The device feels super premium, as good as any dell laptop. ChromeOS with an i3 processor just flies. The screen is nice and very bright (brighter than my xps 13). Works perfectly with the Dell WD15 USB C dock connected to two 1080p monitors. Keyboard feels great to type on. The touch pad is a little "sticky" on my slightly moist fingers. Compare that to the xps 13's trackpad which is super smooth 100% of the time. The pen works great although I'm not an artist. I couldn't see any delay when drawing or writing in the Google Keep app. My only other complaint besides the trackpad is the weight. It feels heavy at 4lbs, although that isnt an outrageous weight for a 14" laptop.

The chromebook is fast with a great display. It is so satisfying to use, that I've voluntarily abandoned my windows laptop. A quality build and incredible battery life. My only gripe is that the chromebook is a bit on the heavy side, but the weight probably contributes to it's quality feel.

If you are in the market for a new laptop and don't want to spend alot on a windows PC. This is the deal for you. Even though it has 4 GB of ram it doesn't slow down at all. Super sharp screen and backlit keyboard are great as well.

This Chromebook has been great so far. The metal body is nice and rigid and the screen looks great. The only complaint is that the track pad could be better. It's a little loose feeling but evidently they all are. Wish it had 8 gigs of RAM too but it's fast RAM so it works.

I've two of these 2 in 1 type laptops/chromebooks. One from Dell and one from another brand with a larger screen. I love the screen size of this Dell, it's great for my hands without feeling too large to use as a touchscreen. I wish it weighed a little less as it's quite heavy for the size of the laptop. The screen is great and gets a ton of use for Netflix/Hulu type services and the picture is always very clear. The sound from the speakers is great and it easily connects with my Bluetooth headphones for listening in quiet situations. I was pleased with the amount of android apps that were able to download but then quickly realized that a lot of the apps aren't made to work with screens this size or with 2 in 1s in general and ended up deleting the majority of the apps I downloaded as they just don't work well enough to take up space. The google chrome software took a few days to get used to but it's pretty intuitive for someone who hasn't used it before. The touchscreen is great and very responsive and after playing around with some settings to get the trackpad to scroll how I wanted I find I use that just as much as the touchscreen. I love the addition of the backlit keyboard to this laptop as my other 2 in 1 does not have this feature and it really stands out. The quality of this laptop feels sturdy and also has a very sleek look I've come to expect out of some of the newer laptops. All in all I think this is a great basic laptop, I'm not a gamer though and not sure how it would hold up to that type of daily use.

Specs: 8th Gen i3- 8130u 2 core 4 thread processor 14-inch FHD thin bezel display 4gb of Ram 128gb of Storage Micro SD slot, x2 USB Type C port with charging capabilities on both ports and 1 USB A 3.0 full-size port. All around aluminum build that feels solid EMR Pen Backlit Keyboard Chrome OS The first impression out of the box is a good one. It's compact, feels solid and small footprint that makes it a very portable device. The touch display is pretty good it's bright, colorful and with minimal bezels. Speakers can get loud and clear too. Good display and speakers make it a good media consuming device. Dell also includes a pen that is located on the bottom panel with his own storage compartment. Writing notes or drawing with the pen is a good experience with minimal lag. WiFi and Bluetooth have been solid and fast. Performance is night and day compared to my old Chromebook with a low-end Intel Core Duo chip. With just having more than 6+ tabs open on Chrome browser with one of them playing YouTube music on the background it would start to slow down. The 8th gen i3 is a speedy processor that performs just as well as the previous 7th gen i5 U processor. The only bottleneck I can see would be the 4gb of ram. But for now, Chrome OS has done a good job when it comes to ram management. Another area that I noticed improvements is when playing demanding 3D games from the Google Play Store. My daughter likes to play Roblox on my Chromebook. On some of the levels, the GPU would struggle and gameplay would just slow down to a crawl. With the Intel UHD 620 GPU, it's been a smooth performer when it comes to gaming. Battery life is pretty good getting around 6-8 hours of mixed usage. For I/O ports you get 2 USB Type C ports that are used to charge the device. You also get a full-size USB 3.0 port along with a micro sd slot. The charging brick is very small and lightweight with an led light at the end of the cable to provide some light. The backlit keyboard is decent but I would of like a little bit more of deep travel and feedback. The trackpad area is a good size with a smooth surface. There is no individual buttons the trackpad itself is clickable. Overall the Dell 14 Chromebook 2 in 1 is a well built high-end device that can compete with other Chromebooks around this price range. You get a good display, processor, pen support and 128gb of storage. It's a solid pick up that won't leave you disappointed.

