Solid Laptop

Another solid offering from Dell. This year's model added a second USB-C port, which is essential so you can charge and utilize a USB-C port at the same time. Dell chose to keep one USB-A port (2 on last year's model), which I like because I still use USB-A devices for work. The other upgrade from last year's model is a glass like layer on the palm rest and mouse pad. This is a very nice touch, as it resembles a glass topped office table.
This model comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor and AMD Radeon Graphics. Everything so far is smooth as silk with this hardware. No issues loading any applications so far, and have run a virus scan and watched video at the same time without any lag. The display is FHD, and it works great streaming video. Sound is solid, but I hardly listen to music from laptop speakers. I use the laptop mainly for work, and it smoothly runs all my applications through a virtual desktop. The 2 in 1 capability is nice, but something I don't really use, as Windows in tablet mode is not my favorite. The webcam shutter is a nice feature as well, just so I can be sure nobody is watching me without my knowledge. Also has a fingerprint scanner, which is great for quickly unlocking and for making online purchases. The keyboard feels nice and soft to the touch, and the white on grey contrast makes the keys easy to see in any lighting (they are also backlit when it's really dark).
This laptop feels really solid; unfortunately, that means it's on the heavy side. Not a huge deal, but it definitely caught my by surprise when I first picked it up. The only other con I can think of is the display glare. It can be really difficult to see if I'm outside on a nice day, even under the shade.
Overall, highly satisfied with the performance of this laptop.

Unbeatable for the price, both specwise and buildw

For the price, it's unbeatable! The build quality of inspirons are great! They're sturdy, more motal than plastic on the casing, quality hinges (especially because this is a 2-in-1) The Ryzen 5 benchmarks higher than the I5, and it comes with a 512gb SSD, whereas most other products at this price come wish 256gb. The ventilation system is great too, the intake is spread out and desecrate, and the exhaust is under the screen when in laptop mode, but also away from the screen when in tablet mode. The backlit keyboard has varying brightness, and it automatic (turns off when no input for 60s) the screen quality is nice. It's glossy, like a tablet, and produces great color and the sound system is pretty decent through headphones, but the speakers are SURPRISINGLY loud. The battery life from what I tested is very good in win11 conservation mode, but I'm not crazy about win11 itself. The resolution is one of the best for the price point as well, it's 1920*1200 on a 14" (average is 1920*1080) the extra resolution does cause a little more strain on the integrated graphics when playing light games, but you can also scale games resolutions down to 1920*1080 to combat this. The webcam quality is average, but I do like how it has a built in plastic switch to block/unblock the webcam, the microphone quality is also average, but it does a pretty good job of filtering background noise. The fingerprint scanner/power button is sturdy and also very accurate, I have yet to have it misread my fingerprint. It has 2 USB c ports and 1 USB a port. One of the USB c ports has to be used to charge the laptop, so there's basically only two open ports, and that's about the only downside.
I would highly recommend buying a type c dock which can turn 1 type c port into 3 type As and an HDMI port.
Overall I think that this is an incredible sale price at $499.99 and everything is impressive, both specs wise and build quality. It's also worth mentioning Dell gives you a dedicated 10ft usb c charger with powerbrick, most others (like Samsung) only give you a 45w mobile brick with a 6ft cord. Dell seems to not be cutting any corners, and delivering a great laptop for their 2022 Inspiron models.

I really like this computer! It's super fast and easy to use, I would say my favorite feature is the touch screen and the flip of the screen as well. I also really like that its super light and skinny. I would say that this is the perfect college computer and I have even told all of my friends to buy it!

Nearly perfect - OEM network card was bad
This laptop was nearly perfect - great performance and screen and battery life. The ONLY issue was bad network performance - slow network, dropped packets, buggy network adapter where it wouldn't be detected. It was due to problems with the OEM network card. Bought an upgraded network card from Amazon for $15 and replaced it with an upgraded version, and now this is the best laptop I have ever owned.
For those who can disassemble the laptop and replace the network card - this laptop is all around perfect. I develop software on this laptop and run demanding workloads and it meets all my software development needs.

Purchase this for myself around last Christmas and it is still my current computer. It is fast. It has plenty of memory space and it has the fast processor chip. It is an excellent choice. If you’re looking for something that has all in one it can fold like a notebook Tablet or laptop you can also purchase a pencil and use the drawing tools that come with it. It has many useful tools for homework. It is also touchscreen which is a must for me or you can use the mouse pad. That’s very large. I may keep this computer for another year or two before I decide to upgrade because it is still working just as good as new.

Great laptop, just install the WiFi drivers

Great little computer for splicing 3d files and blender. I bought an excellent open box model. Turned it on and it wouldn't detect any WiFi signals. The drivers were never installed from the factory. Quick download using old laptop and it's working perfect. I'm assuming why that's why the store had 3 excellent condition open box "returns". I won't complain cause I got it for less than half the price of new. Excellent upgrade from my old massive heavy Asus

Excellent build quality, a 2-in-1 convertible, the display hinge is very good, not too wobbly when using it as a touch screen like many others. The display is high resolution and colorful, the only downside is the high reflectivity, but you can buy a matte screen protector for that. All AMD, go team RED! Updates on wifi were quick and painless. The keyboard was pretty good, a touch more travel would've been perfect. Audio is good, not great. Overall, very happy with this laptop, the green is unique and not overdone, battery life around 6 hours with brightness at half. Should satisfy most people's office and school tasks.

This laptop is the best one for a college student, it is easy to use and very lightweight. The back lighting for the keyboard is very helpful when typing up papers at night, the reversible use is also great for when I just want to relax and watch a movie.

