Really great laptop, it’s fast, portable, and long battery life. I’ve been using this laptop for school and it hasn’t failed me. The laptop is built sturdy enough so that you should worry about breaking the screen when you fold it. And the finger print reader is so convenient

Best laptop I got online from Best Buy. I would recommend a lap top like this to get work done easily. I like the way it turns on right away with no problems. It is very quiet and runs smoothly. This lap top is an upgrade from my old Dell computer which I still like because it has a built in CD drive.

It's really nice. I got an open box version and there wasn't any issue. Very practical for college student's budget. I like how it has sensitivity sensors especially when I use my stylus. It's good for illustrators. But it is a bit hard drawing on glossy glass

Love this multifunction speedy touchscreen, two in one laptop / tablet w/ backlit keyboard. It is super fast. Connects seamlessly, lots of storage and lightweight! Have been using Dell for years, went from 15.6" laptop to this 11.5" and don't miss the bigger screen or the weight of it!

Power in small package

This 2 in 1 laptop strikes a nice balance between size (14” screen) and weight (3.5 lbs). It is a well-constructed 2 in 1 with silver aluminum clam “case” and sturdy hinges. If you want a sleek, fairly light unit that will travel nicely and can handle business apps, video streaming and some gaming - this is worth a look and would recommend.
It was nicely packaged and easy to set up. Plug it in, start it up and Windows walks you through the setup process. No real “bloat” software to get rid of. On/off fingerprint reader works well and was easy to set up.
14-inch 1920 x 1200 60Hz (WUXGA) FHD + IPS touchscreen, 250 nits screen is a step up from normal 1920 x 1080. I found the touchscreen to be very responsive. The screen was much brighter than I had expected and enjoyed watching movies but is a bit reflective - adjusting the angle does help. 16:10 screen ratio leaves a rather large unused area at bottom.
Intel 13th generation i7-1355U. In researching it seems it has a total of 10 cores and 12 threads. 2 cores and 4 threads operating at 1.70GHz with Turbo Boost of 5.00 GHz are used for performance. 8 cores and 8 threads operating at 1.2GHz with Turbo Boost of 3.7 GHz are used for efficiency. Cache is L1: 160 KB, L2: 2.5 MB, L3: 12 MB. Meaning it should handle almost anything you throw at it with no problem multitasking, Apps opening quickly, etc.
Intel Iris Xe Graphics does support HDR – but only if streaming. I don’t do much gaming anymore so I can’t speak directly to how it might work – but it should handle lower to mid-level games not requiring high level graphics.
16GB LPDDR5 memory – could not find response or number of slots, but it appears too not be upgradeable.
KIOXIA KBG50ZNS1T01 1TB PCIe 4 x4 NVMe M.2 2230 SSD. Allows for fast booting – but I disable anything not necessary during startup using task manager.
Intel 6E (802.11ax) AX211AC 160MHz Wireless and Bluetooth. No ethernet hardwire option.
Dolby Atmos up-firing speakers on either side of keyboard. This purport’s to provide 3D sound for movies, music and games. I could not find output specs for speakers, but they are on par with other laptops as far as loudness is concerned, which is to say not too great.
1 USB 3.2 Gen Type-A connection
2 Intel Thunderbolt 4.0 USB-C connections either of which can be used to charge laptop. Thunderbolt 4 is fast and can support a docking station allowing for virtually unlimited connection options. Having said that I would have liked 1 or 2 more USB connections. If charging you are left with only 1 usable Thunderbolt connection, but again these seem to be de rigueur these days.
1 HDMI 1.4 connection. As such the maximum output resolution is 1920x1080 @60Hz. But I connected it to my 4K TV, and it indicated 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz connection (see pic).
1 SD card reader. Why not micro-sd?
The keyboard keys have a nice tactile feel. A backlit keyboard is great for low light usage and can be turned on/off with a choice between 2 brightness settings – but could not find anywhere to adjust time it stays on. As is normal with smaller laptops some keys have dual functions, requiring pressing function key to be used in combo.
65w wall charger with 8 ft USB-C cable with detachable inline brick. Being able to charge using Thunderbolt USB C connection(s) is great. It makes charging more “universal” allowing to carry just one charger for my 4 laptops as well as my phone!
1080P front facing camera with built in microphone. Has a manual slider to cover camera lens– a very nice security feature.
Universal microphone/audio jack
Windows 11 home
4 cell Lithium-ion battery.
Dimensions are 0.61” H x 12.36” W x 8.92” D. Weight: 3.48 lbs.
1 year warranty with onsite/home service after remote diagnosis.
Switching between laptop/tent/tablet modes is easy. I did notice a little node on each hinge whose function appears to be tilting the keyboard a little for easier typing. Have not noticed these on any other laptop.
I tested the battery using balanced power plan, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled, looping a movie as well as having 3 tabs open on browser and email open which automatically retrieves email every minute. After 7 hours there was still 15% battery left with low battery settings kicking in.
At 3.5 lbs. it’s almost a pound heavier than my 13-inch laptop with very similar specs but 1 lb. lighter than my 15-inch gaming laptop – striking a nice balance between the 2. Weight seems to be more biased towards the base where keyboard and screen connect, making it feel a tad unbalanced - but I do like the extra screen/keyboard size.
While it doesn’t break any new ground, the laptop is nicely packaged, functions well and is very portable. I look forward to everyday use and recommend.

