    Google things fast

I only use this Dell 2-1 14" Chromebook for - All Things in the Google Universe (ecosystem), some other Play Store apps, social, internet, internet, internet and a writing app. I'm not doing 3-D modeling or heavy photoshop. Do I wish I had more money and purchased a Pixel Slate with an i5 or 17 and more memory, yes. This is 4 pounds and the keyboard if stuck to it. I would prefer something 2 lbs or under with a detachable keyboard and a faster processor for when I use demanding apps. So far however I have not had any issue. The outdated i3 processor is doing everything fast I have asked of it. I keep multiple applications open and 25 tabs without a hint of delay. Next time step up and spend some more coin, plus I had 10 minutes to decide as Best Buy was closing, I was in a hurry...After spending thousands on a mac (they have less expensive ones) this is great, just without Garageband, etc. I use the heck out of this and it has worked very well except the wifi range isn't spectacular, however I have an old single band router and an only one slow internet with poor maintenance and at 12mbps - in the middle of the desert. The battery life is excellent. I am looking forward to a tablet in the future that does not have a fan, still stays cool and with a faster processor. I was told because this was solid state and did not have a fan, I must have misunderstood, it has a fan. Things with hinges will fail. For the money it is so far so good. It was "on sale", isn't everything? I think some people who hate Windows like me, who like the Google cloud concept, and love the way this syncs to an android phone will like this set-up. It is like my mac before cat hair killed it and how it synced with my iphone, but less money. If I wasn't addicted to a stylus of the Note line of phones I might still have an iphone and I would have looked at ipads. This will help with my closeted wanna be writer ambition, research and most internet everything. It is fast for the things I do and boots up fast like a SSD should. Interactions are instant between Google apps. If you are in this price range (on sale only; It was $150 less), aren't doing things that require a high end processor, don't mind the 4 lbs and think 14" then maybe? If you have more coin and demand more from a device then step up I suppose. I've had this less than a month so time might change my opinion. If I had more time to choose and think about it I would have spent more, gone lighter, leaner and more powerful$

I expected a cheap plastic feel, but it actually has a very nice, quality feel to it. Although, it is quite a bit heavier than I expected. I suspect most of that weight is battery, because the battery life on this is amazing! You can easily expect to get a full work/school day out of a charge. The charging brick is unobtrusive, and has a tail going to the wall, so you it doesn’t eat up more than one plug. The cord going to the USB C connector leaves the brick at an angle that allows you to easily wrap the cord around the brick, which is convenient for storage/decluttering. The USB side is also lit, which is rather unique, so you can easily tell if you have power. For those artists and hand-written note takers out there, a stylus is included, and there’s even a storage slot for it built in to the base of the Chromebook. Display is widescreen, so it would work well for watching movies. But, you’ll want some headphones or external speakers if you want good sound. Built in sound is not impressive at all. Speaking of watching movies, although the Best Buy description states that it has an HDMI output, it should be noted that this output is via the USB-C ports - NOT your ‘typical’ HDMI port. This unit is on the mid-upper range of the price spectrum, so I don’t think it would be good for younger users. However, if you have a responsible high schooler, or a kid heading off to college, this might be a solid choice.

This is my 3rd Chromebook in past year. Not because they are bad products, but because they tend get taken from me by my family members. I really love the Chrome OS based laptops. They aren't super powerful, but really productive. I spent a week with this one and I believe I've fallen back in love with a DELL product. I never thought I'd ever say that again. This 2-in-1 is beautiful, with it's Urban Gray finish. And the keys feel great. the FHD display is gorgeous , for a Chromebook in this price range. It also has a stylus tucked away beneath it, to the right of the track pad . The back lit keys look and feel very premium. Speaking of premium, It 's got a fully aluminum body. DELL is known for making sturdy products anyway. I swear I could go on for hours and hours gushing about this Chromebook, but I'm just gonna drop a link to my online review, for a more in dept look at how I really feel. Now, the only problem I could possibly see in this unit is, the fact that it's so well built that it ends up weighing nearly 5 lbs. Good thing I workout often. As the name states, it's a convertible Chromebook. Meaning it can be used in laptop form, tent form and tablet form. That's where the issue lies. I don't see many people using this one in tablet form very much, considering the weight. But other than that, I totally recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade from their school Notebook. Have you seen the price tag? Go get yourself one. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1C64ohZn6pZvTd63JR6gj9EOhYrIkbrl0yLLZCJm9hUM/edit?usp=sharing

