When I first started using this laptop, I thought it felt and ran kind of like my Chromebook. The more I have used it, the more impressed I am, however.
I have not loaded on games that my Chromebook could not handle but I have spent over 10 hours watching an online course and the battery went from 94%-19%. Part of that time, I had the brightness all the way up because I was sitting outside enjoying the day.
The setup was very easy- Dell Assistant walks you through the process. The assistant is right on the taskbar for easy access. It also checks for any driver and other system updates that are needed.
The camera has a built-in cover for privacy. I had to buy a "stick-on" cover for my Lenovo. I am glad that is part of the laptop now!
Dell also uses a fingerprint to log in. Superfast and because it takes images of your fingerprint from several different sides during setup, you don't have to be exact when logging in.
It is pretty lightweight which makes taking it places easy. And with the long battery life, you will want to take it everywhere!
I also like that the charger is a regular C-type connection. My Android uses that type of charger. When the charger on my Lenovo shorted out, I had to pay over $60 to replace it.
Overall, it seems to be a great little computer. I am not sure if the Dell assistant will require a subscription after a certain amount of time. If so, I will see at the time if the cost is worth it.
WIth this size, capabilities, battery life and simple C-type charger this would be a great laptop for a college student.

This is a nice all around type laptop for everyday activities, from browsing the internet, watching your favorite video, playing some games or doing homework. Thin, light and simple to go from a laptop format to a tablet format.
With the installed NVMe Solid State Drive, this thing is snappy, fast reboots and applications nearly opening instantly. With the 8GB of RAM you can multi task fairly well without any issue. This might not be the best default option for big video projects and graphic intensive games, but it is capable of still doing the task. Input/Output options include two USB 3.2 Type A ports, Combo headphone/mic 3.5mm port, 1.4 HDMI port, a micro-SD slot, a dedicated power port and a USB 3.2 Type-C port which is used for the included power supply. I like that the power supply is universal, but it takes the only USB-C slot on the device.
Battery life is pretty decent, but really dependent on what you are doing. I went from playing solitaire for a couple hours, which who knew they did so many updates to the Microsoft Solitaire app, with the battery stating it had about 30 minutes remaining to browsing the internet and it suddenly saying I had 2 hours 30 min remaining. You can also easily adjust the performance of the battery to extend battery life or increase performance.
The keyboard is backlit with solid white. The fingerprint scanner/power button works well, but noticed that sometimes it has to scan it a second time or you have to give Windows a second before attempting to scan or it will fail the first time. In normal laptop mode it is in a “normal” position, but when it tablet mode it is kind of awkward. It at least takes some pressure to press, so it isn’t as accidently pressed as all the other keys that are now on the back of the screen. But, you will probably have to have a different fingerprint scan because it is not the same position. I resorted to using my PIN more in tablet mode than fingerprint.
It seems that most laptops now come with the speakers facing down off to the underside of the keyboard. When resting on a hard surface this works well giving a reflective sound that helps give more of a surround effect. When on your lap though, it muffles the sound. However, in tablet or tent configuration the speakers are directly toward you. Sound quality is clear and distinct for such small slit style speakers, but there is little to no lows.
One thing I find annoying with Dell is their constant push of their support products and McAfee software. For a novice user I can say that their support applications really do help simplify the complexity of Windows. But, for a regular user, their constant notifications get a bit annoying.
Overall this is a great school laptop or something that is light and thin enough to take in a small carry bag for work. It has the power to handle most every day tasks and snappy to keep you from wasting time on things loading.

Good computer. There are pros and cons this laptops.
Pros: touch screen, light, and build material. The computer feels well made. The processor above average. I like the fact that I can expand the ram in the future from 8gb to 16gb. Finally, it comes a usbc charger.
Cons: the screen is glossy making it hard to use in well light settins. The screen and body are finger print magnets. It comes with 8gb ram (but expandable). The power is weirdly place right next to the delete button in the kerboars. Battery life is average. Sometimes gets really hot. The screen itself acts as a stand.