I bought this to replace a laptop that got very slow . The chrome book has been easy to use . I'm a senior citizen so I'm used to instruction books . Doesn't seem like anything comes with books anymore . It had been fairly easy to learn and it works very well . Screen pictures are very clear and vivid .

[[ Build and Exterior ]] Probably one of the first things you'll notice about this Chromebook is that it is somewhat thick. It definitely does not fall into the ultra-book category, but the aluminum exterior makes this unit feel very sturdy and durable. The Chromebook does seem oddly heavy, so I can't see myself using it in tablet mode (keyboard folded behind the screen) for long periods of time. On the outside of the unit are 2 USB Type-C port on either side of the laptop, a USB 3.0 port and headset jack on the left side and a Micro SD card slot on the right side. On the bottom is a built-in holder for the included stylus. The keyboard is also backlit, which makes late night typing much easier. [[ Display ]] The 14-inch display is ample without making the Chromebook overly large. Colors are sharp and the IPS display looks great from different angles. However, the screen is shiny and will definitely show glare from any light behind you, which is something to keep in mind if you plan to use this Chromebook outdoors. The display is a touchscreen, so you can use it for interacting with apps, or using the included stylus for drawing. The display also rotates all the way back, so you can hold the Chromebook in tablet mode or prop it up in "tent" mode for movie watching. Video playback, such as Netflix, looks great and playback is smooth, making this machine perfect for loading up offline Netflix shows for a long plane ride. [[ Performance ]] The i3 processor definitely makes a difference in the general "snappiness" of the machine. Opening tabs and web pages is fast and responsive. The unit also includes 4GB of RAM which some might consider too low for a Windows 10-based machine, but seems to be just fine with Chrome OS. I had 10 websites open on different tabs with a YouTube video playing in the background and the machine was still performing great. Thanks to the Google Play store, you can also install many Android games on the Chromebook. I tested out Asphalt 8 and the graphics looked incredible with very minimal stutter. Using Geekbench 4 Android app running on this Chromebook, it scored a 4490 single-core score and 9208 multi-core score. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has a single-core score of 1960 and a multi-core score of 6472. [[ Battery Life ]] Dell states that this unit can run 10 hours on a single charge, and after 5 hours of web browsing, I still had about 60% of the battery remaining, so the 10 hour claim seems to be accurate. I've found that I'm able to recharge the Dell Chromebook with many "Power Delivery" chargers, such as the 5-port Power Delivery Charger from Anker. Connected to this charger, the Chromebook charged at a rate of 15V 2A (about 30 watts). Overall, this Dell Chromebook appears to be a strong performer with a strong exterior. It should definitely hold up as a daily driver while providing zippy performance.

My family is a fan of Chromebooks because they turn on fast and they rarely have glitches. This Premium 2-in-1 Dell Inspiron Chromebook has quickly become a favorite device as it is small enough to take on-the-go and it can be turned into a tablet. The gray metal design makes this laptop appear nice, sleek, and it feels solid. The active pen that comes with this Chromebook is simple to use, and it has its storage compartment under keyboard which makes it easy to keep the pen in one place. Furthermore, the battery life lasts a long time, which is what makes this device suitable for travel. The size of the keypad is big enough to allow movement of the pointer, and it is not bothersome as the texture is smooth. I like that the keys don't feel cramped which makes typing comfortable. The best feature is the Full HD touchscreen; it is bright and with fantastic resolution. The speakers are along the bottom edges of the laptop, hidden, but it still does sound great. The sound is clear, efficient and quality are great. The thing that makes this 2-in-1 Chromebook the function is the ability to switch between a keyboard laptop into a tablet quickly. This laptop functions without a cooling fan thanks to its fast 8th generation Intel core processor. It does not overheat even after using it for a prolonged time. It weighs a bit more compared to the other Chromebooks, but it is still acceptable for mobility. This Dell 2-in-1 design sets it apart from other laptops. It is a premium Chromebook that I enjoy using.

