When I tried to use the track pad the movement of the cursor was not controlled by the pad. The cursor would move erratically. I guess this is a known issue. I have to use external mouse otherwise its laptop is useless. not very happy.

Avoid Open Box Laptops

This was supposed to be a top tier model (fastest chip, ssd at time of sale) and BestBuy told my daughter that she wouldn't need an extended warranty due to being a demo/open box, which in hindsight, they should have included. Now it's dead for a third time... another hard drive failure. Avoid this POS. Really soured me on Dell and BBY.

I was a lifelong DELL brand-loyal user and even worked for DELL back in the 2000s. I was so disappointed with the SLOW internet speed and overall use of this laptop. Happy to have purchased the MS Surface Laptop.

This is the 3rd computer I have tried and the other 2 (different brands) had software glitches and were returned. So far, all is good with this one - I will amend if needed. The good.... Good keyboard, nice spacing, good travel, 2 level backlight. Very little light bleed around keys. I personally like that there is no number pad, as laptops with number pad tend to shift the trackpad way to the left. Screen is very bright with slightly oversaturated colors. 4K is nice, but doubt the human eye can see difference in this or 1080P on a 15" screen. For a laptop, sound is adequate. Laptop is fast with 512 SSD, 16GB ram, and discrete 2GB video. This will run most moderate games with good framerate etc. So far,I have not even heard the fan running. Computer remains cool around top, back and sides. Trackpad works fine, but cannot set to single finger scrolling - better driver needed. Have no real negatives so far.... Overall, good bang for the buck. Fast, decent hardware, computer boots and loads fast. Running programs well.

So at times it glitches and pauses for a second or 2. This all depends on the person. Some are fine with this but for me I just couldn't deal with it. Overall nice however for a super smooth computer I would recommend the XPS

Perfect at first until you are 15 feet away

One day I decided to take it into my room to watch my movie and then my wifi connection started to slow down or not even connect at all. My other devices (phone & ipad) connected to the wifi perfectly and had no issues. After googling this issue, apparently it's a common issue that this model deals with. Maybe I got one of those bad devices? Anyways I'm about to go and return it, if I could get one that'd not have this issue I would. Aside from that issue everything else I was satisfied with.

1. Run the Network Troubleshooter.
a) Touch and hold or right-click the network icon (Available Networks or Network Icon, located in the lower right-hand corner).
b) Touch or click Troubleshoot problems and then follow the prompts.
