Works great for a Windows laptop

I bought this laptop because I wanted the closest thing I could get to a Macbook air for under $1200. I am bilingual in Mac and Windows and don't have any major preference when it comes to getting the job done. The 4K screen with the i7 and 16GB RAM were the features that attracted me to this model. I hadn't used a Windows tablet, so I didn't know what to expect from the touch screen and stylus. The laptop works as well as can be expected. I have even used it for editing fairly complex projects with Adobe Premiere. My only complaint is that touchscreen is an afterthought with Windows. Windows 10 is not iOS or Android. It's clunky. The 4K screen is beautiful, but Windows 10 and many Windows programs don't scale fonts for the higher resolution. In other words, the problems I've had are all complaints about Windows. If the high resolution or touchscreen productivity is important, spend the money on an iPad or a Macbook. The touchscreen is nice to have, but most software developers haven't been written for touch and it gets very clunky. This machine definitely doesn't work as a tablet replacement.

I bought it from BestBuy when it was on sale for 900+ and also external CD drive. The battery died quickly. Ran the Dell updates including driver, BIOS updates and today I was able to watch one full movie (3hrs)and the laptop ran from 9am to 2pm. That is good for me. I love the 2in1 feature. So far I am liking everything about it. It came with a pen similar or same (I am not sure)to Surface pen. Bought an app 'Pen book' from MS app store. Wifi is good. Its a little heavier to its size but not heavy. I bought the black laptop. Like the size. I will be using this more than my iPad pro as the retina display is hurting my eyes. Not yet tested SD card. Keyboard is convenient, easy to type. I usually don't use laptop keyboard but this is good to type. For 1000 bucks this is a good deal to me. Camera is nice too. I specially like the fingerprint login feature. Voice recoginition is good. I tested it on notepad by dictating few lines. Except the weight being a little heavier I like all about it.

Overall it is a Dell. The screen is clear and crisp and the thing is fast, blazing fast. I really liked the fingerprint sensor in the power button and it works well unless you have anything, I mean anything at all, on your finger. The battery life is great as long as you stay in power saving mode about 6-7 hours continual run time for office based tasks, but take that off and it goes dead in about 45 minutes. At full throttle the thing gets hot and the fans kick in quickly but stay pretty quiet. Overall a good buy for something with this much power. On a note: I had to play with the charging settings in the BIOS right out of the box because it continually said the battery was low. It would not charge up because it was trying to do smart charging, which I think is a bit of a useless feature because it was not charging the battery all the way.

I purchased this laptop to replace my old surface pro 4. I wanted 4k display and i7 processor and more ram(16GB). The surface pro 6 fully loaded cost over $2k and no 4k display. It's a little heavier weighing around 1.7 lbs. vs. Pro 6 less than a lbs. But I'm ok with that. Only reason I gave this review 4 star is because I had to return the first laptop because the display didn't work. Customer service quickly replaced the laptop and it works just fine for now. No problems so far. I'll report back if anything goes wrong.

So far, I love this capable little machine. I am using it to replace an older desktop that was struggling to keep up with the demands of a video editing business. This one is much faster, but I do wish it had a dedicated video card. That is the only fault that I've found with it. I use a USB 3 expanded strip to handle the DVD writer, flash drive (for more storage and file transfer). The wireless works well, paired with no problem with my Epson All in One printer. If you want a capable machine at a reasonable price, I think this one is worth consideration.

I decided to go back to college online and needed a new computer to do so. I did some homework and went to Best Buy. This was the most comfortable place, had the largest assortment, and many were on sale. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I expressed my needs and my budget and was walked through multiple laptop computers. I made my decision with ease. The computer itself is just what I needed and I love it. I’ve only had it for a few weeks that is why I gave it a 4. Plus I haven’t had a personal computer in years, only a work laptop.

I came from a 17" inspiron that lasted for 5 years. It was fabulous. It died (because of a virus) so I replaced it with this pc a few weeks ago. The size takes some getting used to but it has a great brain and does what I need it to do. I do mostly spreadsheets and a lot of data files. I wish it had a number pad on the keyboard but best buy did not have a system w/ the larger screen & keyboard size in stock with this power and I was pretty desperate at the time. I pray this too will last me five plus years!

This laptop is capable of soooo much! I loved watching videos in 4K and loading them almost instantly! Way better than my 6 year old Lenovo. However, I found the fans did get loud at some points, but not over the top since it is an ultra book. The downfall was with the battery. I was getting about 2-3 hours off a charge. Had to exchange for a different laptop because of that. But definitely set an expectation for what I wanted in a laptop! 2-1, backlit keyboard, windows pen, 16gb ram, touch screen, precision track pad.

This computer is super light which makes it perfect for traveling. The HD screen is exceptional and perfect for editing. The battery is okay obviously when you edit or run larger programs it will take from the battery life. The keyboard is also easy to type on and is comfortable to use. Fingerprint scanner as well is responsive. Only downside is that i had to turn off some settings in the bios that were causing the cpu to overclock constantly.

Great by! I needed something for on the go editing. I have not had an issue so far. The only thing I can tell is the battery life is not that good. If the laptop is in sleep mode in my bag all day. The battery will be dead by the end of the day. Other then that its a solid laptop for editing pics and videos. Will be trying the pen in photoshop soon!

I used to use my desktop once or twice a month for web browsing mainly, but this laptop is so convenient as a 2 in 1 that I use it 4-5 times a week over my smartphone. The only thing I dislike is the heat it puts off. Battery seems good, processor speed is awesome, and the SSD space is perfect because I use an external SSD and hard drive for storage anyways.

I purchased this- thinking I would 'spend a bit' to get something nicer than I would normally get... most of the features were really nice- but the response from the keys/touchscreen was too 'unpredictable' to satisfy me. I wanted to like this laptop- but needs some work on the key/touch response... all other features are great! (exchanged for a Microsoft Surface 2)

Love this laptop the only thing is the battery life does not last too long so make sure you have your charger with you if you plan on taking it to work or to a coffee shop. The price is amazing and if you’re not looking for clout And get a MacBook this does the same thing and more.

As stated battery life isn't stellar. Not a huge concern for my lifestyle but something you should consider. My fingerprint sensor doesn't work 9 times out of 10. Not a deal breaker but it'd be nice if it worked as advertised. Everything else is excellent!

Very light weight laptop with good configuration. Got it for a nice deal. Super fast due to i7 processor and SSD harddrive. Only issue is sometimes it gets hot and the fan spins really fast and it becomes noisy.

I was expecting a much better performance and more storage space for the price. I retuned it for the Lenovo - Yoga 920 which I got on sale and did not pay much more than this Dell. Had the Dell came with 512 SSD I would have kept it.

This is replacing my 10-year-old Toshiba, so they're not even comparable. I'm really enjoying my laptop not dying immediately when it's unplugged and being supported by any OS, as my old one wasn't anymore.

I am enjoying my new 2 in 1 laptop. Not too heavy, easily portable, nice picture. My only complaint is that it seems to use up the battery pretty quickly. I keep my plug and cord near at hand.