I purchased an open box Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 14” that was listed as in excellent condition. I chose this model after watching some reviews showing it was a decent mid-range and how easy it would be to upgrade both the RAM and the SSD. I chose the open box version because it was listed at about half the price of a new model and was in “Excellent Condition”.
Be warned. Check everything before you leave the store. “Includes all original parts/accessories” isn’t taken seriously by all Best Buy employees. The charger for this device was missing from the box. After addressing this for over 40 minutes with 4 different employees I was finally on my way with the 2-in-1 and a charger.
First impressions:
Color: I full light situations the Pebble Green color looks more dull bronze. I have looked at it in full sunlight, LEDs, and fluorescent lighting and do not see a hint of green. The hint of green only seems to be visible in less well lit areas. Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice color though and the Dell logo is hardly visible. I was just expecting more green.
Size & weight: This 2-in-1 is a chunky device. It is not something I would want to hold for long periods of time in the tablet mode, but would not be bad on a desk or table while writing on the screen.
Body: The lower portion of the body has squared edges that are difficult to describe. They feel both sharp and smooth at the same time. I actually like this. It feels good as a place to hold onto the device.
The left side of the base has a full size HDMI and two USB C ports, one of which you will need for charging. There is also a indicator light to show when charging is taking place. On the right side there are micro SD slot, USB A, and a headphone jack. A decent selection for this device.
There are nice rubber strips on the bottom so, once set in place, the laptop does not slide or shift.
There are vents on the bottom and the back hinge portion for heat dissipation and sound. One of the hinge grills on my model was pushed in slightly but it seems to function.
The speakers are loud, but they distort at anything over 34%. I do not know if this is normal or if it is part of the “Excellent Condition” of my device.
The keyboard has nice travel and is not loud when I type on it. It is backlit with three settings; off, low, and fully lit. There is a fingerprint sensor on the top far right of the keyboard and it is quick. A very nice security feature to have on this device. The “precision mylar-touchpad is the poorest part of the keyboard. Sometimes takes multiple clicks to have it function and the next moment sliding my finger over it causes it to click. I would rate it slightly better than a Gateway trackpad.
Body: The top portion of this 2-in-1 cannot be opened with one hand. Trying to do so will lift the bottom off a surface and tilt the device backwards. The hinges work relatively well until the screen is about 3” from the keyboard. Once the top is that close to the base it simply closes.
The screen has small bezels on the right and left sides but the upper and lower ones seem large. The resolution is HDR and the colors look vibrant. It is very responsive to touch and scrolls smoothly.
The screen does fold nicely around the back so I can use it to take notes. The device is too heavy to use over a length of time though. On a table or desk this would not be an issue. It is nice that pen input is included although you will need to use either the Dell pen or a Wacom pen with AES technology (both purchased separately). One slightly annoying thing is the tiny cursor that lags behind the Wacom Bamboo pen I am using. My eye keeps focussing on it instead of the pen tip.
This would be a nice 2-in-1 for a student (high school or college) although I would recommend an external mouse. The top and bottom feel like plastic, but the sides feel like metal. The full HDMI port allows it to convert to a desktop setup with the addition of a keyboard and mouse. The Ryzen 5 seems to handle most tasks that I throw at it

I got this laptop because I needed something light and portable to take with me to campus for my graduate classes. I went with the AMD processor because it was cheaper, and I have had no performance issues with doing my readings, researching with lots of tabs open, or writing essays. I don’t use the tablet mode often, but it works great when I do. The color is really cool, a green-gray case with a gray keyboard. Overall, after using it for a semester, I’m really happy with this laptop.

I bought this laptop on a whim when my old one crashed. I needed it for work so I got lucky that Best Buy was having a sale on the day I needed a new laptop. Bought this because of the size. Was very pleasantly surprised when I received it that it’s actually convertible to a tablet and that it’s also a touch screen. I didn’t really read much of the info about it when I purchased it online. Very Happy with my purchase and I’m glad I did! Got a great deal on this laptop :)

Purchased this laptop 11/22 after my previous one died after 6 years. Got it on sale for $549, which I thought was a great deal for the features this laptop provides. After initial setup to ensure it was working properly, I upgraded the RAM with an additional 8 GB stick (PNY brand purchased at Best Buy) for a total of 16 GB. Was happy to see that the laptop ran the memory at 3200 MHz after the upgrade. It runs everything I’ve wanted without any issue. I primarily use this for office tasks, Zoom/Microsoft Teams, and light photo/video editing. I haven’t had any problems streaming multiple items (live sports, You Tube, etc) simultaneously. I haven’t played any games on this, as I have a dedicated gaming desktop for that. There are numerous You Tube videos available showing this or similar machines playing games, so check those out if you’re desiring to game on this. The touchscreen is responsive, and I like the resolution of the screen. Video and live sports look great!
I find the keyboard to work well. The trackpad does stick occasionally, but overall not a major issue for me. I do agree with previous comments regarding placement of the USB-C ports and the charging cable , but overall I’m quite happy with how the laptop functions and would recommend it for someone who wants a quality product as long as they aren’t expecting to run the latest/greatest games on this device.

Bought this for my son as a Christmas gift to upgrade/downgrade the laptop he was previously using. Since this was for him to take to school, he needed something smaller and lighter than the gaming laptop he's had. After searching through countless devices, this one proved to be the best cost to specs. It has so far work well and fits nicely in his book bag.

Pretty nice if you get it at the sale price idk if I'd pay $800, overall it seems to perform as expected, should be able to do light gaming at low settings, I'm using it to learn coding and it's been working nicely
Biggest plus is it's upgradable ram and SSD
