I purchased this laptop a couple of weeks back. The OS and speed of the system is pretty good. Windows runs faster on this machine compared to other machines within the same price range. I've been running multiple and heavy applications for my research work. I felt no issues with the software. Recently the touchpad started protruding from its slot. I believe its the poor quality adhesive or a specific flaw in my system. I don't know if its a common flaw or a specific flaw in my system.
Highlights:
1. Its pretty thin and sleek for a 2-in-1 within the price range
2. The sound quality is good but varies with the other applications you use
3. Decent battery life (around 4-7 hrs depending on usage)
4. The fan initially made much noise but after the BIOS update, its pretty calm.
5. The touch is pretty responsive and sensitive. If you are a fan of touchscreen you will love it for apps like Facebook, Youtube etc.,
6. Packed with the latest processor, the system is pretty fast. I'm yet to test it for games.
7. Easy to carry around
8. Very good for classroom use as you can use the tablet mode during classes, take notes, mark slides etc.,
9. Very helpful in reading ebooks
But above all, the touchpad started moving out of its slot and protruded from its slot within 20 days of purchase. I cannot return the product to Bestbuy as they have 15 days return period. Now I have to get it repaired at some dell store. This is pretty frustrating within a month of purchase of a product.
I might give better rating once the defect is rectified.

I bought this 2 in 1 laptop for my wife to use in her travel business. We considered apple but much of the travel programs will only work with windows. The i7 is quick and is working well. I am not particularly in love with windows 10. I had to learn it while setting it up and moving all of her documents. The online tech support did a great job helping me. They were patient and knew what they were doing unlike some other tech support groups I have dealt with recently. I would give it a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the windows 10

This computer is fast and effective. I use it for Adobe CS programs in addition to the everyday basics, It's plenty fast for big graphics files. It's slim and efficient and well-priced. My only gripe is the display is less than I had hoped for. To my eye, the images seem a bit dull. I spent some time adjusting it and I got it to a decent place. I care about the graphics and this is sufficient, but I'm going to dock it one star. You might not notice and you might not care. Other than that, this laptop is perfect. Just go look at it first in person and see what you think.

This is one of the best computers I've ever used. Very fast, very light weight (3.5lbs), touch screen works great and battery life is very good.. Only issue I have is with the touch pad... the area where the left and right click section is located also allows the mouse pointer to be moved if you happen to slide your finger slightly. Some have complained about the location of the on/off button (on the side) but I have no problem with that as it's very much like most tablets I've used.

I purposely waited to review this laptop until after I had a chance to really use it.
Several reviewers have commented on how they had to perform system updates right out of the box. Well, so did I, but I expected this. It’s really just a fact of life. Software updates come fast and often and it’s not unusual to have several that need to be installed on a new machine. Mine took about 40 minutes, but I don’t consider that unreasonable.
The laptop is great. The case is solid, and I like the look and feel of the silver. The double hinge is well built and feels very secure without any slop. The keyboard backlight is bright enough to type in the dark (yes, I’m not really a touch-typist) without being annoying. The touchpad is a bit tricky, and sometimes you need to lift your finger to restart the mouse movement, but overall it is responsive and accurate. The only drawback for me was getting use to “tapping” anywhere on the pad and not having segregated “push buttons”
I’m very happy with the screen. Bright, colors are vivid and vibrant, and for the occasional video I watch it is just great. It is a tad small for editing pictures, but I just attach an external monitor for that.
Fan noise: What fan noise? I’ve heard it a couple times, but nothing like what I had on my 17” or on my 15” work laptop. Everyone is different, I get it. For me, not a problem.
Speed is great, boot-up time is unbelievable, and the SSD is the right size for operating system and software as well as some files and pictures. Granted, I made a conscious decision to go from a 2TB HDD to a 256 SSD, but my external HDD takes care of storing the thousands of pictures I have taken.
The last thing is the tablet mode. Love it . . . kinda. Not a big fan of the loss of some functions when in tablet mode, so I’ve kept the idiot screen turned on and most often do not switch modes. Enabling the on-screen keyboard makes it slick and useable.
So, while I’m not a total power user, I believe that what I do use my laptop for puts it to the test: edit photographs, MS Office, occasional video, lots of email with large files attached. For me it was a good choice and getting it on sale made it all the much better!