Hinfe hasn't broken yet, but sometimes when I open it I can hear a loud snap so I get a little worried. I'm attentive when I open it.
I like the keyboard a lot. The i5 is fast enough for my needs and I've even done some gaming. Not a fan of Dell's proprietary software they put in there but that's standard now.
Ability to upgrade the ram is really good. The manual says you can only go up to 16g ram max? I have been running 2 16g dimms now for a total of 32g ram with zero problems. No blue screens or crashes anywhere.
One thing I don't undertand is when the computer is in sleep mode the fan will sometimes come on and get loud. Really weird if the the laptop is in sleep and therefore not on.

I bought this computer to help me get through my MBA. I absolutely love it, it was fast, loved the ease of the touch screen and I have never had any problems with it. If you are going to spend money on a new computer but don’t want to spend thousands for a good one this is the best option.

It has generally good performance with excellent picture quality and long hours of battery life. But after just some few years, it began to freeze intermittently with strange noise which got worse and worse till you couldn't just tolerate the noise. Finally, it couldn't even restart. When the days it does, you spend over an hour opening a folder.

I have been using my HP Elitebook 840 for years and it has served me well but it was time to replace it. I decided to see what was available and upon reasearch decided to purchase this Inspiron. I was worried about the performance moving from a true business laptop to a Dell Inspiron but have been very surprised. This laptop has the speed/horsepower to do whatever I need and it is as quick (or faster) than my old Elitebook. This is a very good laptop with great features, a beautiful display and excellent sound. The battery life has been more than my needs since I typically utilize it at my desk and the 8 GB Ram/512 SSD drive is more than adequate for my needs.

Purchased this product for a very specific reason. I needed something on a budget that would check off some specific boxes. I wanted something lightweight and portable. I wanted something that would have some descent speed and enough battery life to get through class without being plugged in. It would not need to be able to run task heavy video/audio processing or run any gaming. So far, all the boxes have been checked and there have been no issues to complain about. I feel like within this price range this is an incredibly competitive product.

I purchased 2 of these. One for myself and one for my daughter, both on May 21, 2022. My daughter's has not stood up to a 19/20 year old responsible college student. The mouse pad has a dead spot and now one of the hinges has broken. I expected this to last her through college and it didnt make 2 full years of heavy use. Mine has stood up to low to medium usage.

I've had it a week now, and all is fine. This replaced a Lenovo 8th Gen i5 that blew its motherboard, not quite 3 year old. This Dell is noticeably quicker, smoother, sharper, and I love the 512GB drive. Terrific screen, though I mostly use an external 22" monitor. But I have no trouble with the 14", and this screen is so clear and sharp. I like that it has a built in HDMI port. But I wish it had a second USB Type C port like the Lenovo had. The mini SD port is a nice feature, but I wish it had a full SD instead, since I use a DSLR camera. Keyboard has a firmer and more reliable feel than the Lenovo. And it is so light.
One quirky feature that does not seem well thought out. The on/off switch is located on the top F-Key row, all the way on the right, where the <delete> key is on just about every computer keyboard I have used. The <delete> key is to the left of that key. They look and feel the same, which sometimes results in me turning off the computer when I am trying to delete from the right. Did no one at Dell think this might be a problem?
Other than that, I am very pleased. Would take a half a star off for the quirky <delete> key. That's just dumb. I have owned many Dells over the years, and they have always stood up. I am confident that this one will outlast the Lenovo.

My last 3 laptops have all been Dell. I trust the brand, and they've got excellent support. This laptop replaces my Dell Inspiron 13" which didn't meet Win-11 specs. It was also a Christmas gift. This 2-in-1 14" model meets today's tech needs and comes with Win-11 pre-loaded. Was able to get it for $200 off MSRP. Looks great! Runs great!

This is perfect for my needs. I don’t do a lot of office work off my laptop. However, i do the occasional organizing, creating documents thru excel and word and it works great for me. I have had no problems. The size is perfect and it gets the jobs done.
