I am very pleased with the Dell Laptop. It was easy to set up. The color is wonderful. It is fast. I have had it a month and so far no problems or issues and I do not expect any. I can't speak to the sound as I have not used that feature yet.

I like Dell in general as I have had good experiences in the past, and the screen size, but the keyboard buttons are too small and for a 17", the 10-key buttons aren't even full size. While the SSD is nice, it's unfortunate that they made it the default drive so everything is running off of that, including a lot of the administrative stuff, so too much of the space made on an already small drive is already set aside and not useable. Just don't plan being able to use any programs that are memory intensive and default to the C drive only. There is 3 USB ports (which is nice but could be better) and I love the disc drive still included. I'm more old school, so I still use it frequently. I'm still new to it and I'm sure it will get better with further use, but as of now, I can't help but feel I should have kept looking for a different computer.

All in all this a great great laptop. It’s big and a little heavier than most but can’t complain. I’m not sure if it’s just me but I do notice battery doesn’t last that long, and I even put it on best battery performance mode to make sure I get the most out of it. What’s the average lasting time for the battery in this laptop ? I couldn’t find any info here.

I previously had a 2TB HDD laptop with a poor quality display and all but one failing USB ports, as well as the plug constantly falling out, and now the hinge between the bottom and the display is coming apart. (also the web cam didn’t work). For this reason, I knew I need a laptop with at least 2TB, but hopefully more since I only had 333GB of space left. I liked the fact that I could put my programs on the smaller SSD drive (the C drive) so they would run faster, but keep the HDD drive for data (the D drive.) There were two problems, though, that happened when I did this. First of all, the laptop comes with the libraries on the smaller C drive, so you aren't really keeping your data on the D drive unless you figure out a work around. Obviously, I needed to figure out a way to keep my documents, photos, and videos on the larger drive. I could manually move them, but I knew I wanted something automatic. I searched the Internet for a solution and found it. Now all of my libraries are on my D drive and my programs are on my faster C drive. However, this created another problem that I hadn't anticipated. I like to save files that I’m working on, on my desktop until I’m ready to store them away. The desktop is on the C drive and I like to keep my work in progress on my desktop. However, when I move them to my libraries, I can’t just drag them over. Dragging them just creates a copy since it is a different drive, so I have to cut and paste (instead of copy and paste) or I have to remember to go back and delete the file on my C drive. This is easy, but it’s still an extra step if your method of moving files is to open both folders and drag the file from one to another. That’s a minor complaint though. The same issue occurs with the Downloads folder. It’s on the C drive, so you need to remember to cut and paste instead of copy and paste if you are downloading anything and want to move it to one of your libraries. Another minor complaint is that there is no light on the Num Lock key and I keep pressing it by accident because it seems like it is always off when I want to use it. Since the side number key pad doesn’t have any other functions on the keys, I really don’t even see why you would ever turn it off. They function ONLY as number keys, so there would never be a reason to turn them off, but I’m always have to test them to see if they are on or off. Pros: I like having the Type C port since I do have some peripheral hardware with Type C ports that I had to use adapters for (like my backup drive, for example.) This eliminates having to use an adapter and frees up the USB port that it would normally have to be plugged into. I’m very glad to have the DVD/CD drive. While searching for a laptop that I wanted, several no longer offered the DVD/CD drive, so I can see where the future of having this type of drive is on its way out. I guess I will need to transfer my older programs that I still use to jump drives or buy an external DVD drive someday, but for now, I’m happy I have it on this laptop. The quality of the display is much better than my older laptop, and I do a lot of photography, so this is a very important issue for me. Intel Core i7 10th generation – I like this processor and have been very happy with the performance. Cons: Besides the ones mentioned above, there is also the problem of being able to read the text on the display. Everything looks so much smaller. I tried changing both the text size and the “enlarge everything” size and it’s better but still not quite there yet. If I move it up another notch, it looks strange. I’m getting used to it though. Summary: The libraries not being on the D drive would have been a deal breaker for me, so getting that fixed was very important. The other complaints are very minor and the things I like about the laptop far outweigh those things, so I gave it 5 stars. I don't think the cons are worth bringing down the rating a full star. I would give it at least 4.5.

Overall it's good; however, it automatically puts all of the program files on the smaller SSD drive, and if you try to switch them to the larger hard drive, you can't; however, to save space on the smaller SSD drive, I transferred all of the other files (pictures, downloads, music, etc...) to the larger drive. Just a pain, since everything automatically writes to the smaller drive.

It's simple to setup. I haven't pushed it hard...mostly office and administrative tasks, some web browsing. It takes a bit to get going, but when it's ready, it gets the job done. I appreciate the ports and dvd drive. It will be a good all-purpose laptop for the next few years, I hope.

Good overall, speed is also good for the specs. Liked the matte screen finish which gives less glare, but the screen had quite noticeable screen bleeding on the bottom and since I work on dark mode a lot, it was not a deal for me, so returned.