The Dell latitude 14 inch chromebook is a very well built, quality machine. With this build quality does come some weight. The Dell is on the heavy side of other chromebooks in this size, but it does have an aluminum chasis, backlit keyboard and touchscreen, so the weight does offer something in return. The bottom edges of the sides do have a sharp edge to them which I don't like. When you pick up the chromebook from the sides the sharp areas are noticeable and uncomfortable to some degree. Setup was easy, but I did have a number of app crashes after the initial setup. Maybe there was an issue with the setup process or maybe the app were not compatible with chrome. The Dell chromebook does use the google app store so I may have installed some apps that were android only, but I did experience many crashes. After the first 2 days, and after uninstalling some of the apps, this machine is running excellent. Speed is great with the Intel I3 processor and the screen is really nice and bright. I really love the backlit keyboard as well. Touchscreen is responsive and it has handled all of the tasks that I have given it without any issues (after the firest couple of days). One nice feature is the stylus that comes with the Dell and is stored in a slot on the front of the machine. I have these with other laptops and chromebooks, but they are always missing since they aren't stored in the machine. This one is convenient to reach when you need it. Overall, I really like this chromebook. If I could make any changes, it would be to shave off a few ounces and work on the sharp feeling edges and this chromebook would be 5 stars easy.

    Great basic 2 in 1

I have two of these 2 in 1 type laptops/chromebooks. One from Dell and one from another brand with a larger screen. I love the screen size of this Dell, it's great for my hands without feeling too large to use as a touchscreen. I wish it weighed a little less as it is quite heavy for the size of the laptop. The screen is great and gets a ton of use for Netflix/Hulu type services and the picture is always very clear. The sound from the speakers is great and it easily connects with my Bluetooth headphones for listening in quiet situations. I was pleased with the amount of android apps that were able to download but then quickly realized that a lot of the apps aren't made to work with screens this size or with 2 in 1s in general and ended up deleting the majority of the apps I downloaded as they just don't work well enough to take up space. The google chrome software took a few days to get used to but it is pretty intuitive for someone who hasn't used it before. The touchscreen is great and very responsive and after playing around with some settings to get the trackpad to scroll how I wanted I find I use that just as much as the touchscreen. I love the addition of the backlit keyboard to this laptop as my other 2 in 1 does not have this feature and it really stands out. The quality of this laptop feels sturdy and also has a very sleek look I've come to expect out of some of the newer laptops. All in all I think this is a great basic laptop, I'm not a gamer though and not sure how it would hold up to that type of daily use.

It is a rugged laptop, though it is fairly heavy due to being a 2-in1. I do not use the screen folded back on itself because it is heavy and awkward to hold. In tent mode, on a table or counter, it is very usable. It does take a bit to get used to the difference between a PC/Mac and a Chromebook. There are a couple of differences , no page up/down button along with no right click on the touch pad. There are Chromebook ways around these but it was unexpected. While this does support Android Apps, the Apps do not always support the standard Chromebook way of doing things. The Amazon app is an example, using the track pad results in no actions, you have to use the touch screen. Other apps work great. You will have to experiment to see if your favorite Android Apps properly support Chromebooks. Interestingly the games Splendor and Alhambra work great.

The device feels super premium, as good as any dell laptop. ChromeOS with an i3 processor just flies. The screen is nice and very bright (brighter than my xps 13). Works perfectly with the Dell WD15 USB C dock connected to two 1080p monitors. Keyboard feels great to type on. The touch pad is a little "sticky" on my slightly moist fingers. Compare that to the xps 13's trackpad which is super smooth 100% of the time. The pen works great although I'm not an artist. I couldn't see any delay when drawing or writing in the Google Keep app. My only other complaint besides the trackpad is the weight. It feels heavy at 4lbs, although that isnt an outrageous weight for a 14" laptop.

I purchased this to replace a old tablet with battery life issues. I really like all the features it has and especially the size! It does everything I need. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the weight it's a bit heavy wish it was lighter!

It's a great laptop. The touch screen and stencil go a long way to making notes easier to go through. The only drawback is the need of internet to do things like sign in and stuff. If it weren't for my hotspot on my phone I'd be toast. Good laptop overall tho.

Great Chromebook, fast and responsive. Having never used a Chromebook before, there was surprisingly very little learning curve. I only dropped my review to four stars because it’s a lot heavier than it looks.