I downsized from a Dell XPS 15 to a 13" Inspiron with a SSD, and so far am loving it. I still have issues with the placement of the trackpad. For some reason, the heel of my left hand constantly hits the upper corner of the track pad when I'm typing, and it throws me off. It's frustrating at times, but honestly, i don't know if there is a "perfect" machine out there. And since this is my only complaint with the machine, I can easily overlook it. On to the important things, like the fact that I don't have any trouble carting this laptop around. It's so light that I'm almost afraid of it flying out of my hands. Such an improvement over the super heavy XPS 15, and I don't miss the larger screen. graphics and touchscreen are good, though i don't use the touchscreen much. The SSD definitely boots up faster than my old hard drive, and I don't have any problems with disk space, even though I've loaded up several specialty pieces of software. Love it - quick and lightweight!

This is a fast, easy to use machine. The SSD is quick as it should be when starting up. Never a fan of Windows 10, this touch screen makes it enjoyable. It is light weight, feels solid and has a great display. The USB-C is not a functional as I had hoped but it is the wave of the future.

This is a great laptop, and I am highly satisfied after using it for 6 months. I wanted a small laptop for travel, but also wanted one that had a good reliability record, since the small laptops tend to have reliability issues. This laptop is definitely heavier than some of the available products, but I chose it for Dell's customer service record. It has also been very fast and very satisfying.

We love this laptop. I've purchased quite a few laptops over the past few years and this is my favorite by far. We got a great price on this laptop which features a very fast processor and lots of RAM. The touchscreen is highly responsive and the shell of the laptop of really solid. All of my other laptops are plastic on the outside and while it makes for a lighter laptop, they just can't handle much punishment. This Dell laptop is made of metal and is super durable and doesn't flex when typing on your lap; it's a bit heavier but worth it.

This laptop did not disappoint. I've been using it for work for 2 weeks and have not had any issues. No fan noise, super fast speeds. I haven't used it much for the 2 in 1 aspect but it seems to respond very well.

This Dell is fast overall.... love the processing speed and love that it takes hours before I have to recharge.. love the size and features... it has a great sound.... the only thing wrong that I dislike is when it doesn't recognize my password to log in... I have to input it about 20x before it finally accepts the same password other than that I would recommend this computer to anyone I know just as long as they fix that problem.

I got this laptop to take with me to campus. I got it on sale and it was a great buy. It's not the lightest laptop but it's definitely portable and not flimsy.
Pros:
-very portable
-quick startup
-the screen has great resolution and the image is very crisp
-looks good
-keyboard isn't super loud and all keys are responsive
-doesn't take long to charge to 100%
-it's fast
-price
Cons
-doesn't have the best battery life
-is not the lightest laptop
-requires a ton (I mean really, a ton) of dell firmware and other dell updates, regularly. I had to do three updates today and I've had the laptop for a while now. Expect lots of updates if you own the computer.
Overall this is a great laptop for what I use it for (matlab, excel, word, etc.). But the computer is not an "ultra book" as it does not lack the standard laptop features (it isn't super duper thin). It isn't meant to be one. Most ultrabooks are very expensive, making them less available for people like me (college students). It is not designed to be an ultra book. It was meant to be a practical, affordable machine for the everyday things we use our computers for. Don't expect it to be a gaming/ultrabook laptop, it was not marketed as either of these because it isn't one. Just mentioning this because reading through other reviews many people complain about the fact it can't handle X, Y, or Z. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. It was a good investment.

Purchased in May of 2017, have been using siince without any episodes or issues. Seems to be fast with programs that are opened and multiple windows open. Like the idea of a solid state hard drive. For the amount of $ that I spent, it should have come with at least a year of Webroot security instead of the 6 month term. Folks @ Best Buy recommend webroot over top of Norton and McAfee. Hope it lasts for many years!! Should have also included Microsoft office lifetime software and it did NOT. Had to buy that separately for an additional fee. That was not cheap either.

Dell has never disappointed me. I have had a full PC at home for many, many years. And now I have a beautiful, reliable, laptop that converts to a tablet and is light enough to take anywhere. The price for this was very reasonable and I love that it has PORTS!!! USB 2, USB 3, and HDMI. It is Bluetooth compatible and has a Solid State Drive. I highly recommend this laptop: Dell - Inspiron 2-in-1 13.3" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 12GB Memory - 256GB Solid State Drive

This is my first venture into Dell land and so far I am not disappointed.
The computer is a very good mid-level model and light enough to carry around. Very fast and plenty of memory for my needs. The back-lit keyboard is very helpful...a small, but appreciated feature. The sale price made it a no brainer! Hopefully it will last longer than my Lenovo!
