following these steps:

      1. Close all open windows.
      2. Press CTRL + Shift + ESC key together on the keyboard.
      3. In the Task Manager window, click Startup tab.
      4. Select the program or application that you want to disable from loading during startup.
      5. Right-click and select Disable.
      6. Repeat Step 4 & 5 for all the programs or applications that you want to disable from loading during startup.
      7. Restart your PC.