Metallic construction and glass covered screen makes it look and feel more expensive than it really is. Boots up really fast. Long battery life. @@@@@@@@ about 10 hours on medium brightness). Reasonably light for a 14 inch 2-in-1 laptop/tablet. Backlit keyboard. Runs Android games and apps. Includes stylus. Excellent device for multimedia entertainment. Two USB 3.1 Type C ports than can also be used for charging. Small AC adapter. Snappy 8th gen Intel Core I3 SoC and eMMC storage. Quiet and doesn't get hot. Cons: some backlight bleeding in dark environments. Glass on screen is a fingerprint magnet and prone to glare and reflections. No HDMI (minor complaint as the USB-C ports can be used for external display connection @@@@@@@

My whole family loves this Dell Chromebook! It is definitely not what you think of when you hear Chromebook and that is a good thing. My daughter has a chromebook that does the basics, but this goes above and beyond. First of all, the setup was very easy to do. We also love how quickly it charges and how long it keeps the charge. We haven't timed how long the charge has been, but we haven't had to charge it for it for a while. We love how quickly the chromebook loads up, especially the kids as they seem to have less patience. The display on this Dell Chromebook is also very impressive. We love watching netflix at night on this and the picture is very nice. My kids have used it to do schoolwork on it and I have used it to do some work related jobs. This Dell Chromebook is a 2-in1, so having that option is great. At 14", once you flip it to a tablet, it isn't too cumbersome. When I have used it for work, I have also enjoyed having the option of using the stylus that comes with this Chromebook. Make sure you look under the chromebook to find the stylus. My wife uses the chromebook at night and she loves that the keyboard lights up really nice. The only complaint that we have about this chromebook, which isn't too bad, is that it only has one usb port. Overall, we are highly pleased with this Dell Chromebook. So if you are looking for an upgrade on your old Chromebook, consider this Dell as a great option.

My current Chromebook is about 3 years old and the battery health has started to fade so I was really looking forward to an upgrade. This Dell Chromebook is exactly what I was looking for. Pros: - The keyboard is back-lit, allowing for dark room typing. - The screen easily rotates around and turns it from a laptop to a tablet. Most apps I use on regular tablets are compatible and the touch screen was very responsive. - 4GB of RAM and an i3 processor give you all the power you need. In tablet mode, games I've played on my tablet like Plants vs. Zombies run much better. - The power cord has a convenient LED light so it is easy to find when you are looking to plug in for a charge. - You have FULL access to the regular Google Play store and all the apps within. Most older Chromebooks limit the apps you can access. - Excellent battery life. - Fast boot up times, automatic updates, and no worry virus protection. Cons: - It's a little heavy for a Chromebook. But that is a decent sacrifice for the screen size, battery life, and power. - It'sn't easy to open. While the design is sleek, it takes a little bit of effort to pry the lid open. You basically need to force your fingers in between to create a gap that will allow you to lift up the screen when the lid is closed. This was a poor design choice. I'm a big fan of Chromebooks and have switched from Windows laptops for several years now. This model is a great option for anyone looking to simplify their computing experience.

I really like the size and weight of this Chromebook. Love the color, and the finish looks to be high end. With a smaller laptop/tablet, don't expect the speakers to sound great... to me this is really a non issue as I use headphones 99% of the time and don't expect to have great speakers in a 14" laptop. Screen looks great in laptop and tablet mode. It was super responsive to my tough using my hand or the included stylus. Track pad was responsive with no lag. The laptop is very quick, especially when I compared it to one of my older ones... I forgot how nice it is to have a computer that doesn't lag! Ah yes, the way its supposed to be! I was super worried about the hinges on this tablet/laptop.... but honestly they are robust and strong... After flipping it from tablet to laptop mode a bunch of times, I'm no longer worried. Overall, this is a great Chromebook.

Forget what you think you know about Chromebooks

When someone mentioned Chromebook to me in the past, it elicited a mental image of a small, cheaply made, plastic-y laptop with a dull, washed out grainy screen. Well, I guess those days are over b/c this Dell is built like a premium laptop except that it's a Chromebook. So, in my mind, it combines the best of both worlds - the great build quality of a premium laptop with the great software of Chrome OS. The screen is retina class (like a Macbook Pro) and bright. As others have mentioned, the screen can flip over to go into a tablet-like mode or form a "tent" to go into an ergonomic, easy to use touchscreen, video watching mode. Chrome OS has matured tremendously and has become a viable operating system. The 4GB RAM doesn't seem to handicap this system in my experience so far. The 128GB storage is actually overkill in my opinion, as the whole purpose of Chrome OS is to store most things in the cloud. But, it's a nice feature and I assume that it's the bare minimum a consumer would expect to have in this premium class Chromebook. The only cons that I've come across is that the laptop is pretty heavy and I don't like the positioning of the stylus - I think it would've been nicer to have it insert into the side of the laptop.