Nice Dell 14in 2in1 Touch Laptop
|

I have really been wanting a smaller 2in1 that was light and easy to travel with. The problem is that finding one with decent power and memory at a reasonable cost is hard to do. This Inspiron 14in 2in1 seems to be a great fit so far.
Now, remember folks that every time you get a new laptop, depending on the release date you may end up having to do a lot of updates. I have read some of the reviews on this, as well as some of the complaints and as Dell has responded, you need to perform ALL the updates. Not only are there several rounds of Windows 11 updates but there are many Dell updates and 1-2 firmware updates. I spent the better part of an afternoon ensuring that I had completed all updates. There are still some RealTek updates that fail to load. Regardless, there is a reason for them, take the time to do them as they most likely will greatly improve your experience.
Usability, this was exactly the size and weight of a 2in1 that I was l looking for. At 3.5lbs, it only weighs slightly more than the Macbook Air. This has 16GB of Ram and a 1TB SSD and 13thGen Intel i7, all for under $1000! As far as the interfaces, touch obviously works very well on the screen. The keyboard is backlit and the feel of it and it’s clicks are perfect; I had no issues. As far as the touchpad, the click-hold-drag does seem to be a bit laggy or not as smooth but to be honest, I went on my larger 15in Dell and while it was better, honestly, I think it’s just the size and the weight of the laptop. A larger, heavier laptop just seems to provide a more solid base for that “click/hold/drag”. I am going to keep comparing but I honestly don’t think it is an issue. Again, make sure you have all the current firmware, etc. I also have not experienced any heating issue once every fix was loaded. Another thing to note is that when you sign into your Microsoft ID, you have the option “load” all your apps from your other laptop. I chose several of these and therefore all that updating I mentioned above was just exacerbated by the loading of apps at the same time. I did notice the fan came on and it may have gotten warm while this was going on but now I have 3 PowerPoints, 2 excels and 2 word docs in addition to multiple tabs on both Firefox and Edge. I have no heat, lag, memory or CPU issues, it’s smooth as can be.
Onboard there are two USB-C ports on the left side (I prefer the right but oh well), along with an HDMI port. On the right side, there is a regular USB Port, a headphone jack and an SD card reader. Personally, I would rather see more ports that are useful on these boxes. I don’t use a card reader, if I need one, I usually have a USB device that I put the card in.
As for the 2in1, for me its just a use case thing. If I am traveling for example, I can turn this into tablet mode and it makes Instagram, You tube, etc. much easier to manipulate like a tablet. I really only use the 2in1 in tablet mode for this purpose. This Dell worked perfectly for that.
My main usage is the Microsoft Suite, I am not a gamer so I cannot comment on that, but this is not meant to be primarily a gaming box although it has a good deal of power and moderate level graphics.
Now, lastly, I have only had this about 72 hours. After loading all the updates and playing for half a day, last night at 8pm I unplugged and started working on a couple of excels and PowerPoints. Started back this morning and its now been 26 hours of on/off usage but still on an unplugged and I’m at 37%. Not bad at all. So far, I am happy with the battery life and happy with this laptop. At this point I would recommend it to friends. I do think you need to be “technically aware” of the need to perform ALL updates and patiently work through them prior to making any early judgements. Again, Dell produces a solid machine. I will update this if anything changes. For me, this one is 5 star. No issues yet at all and I am really loving the size, weight and power. I would recommend it.
